I went there 3.31.23 and bought two parakeets sadly one died today 4.5.23. I went back and the same associate named Cody that had spent so much time helping me the day before was working today. Thankful I was able to get another bird. Cody again was extremely knowledgeable and helpful again. He took the time to go into the back and hand pick another girl parakeet for me. The staff there is A+ noone pet shamed me for bringing back a deceased bird and everyone was smiling. I waited until I got home to be surprised and the bird he picked for me and OMG is she beautiful. Back to the register to get a refund, where the clerk had the nerve to ask me to wait as my transaction would take too long. I have NEVER had a pleasant experience at this location. My puppy went in for an appointment today with Bella ( a new groomer) when I arrived it seemed that the cut was perfect but as I got in my car I noticed that he had a deep cup that was red and bleeding on his leg and he also has redness at his testical area that had spot bleeding and redness also had redness under his arm that look like a scratch as well. I called back Pet Supplies Plus every time I notice something so I had to make at least three calls in between noticing. I was told that I would be accommodated to the point that I was told that if he needed to go to the vet, they would pay for it or I could talk to a manager along with a couple Recommend recommendations that were recommended by someone else that worked there. This was all fine however, it's more of accountability. There is just no way that Bella did not notice after she cut my dog that he was bleeding. This should have been told to me when I picked him up, not for me to get in my car and find out that he had been cut. I understand That the new staff was new and I tried to have enough patience, but each time I saw an issue it was making me more upset. however, there's also an accountability that needs to be put in place. If you make a mistake you need to tell the owner and maybe I would have been more accepting of it. Also, I got a full groom and his nails weren't even cut and some of his hair under him, was not even with The other parts of his hair( so other in other words , he still had long pieces of hair when it should have been cut short near his belly) again, this is more of a accountability post, regardless of their recommendations and accommodations that were given things like this need to be told to the owner. I also understand that my puppy is one to move around, but this is his second time getting cut by a groomer in the first Time he was not cut short, but the third time he was the same as exact length that we went to Pet Supplies Plus for and we had no problem with any scratches or any injuries even with him being busy if he was moving around.

I typically frequent the Empire Blvd location, but post-Trader Joe's dog food pickup does sometimes lead me here. When we first got Freddy Sue, the Pet Saver here saved my LIFE. I miss the days before PSP bought PetSaver, but this location will have everything you need, and the staff is still very helpful. I love grabbing Fred a special treat from the "dog bakery" they have right when you walk in to the right. There are always themed treats available and, she absolutely adores the small PB covered bones which are like 30 cents each. They have a strong rewards program here that includes bagged food discounts and more. I also am SO impressed by their online ordering system and the free, same day delivery. This is in addition to the curbside pickup option that is also very convenient. I hope some things (like that!) do stick around post-COVID. I am sure it has been a game changer for folks who need to take care of their pets and are immunocompromised or quarantined. Overall, this is a fine location in a cute plaza with basically everything you'll need to have a happy and healthy pet.

On September 26, 2026, I visited Pet World in Fairport and became concerned about both the…read moreconditions in which animals were being housed and several apparent sanitation/safety issues in areas accessible to customers. I observed holes/damaged areas in and around animal enclosures, heavily stained or deteriorated enclosure surfaces, animal waste and debris, and multiple enclosures that appeared poorly maintained. In the aquarium section, there was a substantial amount of water pooled on the customer walking surface. I also observed aquarium equipment/decor and cleaning equipment left on or near walking areas, including a bottle of cleaning solution accessible in the store. I took photographs and video during my visit documenting the conditions. I am concerned about both animal welfare and the safety/sanitation of the facility.
