To cut to the point, do NOT trust HEC or use them. I have let all my industry friends and peers…read moreknow to avoid this company at all costs. Used this company three times and the last time they cancelled on me, rescheduled twice and didn't show up either time. Jeanette apologized and said she would make it right when we rescheduled. Yet they didn't show up. I called, texted and she ever got back to me. This is beyond unprofessional. They don't respect your time. I'm glad this happened because I found a new company and turns out HEC was scamming me and never did a proper cleaning. They're aware that we can't go up to the roof and check out the inside of the hood to make sure it had been cleaned properly. Therefore they take advantage of this and will charge you without giving you what you pay for. Each time different workers would come and finish within two hours which is strange since we have a large hood and cleaning it requires roof access as well. They aren't employing the right people - how can you be a professional commercial cleaning company without having the right staff? So be it they weren't even doing a proper cleaning, just pretending they were. The last time they sent two men who had just got out of jail and were in a rehab home (they men directly told us this, we aren't making it up). Not only did they not do a full proper cleaning, they "forget their ladder" and cleaned only the walls and filters of the hood in less than two hours and were "done." Yet I got charged full price and they said they offer a $50 discount for the next cleaning since they didn't have their ladder. The next appointment is the one they cancelled, rescheduled and never showed up to. All 3 times I used them they would leave a puddle of water on the floor and wouldn't clean up after themselves. The new company got so much grease out of the hood that I'm in awe of what a terrible job this place did. They even mentioned that it was so bad in the hood it hadn't been cleaned properly. (See photos of the amount of grease the new company got out!!!) They spent over 5 hours thoroughly cleaning our hood since HEC never did anything!!!! I do not recommend them under any circumstance for your regular hood cleaning services. Find a different company that values and cares for your business as much as you do.

However within minutes of reaching out to Elvira Ocean Air, I was able to speak directly with a representative. Sam was professional, courteous, promptly responded to calls and texts, and an expert in his craft. After not one, but two separate diagnostics of HVAC issues, he correctly and quickly figured out the problems and determined what parts needed to be replaced. Throughout the process he answered questions and was exceptionally considerate, providing cost-saving alternatives that would have likely added up to a small fortune from someone else. In less than 24 hours my heater was up and running, just in time to ward off the chill of a storm! Compassion, being willing to share knowledge, and generosity such as this are exceptionally rare qualities in the trades industry, but Sam has them in spades! He takes pride in a job well done, he is reliable, and pricing is reasonable. If you are looking for an HVAC guy on Yelp right now, why is it that you don't already have someone you can use? Is this your first time needing HVAC repair? Or have you not been able to find someone you can trust? My guess is you haven't been able to find someone you can trust. So you keep trying new people, only to get disappointed again and again. As a property manager, I've had to deal with many service companies over the years. HVAC technicians, plumbers, painters, etc. And I know from experience, many service people will low-ball you on the front end to engage you, and then make up their money later when you're not scrutinizing their pricing. Charles is NOT one of these people. He will be straight with you. He will tell it how it is, and is too busy serving his happy repeat customers to waste time playing games. Chales shows up on time, he gets the job done quickly, he's very competent in his craft. And you will learn he's honest and consistent, which spares you time in getting 2nd and 3rd bids on every job. So overall, a terrific value.

Some months back, I had trouble with one of my units. As some of the other Yelpers have pointed out, some of these HVAC companies are hard to get a hold of. It seems there is high demand for HVAC services. Truman Air was not difficult at all. I was on three waiting lists for appointments 3 and 4 weeks out... Truman came within 2 days of our first contact. I was dreading the cost of the repair but the guys went on the roof and diagnosed the problem in like 10 minutes. The capicitor had burnt out. For much less than I had anticipated spending and within 10 more minutes the HVAC was humming again! Thanks Charles! Now, one of my other units has gone bad altogether. It must be replaced. It's 30 years old. The last guy that replaced a unit took 3 weeks to get one and another 3 weeks before he could come out to install it. Charles came the day after I called and will be installing the new unit this week! You will be hard pressed to find a company that comes out as quickly and is willing to do the job immediately, especially for such competitive pricing. If I could give these guys more stars... I would!
