We've had such a great experience here each and every time that we've brought our dogs for their grooming services. I'd honestly recommend any dog owner (doodle or not) to come here. Firstly, appointments can conveniently be made through their website after creating a profile, where you can: 1) add multiple dogs, 2) upload vaccination records, 3) choose your groomer. Confirmation texts are sent to ensure that your preferred appointment time is accepted. Secondly, they also send photo updates and text when your dog(s) are almost done so you can head over and pick them up! They're also very communicative and provide updates on whether or not they could cut/style them in a certain way and have always checked in before doing anything drastic. They offer full service bath and grooms, just bath and brushes, and styling. We were able to get the Posey Cuts a few times and our dogs turned out great. I decided to try out Posey Pups after our previous groomer, Bessie (at Bessie's Grooming), got weirdly aggressive with us after her husband got attacked by a dog mid-groom (not our dog, but it felt like she was punishing everyone for one owner's mistake). Posey Pups is $150 (before tip) for my "Bernedoodle" to get a bath & groom, and it takes about 3 hours, and they do such a great job! As someone who had never had a "doodle"/poodle mix before, they were kind and patient with me (instead of condescending and judgmental) in teaching me about caring for my dog's daily brushing needs. My dog, Chestnut, is 80+ pounds and is still a puppy. Our previous groomer had traumatized her with cage drying, but Posey Pups, I think, has been very patient with her (i.e. if there have been any problems, I don't know about them). If you have a bigger and stronger dog like I do, I recommend you select Alex or Kevin as your groomer (the store specifically recommended them to me as well). I had originally asked Hye Lee to be my groomer the first time around, but I was told she actually found it immensely difficult to work with Chestnut because she's so big and strong and has puppy energy, and I'm not trying to make any of my dogs' groomers miserable! My usual groomer was fully booked for 2 months so I decided to try this salon per my friend's recommendation. I was able to get an appointment the day of, on a Saturday, and they took Dumbo, my dog, in with no delay. The male owner seemed very proud of all the groomer's experiences, and emphasized dumbo's groomer's history with show dogs and how good she is with dogs, assuring dumbo will be much less stressed after the groom compared to other salons. They're about twice the price of my usual place so I thought they must be very good. I didn't mind paying a lot of money for good service. They sent me a picture after the bath to let me know how dumbo is doing, which I appreciated, then sent me an estimated pick up time. I was able to pick dumbo up exactly at the pick up time, which I also appreciated. However, when I got home, I saw that his ears were a bit red and irritated and had some areas of blood. Dumbo was depressed and refused to eat/come out of under my bed. With my regular groomer, he usually just goes under the bed and comes out to eat but this time, he even refused to eat. Next day, I was checking him out and I found a red blister-like cyst on his right ear flap. I took him to the vet and they recommended excision and biopsy surgery. The vet said it was likely from bad grooming and that it's a hard area to do surgery on. While the vet assured that it is likely a benign histiocystoma, he said he couldn't be sure until the biopsy. Dumbo is an otherwise healthy male dog with no other medical history and this was the first time I had to go into the vet besides our annual check up. While Dumbo did look pretty and smelled nice after his full bath and groom + teeth cleaning, I will not be returning to this salon. I hope pet owners are vigilant about these kinds of incidents. read more

I waited a few weeks to write this review until my dog was better about MY experience. I wish I had a great experience like others but I've been in total shock due to the grooming experience I had at Posey Pups. To start, this was my first appointment with them. Setting up the appointment online was easy. You fill out a long questionnaire and they'll either send an email or text confirming. I scheduled my 7 pound Yorkie appointment for noon on January 23, 2022. I get to the appointment early so I waited in my car. At noon I entered the business and was greeted by Hayle. She appeared to be nice and experienced. We went over what I wanted to be done to my dog. I recently moved to a nearby area and my baby needed some care. She recommended cutting his body hair down with a #7 and she'll clean up the face. I said ok sounds good. I told her I gave him some anxiety meds to relax him about 40 minutes prior so she shouldn't have any major problems. Note: for my dog, it starts working within the hour. She said ok and that the service will take about 2 hours. I said no problem. I prefer the grooming specialist to take his/her time anyway. I drive away to run some errands. Unlike other reviews, I never received progress photos during the wait time or any other communication. One thing I am not fond of with any business is inconsistency. If you do for one customer, you do for all for a great customer experience. Nevertheless, I wasn't bothered by this. I didn't read anywhere on there website or in the establishment that it's policy to do so. I received a call around 2:04 pm that my baby was ready for pickup. During the call, the gentleman did not once mention any incident that happened during the service. When I walked in (I'd assume) the same gentleman who came to the front is the one who called me. He probably was the owner I don't know but he said my little guy's right ear was snipped with scissors by Hayle. (See Photo) This is probably why I didn't receive any progress photos. I asked how did it happen and then during his explanation walks in Hayle and she stated that my pup wiggled a lot and he quickly jerked his head while she was using the shears which caused him to get the snip. She said she applied pressure to stop the bleeding. I get things do happen but what she said next I was floored and it was unprofessional. Hayle went on to say my pup is "weird" and he doesn't like the cutting with shears but he was fine with the clippers and that she thinks the meds wore off. As if there's something wrong with my dog. First, his meds didn't wear off. If you don't have experience with handling different temperaments of dogs just say that. Second of all, don't be rude and name call. Hayle also said she wasn't able to complete the service. However, they charged me the full price of $75 and then gave me a $10 new customer discount. Which they probably give every customer since it's a new business. I even still tipped $5 for making me aware of the situation but honestly, it left a bad taste. No matter how many apologies the guy was giving me. When my dog was brought out he was trembling and he looked so scared. His body haircut was ok. The skin between his eyes was so red though. (See photo) This is because Hayle cut too close with the clippers. His right eye also looked irritated and inflamed. My little guy was so nervous and whiny he slept the whole ride home. Once he was back in the house I noticed he was very sensitive on his left front forearm and wrist and that his right eye didn't look right and wouldn't open. (See photo) I called my vet the next day when his eye still would not open. My vet gave me some phone advice to care for the cut on his ear and his right eye so that I would not have to pay for an emergency vet visit to be seen. I followed my vet's instructions and my little guy's eye cleared up in exactly five days and his ear developed a scab showing it was healing. My dog was off-putting for days after this appointment. Today he is fine and is back to his normal self. I, unfortunately, do not recommend Hayle and will never patronize this business again. They are AKC Safe certified. Which any grooming salon can be by taking a online class and passing the test. It's a safety course. What does mean a lot to me though is the level of experience and training the groomer has and I don't think she was it for me. I will take the hour drive back to his original groomer who services are over $100 but my dog was always happy before and after grooming service and he has never had an "incident" where he bled. I'll pay the extra money for a safe grooming experience and peace of mind elsewhere. read more

So... finding a groomer for my dog can be difficult because he can be difficult. I just relocated from California and I had a great groomer there so I knew it was going to be difficult to find a new groomer. I had gone to another groomer in the area but was not satisfied with their services because they ended up cutting my dog but never told me that he had a cut and there was blood on his WHITE fur. I get accidents happen but at least tell me instead of me finding out later that day. I decided to call Posey Pups first and spoke to the owner who was super informative and answered all the questions I had. I also asked about taking dogs that could be difficult like my dog can be, but he said to go ahead and bring him! In the past my dog is usually done no less than 2.5 hours, but they finished him in under 2 hours! I am so surprised and very happy with their service. I am so happy with Ozzy's full grooming service! I highly recommend Jamie. She is very kind, skilled, and efficient! Ozzy was pretty shaggy and matted and the full grooming service took 2 hours. Previous places I've taken Ozzy would take at least double the time (once he was at the groomers for 8 hours) and all they'd do is shave him down. I genuinely thought that making the switch to PoseyPups would be a great idea considering they claim to specialize in poodle breeds but boy was I WRONG!!!! I called and came in for an appointment today and off first glance, it seemed like an incredibly well put together business. I was greeted and was checked in and explained to the man at the front desk exactly what I wanted. I even showed him a picture of my pups previous cut to give him an idea of what look I was after. He then proceeded to check my dogs fur and explained how there were a few mattes (which I came in already aware of)but that he would take care of them... cool. About 20 mins later I get a call saying that he wanted to charge me $25 PER LEG to de-matte... that is ridiculous.... either that or he'd shave him down shorter than I wanted. I understand that it can be time consuming which is probably why they charge that price.. at the end of the day, they're after money.. so I chose to get him a little shorter because summer is coming. He then went on to explain how there was a matte near his muzzle too and that he would have to shave that but that he would blend the rest out to make it look not too noticeable... (come to find out he made no effort to do so) and we hung up. I then go to pick him up and off first glance he looked fine. a little shorter than I would've liked but at that point I just wanted to get my dog out of there. The man at the front then went on the explain how even HE could notice some uneven spots where the groomer didn't get simply because my dog gets a little anxious with groomers and that it surpassed their usual time limit that they spent on dogs (2 hours) which made absolutely no sense at all.... I got in the car and drove home and my dog seemed absolutely terrified the whole way. Took a closer look and they completely messed my dog up. They shaved the bottom of his ears and kept hair over it to make it look like it wasn't shaved. His ears are super uneven and you can just tell he's uneven everywhere. I paid $85 for a terrible cut.... words can't describe how furious I am..I will NEVER be bringing my dog here again and I don't recommend this place to anyone!!!! save yourself a trip, you're better off at the petsmart down the road!!!! read more

After reading most reviews on here, I knew I had to take my baby to get his hair done. Hye Lee is SO talented and really meticulous with her grooming style. They are total poodle/doodle experts, and know what they are doing!! The owner was so genuine and welcoming.. made me feel as if I had been going there for years!! It's amazing to finally not feel rushed and ignored when dropping off my pup. They all genuinely love animals so much and gave so much attention to my dog right away. I am DEFINITELY a long time customer now and will be looking forward to our next appointment. We took our Samoyed dog to Posey Pups today for a deshedding and a bathing treatment. This was the best experience we ever had at any other dog groomers. They were extremely gentle with the dog and went to extra detail in fixing the matting and other issues she had. Our dog has been going through a severe shedding season and Samoyed do have a lot of furr. Posey Pup has very professional staff and they simply took care in the best ways possible.
