I stopped by for a quick lunch during the week and wanted an easy to-go sandwich. They have a medium sized menu but a lot of different options which makes it a bit hard to pick haha! I decided on a reuben sandwich with all of the fixens inside. I was surprised that I was the only one in there because of the amount of rave reviews. It was a small quaint little place. The employees were suppperrrr nice and gave me a lot of time to think about my order. The vibes in there were very cool with fun music and just overall a good time. Now onto the Reuben. Holy cow! It was juicy and very flavorful, with the perfect amount of sauerkraut. The bread was toasty and the sandwich was nice and warm but not too hot. I think this will be a new spot for me for lunch!

Essentially for me I had waited too long to eat and the idea of waiting longer was a non starter for me. Sandwiches are not my go to food outside the house, it seems silly on some level. However, the sandwich I had was fantastic and well balanced. There was a good amount of everything without it being too much. Sometimes it's too much. This was great. They also had good, homemade or freshly made sides like potato salad and other salads you could get. It was great.

I put in for reservations on a Saturday evening outside and I'm not sure if I needed it. However it was a great experience overall. Charlie was our waiter and he was super helpful and friendly. We shared some appetizers of salad rolls as well as the chicken wings. Five stars for those! My friend had the banh mi and I had the pho with meatball and brisket. Five stars! Delicious food! Literally all top notch. Looking forward to coming back and trying more.

We ordered a variety of entrees, but the highlight was definitely the pho. The broth tasted very close to what you'd find in California and even Vietnam, which was a pleasant surprise. Really rich, balanced, and comforting. The only downside was the lack of fresh herbs on the side. It only came with a dish of bean sprouts, so it felt like it was missing that extra freshness that usually completes a bowl of pho. Service was amazing, mostly students from UC. But everyone was attentive and made sure we had everything we needed. Parking was pretty easy, which made the whole experience even smoother. Overall, still a solid spot, especially if you're craving pho that tastes authentic.

I'm a coffee snob, which means I'm naturally annoying and occasionally correct. This may be the best coffee drink I've ever had in my life. Melissa and her husband run the place with care, love, and obsessive attention to detail, and it shows through the whole staff. Kenya and our server were joyful, sharp, helpful, and full of excellent recommendations. The bread service alone is worth the visit: fresh, beautiful bread with olive oil that actually tastes alive, not like the sour, elderly lamp oil too many "Italian" restaurants pretend is premium. Add the balsamic glaze, salt, and pepper, and it may be the best bread-and-dip setup I've had anywhere. And they don't charge for it. Double bonus. The salads are healthy, gorgeous, and loud with flavor. The scallops were cooked perfectly and plated like art. Honestly, almost every plate here looks like it was assembled by someone who cares whether civilization survives. The drinks are top-shelf across the board: excellent liquor choices, plus possibly the longest list of high-end coffee options I've seen. One caveat: the lamb chops were beautifully plated with asparagus, carrots, and sides, but the meat itself was thin, cool, and small for the price. That was the only disappointment I've EVER had in a dozen or so visits, so I'm calling it an outlier, not a crime scene. And desserts? Don't be foolish. They only serve the good stuff. Bottom line: don't let the casual setting fool you. VV's delivers white-tablecloth quality without the stiff-necked restaurant theater.

Most places default to coleslaw, but these guys went with kraut, because fermented foods are clearly their thing, and I'm so glad they did. That kraut was next-level. Tangy, flavorful, and piled on just right. I might have loved it even more than the turkey, which is wild to say because the smoked turkey itself was juicy, tender, and packed with flavor. The pickle boat was also fantastic. Crisp, bright, and full of that homemade, small-batch goodness. You can tell they care about what they're putting on the plate. As much as I loved the food, the service really stood out. The gentleman at the register was kind, knowledgeable, and genuinely welcoming. He even used my name when he checked back to see how my food was, which is such a simple touch but made a big impression. The only suggestion I'd offer is to update the website pricing to match what's currently being charged in the store. The difference was noticeable, and keeping that consistent would make the experience even smoother. Bottom line: a fantastic, unexpected find with amazing food and standout service. I will absolutely be back.
