They called and said that there was some matting under the belly and in the rear end. Gave them the "go ahead" to trim up those two areas a little more. Two hours later they called and said that he was ready for pickup. Asked us to take care of payment while they go get him and bring him out to us. When he was brought out he had been completely cut off of all his coat, except for the tip of his tail, front of his head, and paws. He was trimmed up to look like a poodle! And the bill was $40 higher then what was quoted because of a "matting fee" added to the bill. The young gal who did the job apparently had absolutely no experience in double coat dogs Would not recommend them to anyone I know.

Riesling our French Bulldog has never been to another spa and doesn't know how good she has it. An aside, Riesling is trained to use a potty grate system in our home. It sits on the tiled floor in our bathroom. This occasionally causes her confusion when we travel. One day we went to pick her up from the west side location. Riesling had spied an air vent in the floor that looked like a grate. Apparently in need she released a load of molten diarrhea down into their vent. I understand that these things may happen from time to time (I almost expect it, they are dogs and the do play with their teeth) but I am paying these people to watch my dog I would expect them to notice him not using his leg or the puncture in his face that swelled to the size of a softball and needed medical attention!! Through this facility we discovered an obedience class housed there and we took our dog to those classes (different company just used building) doing so allowed us access to the area where the dogs are kept and YUCK! Everything was covered in urine! The smell back there was noxious. The outside area was not big enough and filled with more urine, the grass was gross. They do have a live camera you can watch you dog with. That was a huge plus!! Rarely did you see an employee however.. No wonder I eventually had to start tricking my dog to go in and why he would be so anxious and stressed when we picked him up. I will never take my dog here again and I will never suggest anyone else I know do either!!

Prior to the grooming session, I explicitly communicated that my dog suffers from severe anxiety, possesses highly sensitive nails, and reacts poorly to blow dryers. These crucial details were conveyed to ensure a calm and safe experience for him. Madelyn'a immediate response was one of overt rudeness and unprofessionalism, marked by dismissive eye-rolling and a sarcastic retort, "Oh, like I haven't heard that before." This utterly disregarded my legitimate concerns and set an alarming precedent for the subsequent care. Upon collection, my dog was visibly trembling and in an unprecedented state of distress, far beyond his usual initial apprehension. It is important to note that at seven years old, he has undergone numerous grooming sessions throughout his life without ever exhibiting such extreme post-grooming trauma. The full extent of the horror became apparent shortly after. Once I secured him in his car seat and returned home, I discovered a horrifying scene: his entire car seat was saturated with blood. Closer inspection revealed that every single one of his nails had been severely butchered and was bleeding profusely. This was not a minor 'quick' on one nail; it was a comprehensive and shocking mutilation.I immediately contacted the establishment to address this grave matter with Madelyn Sanderson and her response was one of complete denial and appalling indifference. She disavowed any responsibility, callously suggesting the injuries were likely due to my dog moving around too much, stating "it happens," and incredibly, instructing me to "get over it." This complete lack of accountability and empathy is inexcusable. As a direct consequence of her gross negligence, two of my dog's nails subsequently developed severe infections, necessitating veterinary intervention and causing him immense pain and discomfort. It is unequivocally clear that Madelyn possesses neither the necessary temperament nor the professional competence to work with animals, particularly those with specific sensitivities or anxiety. Her inability to interact with stressed animals, coupled with her dismissive attitude and demonstrable negligence, renders her entirely unsuitable for such a role. Given the severity of this incident I have formally reported this matter to the Board of Health, my local Attorney General, office, and the Better Business Bureau. I firmly believe that if such egregious treatment has occurred with my dog, it is highly probable that other animals under her care are also at risk. I believe they charge $200 per cat, which is a fair price. This store is owned by Mary and Joe who bought the place when it moved from the former location. The usual inventory of pet supplies and aquarium fish. Sure you might get a part time person who isn't very knowledgeable once in awhile but generally well trained staff who love animals. Don't believe those earlier posts about cleanliness and poor hamsters up for adoption. That's not the way it is here. Go see for yourself and clear your head playing with some kittens!

We were referred to Canine Corner from some super happy pet owners that go to the Sun Prairie location. I'm thrilled I called as we caught them when they first opened and I was able to bring my boy in that same week. The staff were super friendly on the phone, but I was even happier in person. When you walk in Canine Corner there is a short picket fence as your gate so your pet cannot go running into another pet or staff member with a razor or scissors. Paperwork is painless, they verify immunizations for safety and greet your pet as if he was theirs. My boy has terrible separation anxiety and barks if left alone. The staff accommodated him so he felt comfortable and no longer barked or scared the other dogs. I've been to other groomers that ignore the dogs that aren't being tended to. Definitely not the case here. The dogs being trimmed when I picked up were being talked to and cared for. I appreciate seeing employees that actually like what they do and they did a great job at an affordable rate.
