1/17/26 Great experience at Graham Crackers Comics. Awesome selection, great prices, well organized store, friendly and very knowledgeable staff who are happy to help without pressure. Whether you're browsing or looking for something specific, this is a must stop spot for comic fans in Chicago. Highly recommend!

We love this shop. It's a quick and simple drop-in to find your stuff. Fyi - Depending the day, wait times might get crazy.

Stopped by since my hotel was nearby. They have this place packed out with merchandise. You really could spend all day here and still have missed a few items. Definitely a great spot to passively browse or find specific items.

Really nice experience here. The crew was informative and very sweet! They have great funko pops as well. I just like to find things to pin to my wall so I usually explore the sale items and I was able to get me some cool ones!I definitely have to be back for more next time!

The store has a good selection of comics and also a good collection of dust. I don't think it's got a proper cleaning in about 2 years. They could use a dehumidifier in there so you could actually breathe better. And also the air conditioning, if they have one, could use a fresh filter. Not that many action figures but we did find some unique finds. Staff was friendly enough.

When I'm in Chicago, I definitely always try to stop in Graham Crackers Comics at least once. For one, it's in a perfect spot in the city, close to all the fun touristy stuff, so why not add shopping for new comics and toys into my vacation? The store is very neatly organized with new comics displayed in one area and older titles boxed and stored in others. In the back they have a section of discounted comics as well. They've got graphic novels and toys as well, which includes a pretty decent selection of Funko Pop toys. The staff is always super helpful and friendly, even if I'm just browsing and not sure if I'm going to walk out spending anything. The prices are reasonable and overall it's just a fun place to browse around at.

I absolutely Graham Crackers Comics located in downtown Chicago! On a recent visit, I was finished taking my pictures of The Bean and had procured my Starbucks, when, Holy Rusted Metal, Batman!, is that a comic book store? Yes, true believer, it certainly is! My favorite job EVER was working in a comic book store. Therefore, I know the goods when I see them. Decent wall of new titles - check! Nice selection of back issues - check! Great array of everything from graphic novels to toys to statues to storage supplies - check! Fan boys and girls, you've got a winner here at GCC. If I lived nearby, this would be my regular stop every Wednesday for new comic book day. Respect.

Returns are store credit only. WHAT?! Any place that has a return policy like this is a big thumbs down. I'll go elsewhere.

There were a good amount of back issues I was interested in, but so many weren't bagged and boarded and were definitely beginning to show some shelf wear. The bigger issues, though, is that nothing is clearly organized by series--or even publisher. There had clearly been some attempts to sort things out, but without any major success. It was frustrating to say the least. The owner was nice and happy to talk to you, and his interactions with other customers of varying sorts were very friendly as well. Sadly, there was a very offering radio station playing the whole time I was there detailing 9/11 conspiracies and whether or not Hunter Biden should be in jail. The owner said it was really just 'background noise,' but it sort of started to weird me out a bit. Regardless, i found a few books I wanted and decided to head out. At checkout, I paid with cash and wasn't charged any additional sales tax--which I always appreciate.

They said the order was for pickup only, even though there was no indication for it being a pickup only. I asked the guy if I could at least get a refund and he never responded. It was only $10 bucks so it's not like the end of the world. But still very unprofessional behavior. EDIT AFTER RESPONSE: Thanks for proving my point of how unprofessional you really are. I leave one 1-star review in the middle of the night and within moments you respond with a passive aggressive essay. You already have five stars for your business and you immediately attack any 1-star reviewers like they personally insulted you. Ever hear of 'customer courtesy'? All you told me via email is that my order was cancelled. That's it. Depending on the buisness, an order can be cancelled but not refunded. All I wanted was clarification whether I was getting my money back or not. You NEVER RESPONDED. What was I supposed to assume? And what's that petty 1-star review comment? Should I have given you a higher rating? Why? I ordered an item, waited, asked for updates on the item's delivery, got my order cancelled, and never got a response afterwards. Does any part of that sound remotely pleasant? It honestly wasn't even that big a deal for me, but the fact that you replied within moments to me with an extremely petty essay means you MADE IT a big deal. Learn to take criticism. EDIT RESPONSE 2: "full of misleading and erroneous information". I accidentally said months instead of weeks. Nothing else was a lie. I didn't know I got my money back until I made a 1-star review on your comic shop. Once again, I asked via email to CLARIFY whether I got a REFUND or not. You NEVER replied to me. I only know now because I got a response from a business owner or manager who can't handle one ounce of criticism. "This is obviously "that big of a deal" for you, because here you are, almost 2 months later, well after you were refunded, denigrating a business that handled your mistake in minutes." I'm back 2 months later because I thought I should tell others about my experience. I saw how unprofessionally you respond to all other low rating comments. I wanted to give the benefit of the doubt that you would've changed and I wouldn't be screamed at for my review. But here we are. Your acting like I made a scathing review of your store that will make it fall into complete bankruptcy. I made one review saying I wasn't satisfied with your store, get over yourself. Once again, that is the MINIMUM of what you should do. If I go to McDonalds, order something, and there was a mistake of some kind, it's the MINIMUM of the McDonald employees to fix the mistake. You act like fixing a mistake should be seen as an outstanding achievement and not a standard business practice. Do you honestly believe I should've given you five stars because you did the very minimum of your job? Unbelievable. I tried out your company, I was unsatisfied, and I'm giving it the score I believe it deserves based on my experience. Accept it and move on.

These guys had prints that I haven't been able to locate at other shops, and everything was extremely well organized. Books were in great condition, and the staff were so kind and helpful. Very much a "reader's" comic shop, but they have tables set up for your D&D game or Magic or really whatever your fancy is. Best of all, the prices are fair, and you'd be hard pressed to find a better value in the area. I'll definitely be back. I would die for more time to dig through their back issues.

First, their store credit policy makes no sense: you can't use it on "premium" items, which defeats the purpose of having store credit at all. On top of that, when I sold them some premium Magic: The Gathering cards, the prices I was given were for the wrong versions. Because I had my three kids with me at the time, I didn't notice until later, but it felt dishonest and not worth the argument. What bothered me most, though, was how they treated me as a newer customer. I stood waiting for about 15 minutes with my kids while staff ignored me to casually chat and eat with tournament patrons who weren't even doing business at the time. They had recognized me, but still dismissed me while I was clearly trying to complete a transaction. It made me feel like my time -- and my business -- weren't valued. Most of the staff were nice, but the older bald gentleman was rude and dismissive, which really stood out. Between the poor credit rules, the card pricing issue, and the way I was treated as a customer, I can't recommend Thunder Comics. If they want to encourage more sales and playtime in their store, they should focus more on being fair, welcoming, and attentive -- especially to new customers
