Whether you want to stay busy or just kick back and watch a game, they've got you covered. There's a fun mini golf course with obstacle-style holes, cornhole, other interactive games, tons of big-screen TVs showing sports, plenty of high-top tables, a long bar, and even outdoor seating. We decided to grab a couple seats at the bar. We were first greeted by Kelly, who was incredibly friendly, had a great smile, and genuinely seemed happy to take care of us. Then Ben took over, and he was awesome. Super personable, easy to joke around with, and the kind of bartender who keeps interacting with guests even when he's busy. The staff alone is a reason we'd come back. Trivia isn't usually my thing, but we decided to join in anyway. It's free, energetic, and a lot of fun. There were probably around 25 teams playing, and Tom did a great job keeping the energy up all night. The questions start out pretty easy to build your confidence, then get progressively tougher. It ended up being a great time and the perfect way to spend our first night in Tahoe.

It reminds me a little bit of Virginia City, only without the bars, casinos, old-time photo shops, and camel races. Genoa is the oldest town in Nevada, founded in 1851 as a Mormon trading post. It still has lots and lots of history. Mormon Station State Park has replicas of some of the original buildings, and there are other historic buildings in town as well. however, Genoa feels more like a small ranching town rather than a big movie set. Tucked into this cute little town, is the Sierra chef. They do a lot. They do catering, they do cooking classes and it's a good old-fashioned Italian deli, also. Lots of Italian foods, and also grocery items, that you can buy. They have meats and cheeses, imported olive oils , sauces, and pastas. Amazing pastries. Gelato. They even carry. Illy coffee, which is a very high-quality coffee. Everybody in the store was so nice. For my lunch order, I was helped by Lori, and she was also very friendly and helpful. I decided to have the Porchetta sandwich, and it was amazing. Wonderfully seasoned pork, cut into thin strips. It was rich, savory, and had an amazing "porky" flavor. I could smell it as soon as it was brought out to my table. It was on a wonderful bread that was crusty on the outside, and soft and pillowy on the inside. , the cheese was creamy, , and the veggies were just absolutely amazing. One of the best sandwiches I have had in a long time. To drink, I had a cherry lime, Italian cream soda. I could taste both the cherry and the lime, I loved the creaminess of it, and there was just enough of a soda water that I could get the carbonation. For dessert, I had a cannoli. The shell was perfect, the ricotta in the middle was wonderfully rich, and I had chocolate chips on one end, and pistachios on the other. Again, totally top-notch. I took home a jar of imported puttanesca sauce, and it was just as great. The tomatoes had just had a rough chop, I could taste the brine from the capers, I could taste the olives, everything in it made it one of the best sauces that I have had in a long, long time. I live in the Sacramento area, so I'm going to have to see if I can find that sauce locally. It was that good. The price out the door for everything was very reasonable, considering the high-quality of the product. Just an amazing stop at a fantastic shop. I will be back. Thanks!

I ordered their Smith Flat House salad ($10) and the Jambalaya Risotto ($34) which consisted of Cajun-marinated prawns, lobster meat, Andouille sausage, grilled sweet corn with saffron chicken risotto. Definitely had a bit of a kick to it, the risotto was done well. My pet peeve is mushy risotto, it needs to have a slight bite to it which this one had thankfully. Love the fact that this place serves up local wines -- I couldn't recall the wine I had and they do not have their wine menu on their website. If you have the opportunity to visit, I'd recommend a glass of red from Starfield (winery up the road).

We sat on the patio where it was a bit windy, and did not see any heat lamps. We were seated quickly and ordered some drinks and some bruschetta. For this meal, we were both very hungry, and well, hunger makes the best seasoning. For most of our meal, we had the whole outdoor patio to ourselves. As it got darker, the ambient lighting was more noticeable, and it was lovely! We were quickly served our items and we received our main entrees relatively fast as well! Drinks/ Food: Bruschetta: There was more oil that I expected. The butter was melted into the oil and it was nice 'scooping' it all up! The tomatoes were flavorful. Lobster ravioli: with only getting 6-8 raviolis, it feels like a small portion, until you taste every bit of it! The sauce was so fresh I found myself eating it by itself. With a few slices of bruschetta and this dish, I was full! Spaghetti with squid, scallops, shrimp, and lemon zest: my partner got this, and the pasta was cooked perfectly al dente. I'm not as big of a fan of seafood in pasta, but the meatballs that came with incorporated the seafood and the taste was fresh but not overpowering. Citrus Creme Brulee: WOW! I am a big big fan of lemon and its sourness, so having lemon juice be incorporated into one of my favorite desserts made this easily the best creme brulee I've ever had. Usually the burnt sugar gives the dish an overall bitter flavor, but the citrus helped cut that and enhanced the sugar top. Coffee gelato: I ate every bit. The gelato was creamy, flavorful, and enjoyable. I appreciated being able to sit and enjoy the space and the company without being approached every few minutes. The creme brulee was so delicious, some of the best I've ever had! This is a really cute location and I would love to come back here soon! There is lots of outdoor seating with shade, I wish they were open during lunch to take advantage of that sun! Maybe the hours will be adjusted as we get closer to winter?

Brunch is served on Saturday and Sunday until 3. We both tried the blackberry mule mocktail which was good but tasted quite heavy on the ginger beer. I couldn't decide between the breakfast pizza and poutine fries so I got both. The poutine fries were on the happy hour menu during that time. The breakfast pizza was quite large and fennels meant for at least two people but it was nice and hot and cheesy and I loved the addition of the egg but wish it came with more than one. It also needed a sauce of some kind, ranch or salsa or even hot honey. The poutine fries were delicious! I got it with mushroom gravy and haven't been able to stop thinking about them. I was unable to try the stuffed avocado and Baja bowl that my sisters ordered due to my avocado allergy but she really enjoyed it. The service was prompt and our waitress was really nice.
