Extremely poor experience with Tabby and Jacks new location in Verona! Took our Samoyed in for a grooming, getting brushed out, nails clipped, and coat cleaned up. They called and said that there was some matting under the belly and in the rear end. Gave them the "go ahead" to trim up those two areas a little more. Two hours later they called and said that he was ready for pickup. Asked us to take care of payment while they go get him and bring him out to us. When he was brought out he had been completely cut off of all his coat, except for the tip of his tail, front of his head, and paws. He was trimmed up to look like a poodle! And the bill was $40 higher then what was quoted because of a "matting fee" added to the bill. The young gal who did the job apparently had absolutely no experience in double coat dogs Would not recommend them to anyone I know. read more

First of all I stopped in to shop, not grooming. It appears many go for grooming. The shop seemed a little too expensive and priced in odd ways. I was looking to get a brushless dental chew which was priced at $19.99 for a small bag. Well the old tag was under the new one which was $9.99. I was surprised. When looking on Amazon it's $6.99. I understand a little mark up but not to the $20 point. read more

I was afraid that my very active 6-month old Shih-Tzu puppy might be too much for their groomer to handle, so I asked for an appointment with their most experienced groomer, Kelsey. She did a beautiful job in a very short time, and even praised my puppy Minnie (although she did admit to me when I pressed her that Minnie was "a handful!") However, she asked me to please bring her back and to ask for the same groomer because she enjoyed my puppy so much. We're going back in two weeks with Kelsy. Minnie is just too squirmy for me to be able to groom her myself, even with help from my spouse. I might be able to do it when she's older and calmer, but until then I'm grateful for Kelsey at Tabby and Jack's in Fitchburg!! read more

The groomers do a good job and they offer a lot of pet pampering services, like a facial or massage. The front of the store staff are a little inconsistent with product knowledge and customer service, some days are good, some aren't great. It can be a challenge getting someone to answer their phone but overall, it's a nice, clean store with lots of options. read more

These guys were GREAT with my excitable dog. She can be wary of new people but she loved coming to Tabby and Jack's to get bathed and have her nails trimmed. I saw her before she came out and she was genuinely happy. She felt and smelled really clean, and her nails are not as jagged as they were when she went in. The assistant at the shop was also super helpful in helping me choose a device to keep my dog secure in the car. They let me try on a harness and showed me how the seatbelt worked. read more

So, I have tried the dog grooming at Tabby and Jack's in Fitchburg and was unhappy. The first groom was so-so, and the groomer cut him where is scrotum was and he had a sore there for a long time. I went back (??) and told her about it the second time and she was defensive. Also when I tried to explain what I wanted done a little differently. Today, I tried Leah in Middleton. The dog had a greasy ear from some medicine and she was unable to get it clean. Also, the body cut was totally uneven - I could do better myself. Used to love this store, esp. the grooming. Customer service very lacking lately and new scheduling system for grooming is not useful at all. They even note an increase in no shows and cancellations, but havent fixed or reverted to old useful scheduling system. Called multiple times re appointment issues but never reach live person. Ironically went into store and still couldn't get help as the girl was on the phone over 5 minutes while I stood there waiting for assistance. Hope the store can get its act together. read more

They just scaled and cleaned my dog's teeth without anesthesia at a fraction of the cost! My sister lost 2 cats after teeth cleaning with anesthesia, there are real risks. This is a much better solution. And they dremelled his nails too! read more

I have been taking my pup (Kingsley) to Tabby and Jack's doggie daycare for about three months now and he absolutely loves it! If I could afford to take him every day I would. It is exactly what a high energy puppy needs while his human family is at work. Before finding a daycare for my furchild I did a substantial amount of online research and daycare visits and Tabby and Jack's came out on top. They limit the number of animals there so there is more interaction between animal and daycare attendant. They work with your dog on standard commands and etiquette and this is reported in their daily "report card." (The report card is one of my favorite things. You can read about what your dog did all day.) And you can tell that everyone that works there really loves animals and cares for your pet. Last week he got his first haircut at Tabby and Jack's and it also went well. I was able to talk to the stylist before she started and she gave me just what I asked for. They are even great at answering questions. I didn't think his dog food was right for him and they gave me a great new suggestion that didn't break the bank. It was actually cheaper than what I had been feeding him. Can't go wrong there! Overall a fabulous establishment that I am so glad I found. Everyone that works there is fantastic and I know Kingsley is going to come home happy and exhausted after a day at Tabby and Jack's. read more

I summer in Wisconsin and its always a stressful venture to find a shop that carries high end foods and has a good Grooming Philosophy. Yesterday I dropped my dogs Oliver & Annie off to be groomed at 11am. They were ready by 1 pm and looked like they spent all day at the spa!! Seriously one of the best grooming jobs I have ever had for them. The groomers listened to everything I wanted as I do not get a breed specific haircut. Even My mother was thrilled with the outcome of how adorable they looked. My dogs seemed genuinely happy and relaxed afterwards as well. I am super picky and opinionated so I was more than thrilled at what a great job she did. ( I am horrible at names but if i find hers I will update the post. The store is a decent size and has some nice products. Being a former pet store owner I am usually pretty critical. I have been looking for a nice backpack for our Belgian Malinois and they had a wonderful one for $69.00 which fit the bill exactly. It was sturdy, and well made in a normal neutral color and the 2 saddle bags detach and leave the harness on the dog. The treats and toys selection is good but I see room for more unique products and trees to set them apart a bit. Overall this place is amazing and the staff is very friendly. Even though I live over an hour away I will gladly continue to make the trip to Tabby & Jacks in Middleton. read more

Last year I adopted an 8 week old rescue named Holly who had been separated from her litter mates when she was (at most) four weeks old. Over the past 18 months Tabby and Jacks daycare and weekend playgroups have been an integral part of catching her up on the socialization she missed out on. I was really nervous to bring my old rescue to a groomer (she can get scared around new people) but we've been having a really hard time getting her nails trimmed. I set up an appointment for a bath, gland expression, nails (with or without dremmel), and a tooth cleaning in hopes that we could at least get her nails and anything else she could tolerate done. I was so happy to hear that with Leah she did fine and came home with trimmed nails and not seeming anxious or scarred by the situation at all! Do not bring your dog here for grooming. My dog got an eye infection after being groomed here. He was also cut in several places. They refused to pay his vet bills and said they were "suspicious" of my claims. I have been a customer since 2012. They didn't even ask me about how my dog is. read more

Having just discovered that Tabby & Jacks opened a Middleton location I was excited to learn that they carry such high quality dog foods and toys and also offer DOGGY DAYCARE! Having a terrier puppy, Chili, at home with us two working adults sometimes leaves us with a furry ball of puppy energy fury at home! Chili has been the past two weeks for daycare (which is limited to 15 dogs per day) and comes home relaxed and tired! While at daycare the dogs are always staffed with a human and even get leash walks over the noon hour (you can upgrade to a longer walk if you wish). When you pick up your tired pooch you even receive a "report card" on your dogs day, what they did, how they acted with other dogs, and even what tricks they worked on learning while there (double score)! I can't think of a better way to spend $23 in a day! read more

On a passing recommendation, I brought my puppy to Kelsey at Tabby and Jacks for his first full-body groom. Kelsey did an incredible job; he looked like a brand new dog! The whole thing took only about an hour and a half and was very affordable. Definitely going back! read more

Do NOT USE THIS PLACE!!!!!!! We took my mother's dog to this groomer. One of her dogs walked out with a limp in her back leg. Groomer LEAH claimed nothing happened (of course she would say that... job is on the line.) I use to have them come groom my cat and should have learned my lesson then. My cat was so traumatized from his last cut his hair didn't grow for over a year!!!! I should have learned my lesson then but I thought the dog experience would be different. I called and complained and they told me they needed a Vet note!!! What! we paid $200 and now you want me to pay for a vet to confirm a limp. Grooming manger tried to help me but had no offer of any sort on how to help me. The manager seemed sympathetic but said she needed to talk to the owners and I have not heard back and its been more then a week! I am so disgusted and appalled that this place care very little about their pet clients. I have reported them to the state to investigate the treatment of the animals they "groom". Took my lhasa poo in for a grooming and told the groomer that I did not want his rather curly hair cut that short. She takes one loom and says she's going to have to give him a buzz cut. No explanation as to why, his hair wasn't even that matter. I was clearly uncomfortable with the thought of my fluffy dog losing all his hair (especially in the middle of winter) and said keep as much as you can. When I came to pick him up, he looked like a skinny Larry David with his buzz cut and squared off ears that now resemble mutton chops and to top it off his hair is not evenly cut around his eyes. Only reason they get two stars is because he was don't in an hour but I will not be coming back. read more

I was charged twice for a product order during the Christmas shopping season. An employee was trying to straighten it out the next time I brought the dog in, but the owner wouldn't allow it. The owner would not even take my name or number and look into it. The owner wanted me to bring in a bank statement. My bank statement is none of this owner's business. Her business made the error, and it's up to her to have enough respect for her customers to take responsibility and correct the error herself. As much as we love Brittney's grooming, this crummy way of being treated has made me avoid the place. read more

I took my dog to get a bath and have his nails trimmed since doing it at home is always a fiasco. I warned the groomer, Leah, that my pup hates baths and generally gets nervous and jumpy around strangers. She was very sweet and kind with him, and when I came back to pick him up, she said he did great and they even cuddled and played for a little while. For him to warm up to someone so quickly makes me feel like the people working here are genuine animal lovers and I know I can count on another good experience next time I come back! read more

My dog Puka is a shy girl but she loves getting her nails trimmed by Heather! I can't say enough good things about Heather. She is always so sweet and attentive to my little dog's needs. I don't know how Heather does it, but Puka is always happy when she comes out of her appointment which is unusual for her. We come from the east side because Tabby & Jack's is worth it. Everyone in the store has been so nice and I love that they feature quality pet foods/products rather than the sometimes questionable average brands.
