We were booked for 10 AM on a Sunday and were the only ones in our group. Inside the play area, there are five stations for five of the pups, plus the "lookout" area. Marshall does not have a station, just as an FYI. Rocky's station was partially broken when we visited, but ultimately my son still had a good time. There were 3 slides, a magnatile/block area, a recycling game where you toss recycling into different baskets, an obstacle course, and a go-kart area. Most areas skewed a bit young - more like 3-5. The go-karts were a huge hit with my 5 year old, though I imagine this would be a hard activity if you went at a busy time. The whole thing was just an open play session. You can get stamps for completing each of the "missions" (really just playing at the different stations), but largely your kid can be left to their own devices. Staff were mostly nice. Some were a bit aggressively trying to joke with my son and couldn't quite pickup that he was NOT into it. I had to just escort him away. For the most part, however, everyone was very helpful and welcoming. The toy store itself offers a decent selection of toys, and they have lots of things out to play with. There is also an area to create your own slime and various crafts you can do as well (for an extra charge). The Paw Patrol area is $35 per ticket (adults must purchase a ticket as well) plus a $7 fee when purchasing online. This felt a little steep for a one hour open play session, but my kid had a great time. I'd say for a special outing it was worth it, but I don't know that it offers enough to warrant repeated visits.

The…read moreselection was OK...found a few different cards that I thought about purchasing until I saw the prices. Geez- I could make my own invitations that would be just as cute and about 1/4 of the price at kinkos! I did notice that they sell Crane's paper, which would increase their rating in my mom's book (she has a thing for Crane's). The sales guy could have been a bit friendlier as well...he answered my questions, but didn't go out of his way to help me. His mistake because with a little help I probably would have bought my invitations here! Edit 5/31: Stopped back in here today to buy a card and the sales associate was much friendlier this time (maybe cause I bought something?). I mentioned I was in the process of moving and he even offered me empty boxes from the back!

There's quite a bit of waiting around for the candle to solidify before you decorate it. They have so many choices including different stones, glitter, and shells for decorating. I had a flight early in the morning, so I didn't do that, but I recommend it if you're visiting or just want a nice nigI bought this BEAUTIFUL book of Chicago street photography here for only $40. I say only $40, bc I plan on neatly tearing out several of the pages & framing them. It's such a beautiful book. I bought a Chicago recycled tote bag (that can be folded, & apparently used to be a water bottle!), a Cloud Bar coffee mug (bc it holds way more than 8 ounces & is such a beautiful ombré blue), & a Chicago photography book (the last one available for the night). The clothing items are priced fairly high, the hoodies are about $60-80. If you really want some high quality and low cost Chicago apparel, hit up the 24-hr Walgreens that's only a few blocks down the street. They have shirts, mugs, etc for like $10-20. HOWEVER! I gave this place 5 stars bc of the employee who helped me w the book. It wasn't priced (w a tag/sticker) but it was also the very last one on the shelf - it was found on display, so it wasn't even on the shelf. She noticed it wasn't a new edition so she actually called Cloud Bar (at the top floor) to see if they had any extra copies so that I could get a new one. Her taking the time & effort to do this without me even mentioning anything or asking her to do that was exceptionally thoughtful & kind. I presume they sell this same book at the Cloud Bar at the top of the building. She was on the phone for a bit, but they didn't have any new editions for me. I honestly am in LOVE with the book - it's absolutely stunning, the photography is so beautiful and will forever serve as a reminder of why I love Chicago so much & why I want to make this city my home either for medical school or for my life after that. I attached photos of the book. I'm so sorry I didn't get your name (the employee at the front desk), but I really appreciate your hospitality.
