Service was decent. They communicated clearly regarding what they recommend. However, every time I've brought in my car to any Honda they try to recommend an additional "critical" service. What was truly annoying however, is when checking out, they let me know there would be a 3% charge for using a credit card. There was nothing informing me of this ahead of time to prepare by bringing cash or a debit card. 3% is extreme price gouging from the business. read more

I scheduled appointment at 2:40pm, arrived at 2:20pm, they let me wait for 40 mins and no one showed up to check me in. I have to ask around and finally someone came and told me that they cannot help me because it is too late for them. Why they even have 2:40pm appointment if that's too late for them, and why no one tell me when I first arrived. Obviously they are poor communicator and lack of ethics of business. I took my car into their service department because of a rodent infestation that was causing a terrible odor. I waited until closing before I got my car back, and they charged me $371.46 to basically detail the engine compartment, and they never got rid of the smell and they refused to reverse the charge even though I did not get the result I asked for. I eventually got the work done correctly after taking it to another place and paying a $500 deductible through my insurance. I will never go back to Poway Honda and the charlatans who charged me for this, and I encourage others to take their business elsewhere. read more

This place is ok, but in the end I didn't end up buying from them. They had the car model that I wanted, but it wasn't the color I wanted. Fine. However, the process of knowing WHEN they'd get the color car I wanted was like pulling teeth. First, they told me what cars they had and when they were expecting their next batch of cars. I wasn't interested and asked if they expect to get the color I specifically wanted. Sales guy goes to his manager. Takes about 15 minutes. Comes back to me and shows me what they can expect within the next couple weeks. Ok. Can I get information for the next 6 months? Sales guy goes back to his manager. Another 15 minutes. Comes back and shows me what he can get for the next month. That doesn't answer my question. Give me what you expect to get in the next 6 months. Sales guy leaves again and makes me wait for 15 minutes. By this point we were at the dealership for an hour just sitting around. What. The. ****. Finally he gives me the actual list of cars he expects to get but he has his manager come out with him and both of them try to push me into getting the car that I just test drove because it's already there and I enjoyed it. Sure, that's all good but that car is not what I want! This has got to be one of the most unpleasant sales experiences I've had. When I went to other dealerships, the salesmen had no issue telling me when they'd get certain car models over the YEAR. The only reason I'm not giving this place a 1 or 2 star is because they let me test drive the car by myself and they offered us water. Also it was easy to call them up and make an appointment within 24 hours. And honestly I would have given a higher rating if they had been straightforward and honest from the get-go, but their sales tactic of making me wait in order to push a sale on me made me more annoyed and frustrated than wanting to work with them. I ended up going to DCH Mission Valley instead and buying my car through them. read more

I hold a very negative opinion regarding new car dealers (both for sales and repairs). In short, it's a dirty rotten business full of liars, scoundrels, and incompetents. Hondas and Toyotas are the best products for the money, but the people who sell them are mostly awful. Mercedes, BMW, and Lexus offer top of the line cars. Their practices are much better than other brands. Still, buying one of their cars is still risky. Those dealers have extracting as much money as they can from each deal down to a science. I'd guess only half of those dealers are dangerous to deal with. HOWEVER - HERE'S A GOOD TIP. POWAY HONDA IS BETTER THAN ANY HONDA DEALER IVE COME ACROSS! In particular, Sales Manager, Niki Chriss is exceptional! I leased a new Accord EX in late October 2023 and found her to be honest, well organized, and straightforward. If you want to buy or lease a new Honda, CALL AHEAD and make an appointment to meet with her. Be on time. Be fair. And be respectful, and chances are you will be very pleased with your visit. Niki is in a class by herself. Just deal with her. Nobody else! Don't just walk on the lot and start talking with a random sales person. That's not a good strategy for success. However, I would prefer to receive a formal multi-point inspection report or checklist after the service and oil change--something that includes specific details like tire tread depth (e.g., 4/32") and brake pad condition (e.g., 8.0 mm). Additionally, I chose not to have the tires rotated, but the service representative told me they couldn't check the brake pad thickness without removing the wheels. That information is inaccurate, as it's possible to inspect brake pads without taking the wheels off. read more

I just purchased an CR-V through Gary Lobel, Senior Sales Consultant. I was very impressed with sales and the transaction. Gary found exactly the car I wanted, had it brought in the same day from another dealership, and we got the transaction done in about an hour. There was absolutely no pressure. The dealership does have a couple of thousand dollars of add ons, but these were offset by a rebate. Since I wanted a very specific car, this was fine. Poway of Honda recently appraised my car via the Car Cash app. Prior to appraising it on the app I also appraised it on Kelly Blue Book. My appraisal on KBB was 46,000 to 49,000. When I got the call from Honda of Poway I was told my car value was 44,000. When asked why it was higher on KBB I was told that I was looking at the private sales price. I assured them that I was not, that I was looking at the trade in value. I have bought several cars over the last 5 years. Over the last year several dealerships have decided to give less to those who trade in their cars. The private sales price of my car is 54,000 and I know darn well that they would sell it for that price too! It's almost offensive to be low-balled on trade ins like they are doing now. Shame on you Honda of Poway. I had thought about a new Honda Accord. If I still choose to do that it will never be with your dealership or any owned by you. I really hope people do research to avoid being ripped off! When appraising my car through KBB I did it honestly and even marked it as "good" condition when it's actually in excellent condition with new tires and tabs purchased last week. read more

Last week I purchased a 2025 Honda CRV Hybrid Sport L from Poway Honda. I was met by Sales Manager Michael, who in turn introduced me to Sales Associate Arlene. I was immediately at ease with her style and demeanor and from that moment enjoyed a productive and, I can't believe I'm saying this about car buying, enjoyable experience. In minutes I felt like I found a new friend who seemed to genuinely want this to be the right thing for me. Arlene was extraordinarily relatable. At the same time she was professional and knowledgeable on the technical details of the car. Then came the part where you sit and go over the numbers. This is where your new BFF at the dealership can become an uncomfortable adversary. Didn't happen this time. One trip back to check with Michael and the deal was done. Mickey Peresz is a great guy. When I contact him over the phone and I was helping my daughter to purchase a Honda CRV Hybrid last week, he was very professional and played no game with me. * Service Review Only * I must admit when I first came to this place I was so confused where the entrance to their service line was because of their small construction area, and ended up driving around the entire building. Oops. I brought my car in for some routine tune ups and had the pleasure of working first with Al, and the technician (Jose) discovered an oil leak of unknown source. I brought it back two weeks later for reinspection (this time working with Dane) after they put some powder (I think?) on it and figured out it was both front axles along with a crank sensor seal leaking. Yay for me. What's a lazy gal who doesn't know anything about cars to do? Just get it fixed I suppose. Loved working with both service advisors - super kind and helpful. Bargained to $470 because Honda Escondido would do the same work for $320. Poway says if you don't do the work, we're charging you a $210 diagnostic fee. We went to other dealerships before coming here and he was by far the best in providing the best customer experience and ensuring we knew exactly what to expect throughout the buying process. Probably the worst service center in San Diego County. We unfortunately purchased our 2023 Honda CR-V there. Window motor stopped working. Made an appointment to get it repaired. Appointment started and turns out they didn't have the part needed. Brought the car back a week later. Dropped the car off for the service. Got a phone call saying the wrong part was put in the box and that we had to come back another time when the part arrived. Finally got that repaired. Now our car has a recall. Made an appointment for that. Called the day before to ask about the time the service will take. Guy says about 2.5 hours. I get there and the guy says it will take about 6 hours for the service. Which I didn't have time for. How unprofessional and flat out terrible the customer service is here. Then someone I'm chatting with says someone was gonna call me. Nobody did the whole day. If anyone at Poway Honda reads this give me a call to try and make it right. But nobody cares, I am just a number. Don't go here! read more

The lease process went smoothly. Once they take your money, they won't answer your questions. I needed the address or email address of Honda Financial so I can provide proof of insurance which is due 10 days after purchase. You get different answers when you call. A salesman tells me I don't need it but I told him I have a form "Agreement to Provide Insurance" that I signed asking me to provide insurance or else. He discusses it with someone and tells me that he is transferring the call to the receptionist who has all the information. The poor receptionist said she knows nothing. He got rid of me in a sneaky way. I asked the receptionist to transfer me to the finance department but she said she will give them a message to call me because they are all busy. And then I called and left a detailed voice message to Michael Perez, the guy in finance who helped me sign the documents. No one has called back. read more

We stopped here on a whim, after seeing a listing online, and calling to ensure it was available. We had Esteban, whom literally left us standing outside, for well over 20 min waiting to test drive. He was dealing with other customers, apparently. Before we test drove the van, we noted it to be very dirty/grime in between the seats, literal globs of goo on the interior window, And Esteban said: "maybe you should purchase a new odyssey if you need it to be that clean." Wait, what? I still want to test drive, why don't ask me now because it just gets worse. We are done with our test drive and come in, and politely hand the keys to Esteban. He could have cared less if we were interested in purchasing this vehicle. To be honest, we should have left when he made the comment about buying new. We should have left when he was literally careless in regards to our return, wanting to know about the vehicle. He was once again, dealing with his other "clients" while the sales Manager James as well as 6 others were literally standing or sitting around. Wouldn't you know that we arrived at 1:48pm and left @3 pm having sat and waited the majority of the time and didn't even have an appraisal for our trade in. The van we looked at, is overpriced, and they try really hard to convince you it's not. Mind you, they would have "dinged" our vehicle for every small thing, but said to us: "it's used, it's not perfect" when we pointed out the large scratch on the side panel, the under cover popping off by the drivers wheel well, and again- the cleanliness. James the manager was barely helpful. He came over to hand us the carfax sheets, (because Esteban was once again with other clients) and proceeded to stand there, while we were sitting, as if he really didn't have the time to talk to us. We should have gotten up and left at this moment too. He did manage to go outside and attempt to input our vehicle trade information in. We waited another 40 min before I walked over and James said: "can I help you?" I asked what was taking so long. He said there was an error inputting our vehicle for trade in. Did he try and help in any way? No. When I mentioned that Esteban seemed busy with other clients, James replied; "that's not why it's taking so long." Seriously? Esteban was out once again trying to input our vehicles information in, we had enough. We walked out and said we'd like to go, to which Esteban said: "alright, no worries" Dropped our keys in my husbands hand and walked away. No- "thank you for your time today." No, I can give you a call with your appraisal, or literally anything that would have given me the indication that any of them actually gave two flying hoots about selling a vehicle.
