Free samples caught my attention and striking up friendly conversation with the owner Karla MacLeod really showed you can deliver wonderful customer service without being pushy. Loved it! They have a huge line up of spices, anything for a simple to gourmet chef and fun country items. I was ECSTATIC to see she sells Nevada Brining Company pickles - handcrafted in the Silver State - Wahoo!! I just watched a story on channel 2 news about this start-up pickling genius and it was on my list to check out. Fell into my lap visiting this boutique. I bought the Boozy Pickle with Whiskey and Fresno Peppers and the fast selling Ruby Red Onions Sweet & Sour. Prices are reasonable and lower than what other outlets charge for this popular pickling company. I can't wait to try the cauliflower when she gets it from the manufacturer. I appreciate the attention to detail wrapping each jar in purple gift wrap paper and placing into a crafty gift bag. I'm coming here for a last minute gift ideas! Really convenient they take plastic considering how small this establishment is. What's cash? Next time, I'm going for the red spicy salt for Bloody Marys!

What a wonderful surprise to step into The Wayfarer Cheese Shop!! Genuinely friendly and helpful…read morestaff made us feel very welcome. We ordered the featured menu for Food and Restaurant Week and every course delightfull. First a luscious Brie with a berry compote and crispy bread. Second a super fresh greens salad and a Cubano sandwich panini style as it should be. Referenc that as at another location recently it was simply a cold sandwich on incorrect bread. But not here, it was very respectful representation! Next we had a berry topped Cream brûlée , simply delicious ! The size of The Wayfarer does not lend itself to a primarily eat in establishment , more a to go or catering station. Bright, cheerful and meticulously clean! A very special treat was seeing one of the many charcuterie platters they specialize in~ and were so impressed ordered one for an upcoming Happy Hour Birthday Celebration. . We know we will be back and encourage you to give it a try!!!

I could have licked the bowl clean. Everything g is made in house except for locally sourced bread. While waiting for my lunch I was offered samples.. of course it lead me to purchasing some to take home!! They serve wine and local brewed beers along with non alcoholic drinks. This is the place to go for cheese and everything else you need to host a party or just build your own charcuterie trays!!!

The place was pretty busy, as expected on Valentine's. Our server was quick to get our drink order and tell us about the menu. The place is small, but well designed, and the use of space is thoughtful. My wife ordered an Italian soda, boy, was it good! Super fresh ingredients. I'm not positive, but while watching our server make it at the bar, it looked like house-made syrup and whipped cream, too. We decided on the Meatball Roman Sandwich ($18) and the Salad/Sandwich ($20) combo for lunch. I ordered the MadeIn salad and the Pablo's feast sandwich, which was an extra $5 when added to the 2 for $20 deal. Food came fairly quickly, and the presentation of the meatball sandwich was amazing! The meatballs were great, and the house made foccacia is hard to beat. Fresh pesto is always a nice touch. The dish was not too heavy at all, as some meatball subs are. The MadeIn salad is similar to a Caesar, but with some added greens like arugula and endive, and sesame breadcrumbs, rather than croutons. I actually preferred it over a classic Caesar. The dressing was incredible. So fresh and so much anchovy flavor. The Pablo's Feast sandwich was incredible, too. Great ratio of filling to bread, and the tomato jam is so good, I would buy it by the jar. The bitterness of broccoli rabe was a great complement to the entire meal. It's clear that flavors here at MadeIn are developed over time with careful thought and planning. Everything is fresh and delicious. The open kitchen concept allows customers to feel like they are a part of the experience and creates a unique dining environment. I can't wait to come back here for dinner sometime soon.

Let me just put it out there, in terms of Croissants, I think Dream Cakes is THE BEST in all of Reno. Bold words, I know, but these croissants are truly next level. The Chocolate Croissant has a light but satisfying snap to it, with the inside rich with flavor, fluffy, with structure and not at all doughy. The hint of chocolate completes the experience. The Butter Croissant had a rich, comforting buttery base, wrapped in a slightly flakey outside, one that announces itself with a gentle, articulate snap, the kind that suggests precision rather than fragility. It's a crispness that feels intentional, almost conversational, as if the pastry is inviting you into its layers rather than showing them off. Inside, the craftsmanship becomes unmistakable. There is no hint of doughiness, no underbaked heaviness lurking beneath the surface. Instead, each bite releases a warm, buttery richness that spreads slowly, confidently--never overwhelming, always balanced. What lingers is a sense of completeness. This croissant doesn't chase decadence; it achieves it through harmony. The textures speak to technique, the flavor to patience, and the overall experience to a baker who knows that the most memorable pastries are the ones that feel effortless. A quietly exceptional croissant--one that earns its praise not through grandeur, but through grace. Dream Cakes is worth the drive.

January was ending and I took my mom out for the day. I was in northwest Reno, so I knew this was my chance! I saw on their website that you can order and pick up, but it had pick up times for the next day, so I figured you need 24 hours. Good to know! I will be using that in the future! :) When I got there, only a couple was ordering, but when I left, lots of customers were arriving! I believe it gets pretty busy! I already knew what I wanted from the choices on the website. But honestly, when I got there, I wanted everything. So many delicious choices! The Ube cookies are very good. The white chocolate chips are pretty sweet though. The Ube croissant is AMAZING!!!!!! Flaky, soft, buttery, and so much filling! Highly highly recommend! The chocolate chip cookies have plenty of chocolate and are large. Taste wonderful. Staff is friendly and helpful :) The parking lot is small , it is a shopping center with other businesses around.
