Boom. Bam. Ahhh. This is flat iron steak, Brussels and frites at Post 70 near the Blue Ridge Parkway entrance of east Asheville. I used to come here when it was only Filo Bakery. I guess the last time I was here over seven years ago. The bakery was superb. The additions to a full service restaurant is beyond perfect. Now for taste. The steak was really smooth with a nice crust with Coarse salt and a dollop of tomato jam. The Brussels are possibly baked as they have the burnt exterior. But then they are tossed in tomato jam. The frites/fries are thin perfectly cooked. The tomato jam is nice and different. I learned, from the more than gracious bartender/waitress, that the ingredients include allspice, garlic, clove and of course tomato. It is light, fresh and not overly sweet. But I want to be clear that this is an elevated and sophisticated condiment. It is Not ketchup. This is a wonderful spot. I highly recommend. Drinks. Dinner. Dessert. All homemade. All worth your time.

Fast times at ridgemont rye. Rye whiskey, sweet vermouth, Benedictine, absinthe and peychaud's bitters.

While the food and service was prompt, This may have been the slowest meal I've eaten. I did t want it to end. Dear god ! The braised short rib. I can not adequately describe the perfection of the preparation. Moist and as tender a baby's ear lobe. It has a firm bark that cut easily and held the balance sauce. The sweet potato purée was coated with blueberry gastrique, jus , with cremini mushrooms and broccolini The drinks were excellent and rose To the level of the food. The best date I've ever taken myself on.

A tour guide recommended this bar/cafe and it was the best experience! Josh, our bartender and host, was amazing to us and made the entire experience at Post 70 extremely enjoyable. He curates new cocktails every 6-8 weeks, so if you enjoy tasting new drinks and want something you have probably never had before, this is the place to go! We decided to stay for dinner and had the best meal. We ordered hummus and baba ganoush plate, and the lamb chop. Everything melted in our mouth including the sides that came with the dishes! We ended our meal with probably some of the best carrot cake we have ever had. Would highly recommend to anyone who wants to try new dishes and drinks in the Asheville area!

My only complaint with Post 70 is that I didn't get to return during my visit to Asheville..... My girlfriend and I stopped in to watch the Kentucky Derby, which Post 70 was celebrating with a party. Folks were done up in their finest Derby attire and the atmosphere was just great. The mint juleps and later, the Louisville Lemonades were really tasty and refreshing. Unfortunately we didn't partake in any of the menu items but everything looked to be very promising. The space is at once classy and comfortable: the kind of place you'd pick as your regular neighborhood spot if you lived in the area. The staff is cheerful, friendly and energetic. The seem happy that you stopped in and you're made to feel at home immediately. So while I'm not sure how truly helpful this "review" is, for what it's worth I'd highly recommend checking out Post 70. I know I will, if I am ever lucky to travel back this way.

Went one evening for a date night as one of our first nights out alone without our new baby were excited to try this place. At first walk in we were a little confused since there was no host and no sign that said please see yourself. We decide to grab a table and about 5 minutes later a server came over to great us. After she came over she was super nice, very friendly and attentive. This place appears to have an ever rotating menu which is nice but it changes every evening and there's no place to find the current menu for that night online at least not that I can find. We started off with fried green tomatoes with some trout dip which is very delicious. It came with three fried green tomatoes cut in halves. We shared a salad with goat cheese and Mandarin oranges and bib lettuce and my wife said it was one of the best salad should have ever had and I must agree with this. Being that it was apparently southern night at post 70 I saw someone with some chicken wings and they looked pretty good. However after ordering them I realized they were actually fried like fried chicken instead of chicken wings which was not what I was expecting but they were pretty good. We also shared a large bowl of macaroni and cheese with some ham in it which was very delicious and creamy, my wife did say that the cheese resembled Velveeta which I don't think it was but it was that creamy texture. All the food came out super fast and the drinks came out shortly after we ordered them. The staff was very knowledgeable and the place has a small local feel. Will definitely be back although I do wish we can look at the menu before we get in the car and drive over there.

Two very nice drinks with a lovely cocktail list.

What a lovely place! My boyfriend and I were looking for a delicious spot to eat for dinner and wow were we in for a treat. The drinks were delicious and service was great! We ordered the gnocchi which was probably one of the best I have ever had! We also ordered the fingerling potatoes for a small plate and those were wonderful. We will definitely return if we get back to Asheville.

Their espresso martini is probably the best I've ever had -- perfectly balanced, smooth, and dangerously easy to drink. Every bartender here is incredibly knowledgeable. They can make anything you ask for and then walk you through the history and origins of the cocktail like you're getting a mini masterclass with your drink. The bar itself is beautiful, with an impressive selection of spirits and a menu full of creative cocktails featuring ingredient combinations you'd never expect to work together -- but somehow they absolutely do. It's also one of the best places in the city to sit back and people-watch while enjoying a perfectly made drink. Do not skip The Times -- honestly, it's worth going out of your way to stop there.

Service was good, it wasn't very busy so pretty easy to walk up and order. I would have loved to try an espresso martini from here but I didnt want to risk not being able to fall asleep (Im getting old). They have indoor and outdoor seating. Outdoor is pretty casual with small tables. Indoor decor is fun, halloween-y, and dark. They have a huge selection of liquor, so everyone will be able to find something they like. Sounds like they change their menu frequently so there is always something new to try.

Every time we go, I'm kind of shocked it's not absolutely packed. This is part of the Foothills Meats family, and if you know their spots (the butcher shop, the food truck, The Grange, etc.), you already know--they don't miss. So we went in the first time pretty confident, and they absolutely delivered. The space itself is great, but the rooftop is the real standout--easily one of the best views in Black Mountain. It's such a good spot to sit, have a drink, and hang out. Speaking of drinks--the bar is excellent. The bartenders have always been great, super easy to sit at the bar and enjoy yourself. They've got a strong liquor selection and fun, well-balanced cocktails. Now the food. Everything we've had has been consistently good, but our last visit really stood out. We shared the pork katsu sandwich, the sweet potato biscuits, and the poutine. The pork katsu was done really well--crispy on the outside, tender inside, with that classic crunch from the cabbage and a slightly sweet, tangy katsu-style sauce. I also really liked that the sauce was on the side so you could control each bite. The sweet potato biscuits surprised us--in the best way. Those are easy to mess up, and these were not. Soft, flavorful, slightly sweet with that savory balance, paired with ham, sorghum butter, smoked cheddar, and red eye gravy--it's a really thoughtful combination that just works. And the poutine... so good. Crispy fries, rich mushroom gravy, and cheese curds that actually hold their texture. It's hearty without being heavy, and every bite felt balanced. For the level of quality they're putting out, the prices are very reasonable--which makes it even more surprising that it's not more crowded. It's right in downtown Black Mountain, but we actually drive all the way from Flat Rock to come here--and it's absolutely worth it every time. Overall, this place just nails it. Great drinks, really solid food, beautiful setting--and somehow still flying a bit under the radar. Definitely worth checking out.
