Coffee to go
Marie P.

I've only been to this PCJ once and they met my needs. I came in with a special request. I had won a raffle basket that included bags of whole PCJ coffee beans and I needed them ground. They were able to do this quickly and without issue. I got an iced coffee with vanilla syrup. They have added milk by default at other locations, so I didn't ask for it. When I discovered they didn't include it, the quickly corrected the issue. I also got an Americano. It ended up being watered down from all the crushed ice in the drink. When I forgot to scan my rewards card before paying, they didn't have any way to fix the issue. I was extremely happy about the fact that they filled my request and the rest of my experience was just okay:

I've loved PCJ since 2013 and every time I'm in Wilmington I HAVE to stop by! Everything I've ever had is amazing. From their Mocha Shake, Black & Tan and now the Iced Chai & the BYO Breakfast Sandwiches. This last time I ordered my chai with oat milk and my everything bagel had cheese, chicken sausage and an egg. It was the perfect breakfast to take to the beach!

Asiago Bagel

I tried this place for the first time today and it must say it was pretty good! I got a medium ice caramel leche and a Asiago cheese bagel toasted. The ice coffee was so good! There was caramel in every sip! The bagel was cheesy and yummy! My fiancé got a bagel with cheese, egg, and sausage and he said it was very good! We did order online and it was ready when we got there!

Port City Java has always treated me well. Now I only get it when I visit. I hate that Yelp and a minimum amount I have to write. Just come get some coffee

We finally had an opportunity to stop in and try this place out…read more They have outside seating and some comfortable couches inside. We started with the Bori bori coffee, a mixed fruit smoothie, guava pastry, cheese and guava pastry and a cookie. Service was quick and everyone was friendly. We asked for our pastries to be warmed up because we like them like that. They were good and very fresh. I was hopping for more guava and that's the only reason I rated the place a 4. We are used to having our guava pastries full of guava, that when you take a bite it spills over on the sides! It is nice place to come in and have a coffee and pastry, they also have the lunch truck outside which is great because we have had their food and it's full of flavor. They had other Spanish pastries, so maybe on my next visit we will try them out!

They offered a variety of homemade pastries, guava, or guava and cheese, different types of flan vanilla or coconut, vanilla, then different coffees. I got the white chocolate bori. There is also a food truck outside for more Puerto Rican delicacies either way it was nice to see another home town locally owned Cafe versus another franchise even though I do love Port city Java. This is a hidden gem.

Yet, the ambience inside has a cozy and inviting home presence with a comfortable leather couch, festive home decor & furniture, and friendly staff. Jesalyn, our server, was very amicable, calm, professional, and recommended the Winter Wonderland seasonal coffee with chocolate & hazelnut flavors. We both ordered it and spent about two hours there. Service was efficient yet peaceful even when there was a flow of traffic after we were served. Time flew fast there and yet the environment always maintained a sense of serenity despite the flow of people coming in the coffeehouse. There are different vendors with many items to select for purchase from art to accessories. The colorful bags with the smiley faces promoting mental health awareness caught my eye at one of the vendor areas there. I love that the coffeehouse is veteran owned, decorated for Christmas, and has an eclectic mix of handmade items and local art pieces. This is definitely a local business & coffeehouse to visit again in the future.

From leather sofas, cute table sets, meeting rooms, and Christmas decor, you get a real sense of peace and comfort. The seasonal coffee with chocolate undertones was a delight and was what I needed from such a long drive. We spent over two hours here taking photos and seeing family. The staff here are welcoming and so generous. The business supports Veterans and offers military discounts! Can't wait to meet Eric, the owner someday to thank him for his service and as a fire fighter. True American hero. Jesalyn, served us our coffee and assisted with all sorts of keto friendly options such as sugar free flavored syrups. Delicious! I suggested to have old Christmas favorites playing on the television such as Miracle on 34th Street or It's a Wonderful Life, the. I would have asked for a job and never left. The business supports local venders and community by selling a variety of favorites such as cute smiley face hand bags, jam, mugs, art work, photos, cards, and other gifts. Suggest stopping in for a coffee or setting up your workspace and sitting for a while.

This place is extremely popular, and I've visited multiple times before, including their coffee…read moreshops. A majority of the staff were welcoming, but when we first arrived, no one acknowledged or greeted us for about five minutes while we waited to be seated. Mind you, there was a line so acknowledging our presence would have been appreciated. There were also quite a few dirty tables that had not been cleared, which seemed to delay seating for everyone. I'm not entirely sure how their first-come, first-served policy works, but when it was our turn as a party of two, we were told the wait would be another 30 minutes. I had pointed at a table that people were sitting at and were boxing food and I asked if this table was available. She said no because that table was a table for four. I've actually been here with my husband and sat at said table of four. The party of four behind us was seated immediately, at that table. I completely understand that larger tables are often reserved for bigger groups, especially during busy hours, but it became frustrating when we ended up waiting over an hour for our food. The table seated after us had already eaten, paid and left before we even received our meals. There were also several careless mistakes throughout the experience. My cup arrived with lipstick stains and smudges on it. They did apologize and replace it immediately, which I appreciated. A dishwasher not washing a lipstick stain is not really in their control, but it is in their control to serve me a dirty glass. When my food arrived, it was completely covered in sesame seeds to the point that it looked excessive and unintentional. My husband actually watched the girl, who was the one in charge I guess of filling sauce and grabbing dishes from the kitchen, dump the sesame seeds onto the plate, and even our waiter, who was not the person handling the dish, agreed that it looked drenched in them. They corrected the issue for us, but for a meal that cost over $100 (including tip, for a table of 2) without alcohol, I expected more attention to detail. They were all really understanding of the issues and corrected them. On top of that, someone who was not our server added two extra drinks to our bill when we were paying. That was $11 on our bill. Again, mistakes happen, especially in busy restaurants, but after multiple issues throughout the meal, it started to feel careless rather than accidental. I do appreciate that staff tried to fix the problems when we brought them up, but I wish there had been more mindfulness and attention to detail overall.

That is a grocery shopping experience for a gluten free diet person for two . Yes you can eat that way if ya know what, how and where to find your food from. It's a place I'd personally rather visit once in a blue moon. My Italian heritage and visiting Italy I will cook and eat Italy way! The location is super cozy with an inviting space perfect for your WFH day or to meet up with friends. Let's start with the highs! The pizza dough and country loaf are perfect. Our family really enjoyed stretching the dough, creating the pizza shape we wanted, and then adding our toppings. I will say try to make it on the thinner side so that it will bake all the way through on the baking stone. The raisin bread loaf has great flavor, however the loaf I received was too overdone, almost burned. This has made it unpleasant to eat for our family. When I stopped in to pick up these items I also grabbed a savory danish egg & cheese and a caramel latte. Both were delicious!
