Overall, I had a very poor experience with the food this time around. The highlight of the evening was our server, who was friendly, attentive, and did a great job throughout our visit. He recommended the cocktail, and while it wasn't for me, I appreciated his service and hospitality. I'm hoping this was just an off night because the server did tell me that the day I went was the first day with their new menu. We were greeted warmly by friendly staff and given a kids menu, draft and spirits menu, regular menu and restaurant week menu. Menus galore! We went with the 3 course meal (many items can be ordered on the regular menu) for $25. I ordered the tomato paprika soup and my husband got the split pea soup. Of the two, the split pea soup was the clear winner. Two kinds of pork (cubed and shredded), well balanced seasoning and texture married well to enhance a soup I've loved since childhood. I could've easily eaten a bowl for my meal. The accompanying homemade Dutch Rye Bread, though I'm sure it's authentic, I didn't care for. It was dense, soft and had an off putting flavor.
