Smoked fish dip with fried saltines. They change the fish. This was trout- yum!

This was our first time here. I made a 6:00 reservation which was unnecessary. Service was friendly, helpful and fast. The ambiance was wonderful - especially for an old post office. It was rainy and cold tonight so their outdoor seating was closed. Looked really nice. We started with the grilled oysters which were some of the best I've ever had. We also ordered the smoked fish dip and pimento cheese for my son who doesn't like fish. My husband had the mushroom risotto and I had the wood fired shrimp. I wanted a veggie but there weren't many options for a side and the salad wasn't my jam. I got the smokehouse lounge to drink and it was yummy! Can't wait to go back.

Amazing bourbon options. The fish is so fresh it tried to bite back but Kevin wouldn't let that happen. Kevin's service was impeccable!

Kevin's service was impeccable. Fish was very fresh and the chefs creativity showed with every dish we had.

I now have a new favorite spot and super happy it's only an hour from our home in High Point! We took the day off to visit a Pittsboro since we have not been there in a while and it did not disappoint. Visited several local breweries and finished the night here. We wanted to try loads of things since it was our first time so we had cheddar biscuits, a salad, striped Seabass, and last but not least the most perfect hush puppies I've had in a long, long time!

First time visiting this hidden gem, passers by it many times. The food is cooked perfectly, the chef knows how to balance flavour, texture and eye appeal. My husband and I decided to split the steamed clams, blue sky lettuces, NC Cedar Island Fry, flourless chocolate cake. Kevin, our waiter, was highly knowledgeable, personable and attentive. Highly recommend this seafood restaurant for local veggies, house made desserts and the freshest NC seafood you can find within a couple hrs of the NC coast!!

Hush puppies and biscuits

The restaurant was roomy and tables weren't crammed together. This is accessible to those with mobility devices to move around with ease. The waiter was great and knowledgeable about the menu. The food was very tasty and reasonably priced. I spoke to the owner after and he was very pleasant also. We drove 45 minutes and it was very worth it.

Don't sit outside unless you want to be joined by flies. Our dinner was overwhelmed with "uninvited guests " as our waiter put it. I thought it was rather unfortunate and really ruined my appetite quickly. The bread was fresh and fluffy and the serving of hush puppies were huge. I didn't enjoy the fish spread which was a very strong flavor - overwhelmingly fishy and not balanced. The scallops are excellently cooked and paired beautifully with vegetables. The shrimp and grits were interesting- larger grits, lots of onions with beautiful shrimp but by this point the flies had overwhelmed us. While the restaurant and our waiter noticed, they seemed completely to feel it was our problem. a few bugs are to be expected sitting outside but we were basically among 50 flies which feels disgusting. I would consider the restaurant but only indoors.

Good food at a price. The shrimp was overdone but the fish was perfect. We went there on a recent Friday and had reservations

Well we decided to give them another try. After all, it was Taco Tuesday. Plenty of parking here , they share it with other businesses in a little strip mall. We were seated right away. Ordered a Classic Margarita and my wife ordered a Cosmopolitan. I looked around and the restaurant was not very busy tonight. FYI: Pittsboro has 5 Mexican Restaurants. So hopefully the service will be good and it was. We ordered our food . I finished my Classic Margarita before our food came. I ordered another when we received our food. The food was better this time than the last , but still mediocre. I have had better from other Mexican Restaurants in town. My second Margarita, I have to say it tasted good but no taste of Tequila. I had 2 of the largest Margaritas , I should have felt something, but I did not. As I said in the beginning. I am not a fan of Restaurant Extortion. ( charging for Credit Card use ). Need I say more. Yes one more thing. That is the cost of doing business and a convenience of the customer. Many feel this way. I will not be back.

Squid's is a long-established restaurant in Chapel Hill, and while it has been on my list of…read morerestaurants to visit, I'm glad I finally got the chance to try the seafood dishes. I ordered the Spicy Fra Diavolo which is a spicy tomato sauce/parmesan linguini pasta topped with calamari and shrimp. I also tried the fried seafood combination of local catfish and shrimp. The fried seafood combo was cooked to perfection. The catfish tasted fresh, without any of the fishy taste that catfish can sometimes have. The batter was crisp, while the fish stayed tender and juicy. The shrimp used for the fry were large and tasty. The pasta was the highlight of the meal, as generous heaps of shrimp and calamari paired well with the balanced flavor of the white/red sauce blend. I look forward to my next visit to Squid's. Pros: Large portions at reasonable prices. Fresh seafood cooked well with pasta and as a batter fry. Cons: None

My partner and I weren't feeling up for a dine-in, so we decided to do a takeout. We ordered their spicy fra diavolo which was packed to the brim with calamari rings! If you don't believe me, take a look at my picture for proof. After 10 minutes of digging through the pasta, I still managed to find 10 calamari rings, lol. No complaints here though! Just surprised at how bountiful the calamari rings were for the pasta. The sauce wasn't spicy, despite the name stating so, and was sufficient to coat each strand of pasta noodle. As for our second dish, how can we NOT get fried seafood?! So, we decided to go for their combo for any two items. We were pleasantly impressed with the size of the battered catfish. It was MASSIVE! The shrimp, on the other hand, wasn't anything special. Quite small. Not really juicy. If calamari was an option for this combo, we'd definitely go for it! Seasoning was a little salty, but the breading was nice and crispy. Not burnt tasting or oily, and complimented well with the cocktail and tartar sauce. Fries were normal, but quite small in portion. For $30, I'd imagine either a little more fries if shrimps are only 6 pieces, along with a piece of catfish. Food was pretty good! I can't speak for service because I did take out, but it seemed okay. The inside was really clean and had lots of tables! Maybe I'll bring my friends the next time they come visit here.
