Stayed for 3 days for a quick tour through Arches National Park. Excellent RV park, friendly staff and clean facilities. Been to dozens of RV parks from Alaska down to San Diego and this is the nicest facility we have visited. Thank you for an excellent visit to Moab.

HUGE cement space

This is a really beautiful RV resort. We chose the large, concrete, landscaped site. It shows up as R89 on their website but it was coded R2 when we got there. Stupendous! HUGE site, beautiful landscaping, grass dog parks! This has been one of the best RV resorts we have stayed at. If we are in this area again this will be our go-to park.

Came here for my husband's 50th birthday! The rental homes were HUGE and BEAUTIFUL!!!! The pool was right by the rental home- we rented 2. We were able to grill, had plenty of parking between the two homes, and everything was spotless!

Fantastic Park! You can't get a better location, a cleaner, well maintained facility then this. Staff was super nice. A mike from Arches NP & a super close to trails and town. I didn't want to leave. 20 mins from Canyonlands and about 10 to dead horse.

Hands down one of the best RV parks! Generous site space, perfect landscaping, fantastic pools and hot tubs, large clean bathrooms, friendly staff. We're already booked for our next visit.

Stayed here for almost 2 weeks end of April in spot R55. Not sure anyone was there as long/longer than us, as this seemed more like a "transient" campground. Not sure if all spots are Owner Owned, or if only certain ones are. Our spot, R55 was HUGE and Owner Owned (reservation was done online through Portal)! Enough room for our 43' Toy Hauler and Truck if we didn't want to disconnect. We did however disconnect because we had a separate parking spot right next to it. Starlink was blazing fast, and TMobile was just "Alright". Pool and Pickleball court was great. Showers were clean but water pressure was odd -- Would swap back and forth between hot and cold and could never be perfected without adjusting it over and over again. Staff was exceptionally friendly. As soon as someone moved out, staff would immediately clean up the site getting it ready for the next traveler. This is the most expensive CG we have ever stayed at. We did have issues with a ton of gnats, mosquito's (from the pond @ the back) and caterpillar's being born on the tree on our site. They were everywhere. All over our hoses, mats, etc.... We had to keep vents closed along with our rear patio because the gnats were relentless. We'd stay here again, but would try and find a site further away from the pond with no tree next to it due to caterpillars. We camped at Portal RV Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

This stay was absolutely amazing. I am genuinely confused as to the negative reviews regarding this stay is it was one of the nicest ever parks I have ever stayed at. The people were extremely kind and everything was spotless. I would highly recommend a stay here!!! 15/10!!!

Flooded site 52

We stayed here in the resort site one night on our way to Yellowstone National Park and two nights on our way home. We are in a 43 foot 5th wheel. The resort side has GORGEOUS concrete pull throughs and back ins. Lots of beautiful bushes surround the sites so it's really private. There's no shade however. The non resort side looks nice and offers water and electric but has gravel pads. There's a poo and spa, SUPER NICE bathrooms/showers and laundry facility. $7 total to wash and dry clothes. Nice pond area that supposedly has koi but I never saw any. On the non resort side there's a swimming pond for guests. If you're not staying on the resort side you don't get access to the pool and spa. We did have an issue the 1st night. In site 51 a flash flood came through with 2 feet of water and we awoke to a gooey muddy mess. I know it's not exactly the resorts fault but they should consider some kind of drainage remediation or diversion. (See pictures) PROS: Close to Arches. Level private sites. Pull thru with concrete pads and separate parking are a next to your site. Pool/spa for resort sites (note that you won't have access to the pool If you are not in the resort side). Trees are kept trimmed so you don't need to worry about scratching your campers. Turns are reasonably wide. Easy check-in. CONS: Hot tub needs resurfaced. Cow Manure smell can be gross. Flies and mosquitos are realllllly bad. Poor drainage. Not walking distance to town. COMPLAINTS: The cable was stripped and we couldn't ever get it to stay. On the morning after the flash flood it would've been nice to have someone offer to assist us in figuring out how to get out of the spot. Instead all that happened was some guy on a golf cart drove by and told us we couldn't pull thru because of the mud. We ended up a muddy mess. I'm not a whiner but I really do believe the employees should have been more proactive in helping us since ours was pretty much one of the only sites that had so much mud EVERYWHERE. At least an inch of mud surrounded our camper. Again, not their fault but they really could've been more helpful. STAY CLEAR OF SITE 52 DURING RAINY SEASONS. -1 star due to the lack of customer service after the flooding. I was really disappointed by that. We got a reminder call at 11:50 today that check out was at noon which is fine.. We pulled out at 1158. But it's outputting considering NOBODY called us after the flash flood filled our site with mud and probably cow manure from the neighboring pasture.

Super nice RV resort. We will definitively return. We didn't get to use the facilities because we just stayed one night.

This was the best RV resort in Moab. It's back off the highway and has a huge dog area. I would recommend it!

The mattresses are what you'd expect for staying off somewhere, not too hard but not too soft. We brought our own pillows so I can't speak to those. The bathroom has hand soap, shampoo, conditioner, and body wash. We didn't use the community areas, but the setup looks great and it has a grill. Cons: Cleanliness is lacking, there are cobwebs throughout. The floor needs a good vacuuming and a heavy mopping done. It looks like only spot cleaning is done when guests leave the property. Seeing the lack of cleanliness made me question if our sheets had actually been washed and that's a gross feeling. The bath tub has no stopper, but using a wash rag worked just fine. The hot water is lacking. A quarter of the way filling the tub the water turned cold, and it took a good 45 minutes for the water to heat back up. With three people needing to bathe/shower, it was problematic and very disappointing after a long day of being out in Arches N.P. Be sure to watch a YouTube video on the Hamilton Beach Brew Station coffee pot before using or you will have watered down cold coffee. Unfortunately, I did this after making our coffee, and wasted the coffee grounds and collagen powder I had brought. There is a lot of road noise, so if you're a light sleeper bring ear plugs. I don't think we will be back here again for the price we paid.

This review is for the tent camping, not the cabin or other rental options here (now HTR Moab)…read more The tent area is right next to the highway and it is LOUD since the trucks are engine braking downhill and shifting gears to go uphill. We stayed here two nights and slept terribly. Even with the free earplugs, we couldn't get a good nights sleep. Everything is so close together you also have no space from your neighbors. When we arrived someone else was encroaching in our site. The shared kitchen and bathroom facilities are nice, hence the 2 instead of 1 star.

Horsethief Campground is run by the Bureau of Land Management (BLM). Their mission is "To sustain the health, diversity, and productivity of the public lands for the use and enjoyment of present and future generations." I did copy their mission from their website, FYI. Horsethief caught our eye online immediately. Though it did not have any running water offered, it was open during the winter. It also had toilets on site, which was a win for us. We decided to drive to Horsetheif and check it out. They offer both campsites and RV sites, but with no hook ups. All sites are first come, first serve. Which was also fine with us, because again, we were planning on camping during the winter, during a time when they had just had a good amount of snowfall. I was told that it was an unseasonable amount for that area at this time. As we drove we made note of how close the campground was to both Canyonlands National Park and Dead Horse Point State Park. We were planning on visiting both parks, so this seemed ideal. When we pulled in, (and do not blink, you can easily miss the entrance), we knew we found our campground. It was breath taking. The area was spectacular. It was covered with pristine snow and had Pinyon trees all around. It was like we were the only people there, we felt so secluded and protected. We picked tent site 25 and it could not have been more perfect. When we stay at Horsethief again we will aim to get the same site. It was close enough to the bathroom and yet hidden. I fell in love with our site and that campground in the short time we were there. The cost is $20 per night for tent sites and you need to bring exact cash. You simply put your cash in the provided envelopes and drop it in the drop box. When we visited there were no pens/pencils, and we did not travel with any, but I hope they know that we were the ones that paid. Please if you stay a night at Horsethief, please pay your fee, the money goes directly to the BLM and that is how they support taking care of their land. It was magnificent and I can not wait to return.
