Long hair white male behind the counter was loudly speaking on how he was apart of the no kings march and was expressing how he was telling protesters that "trump won" and went on to share how he was approached by a protester and "they weren't gonna do shit to me. They are a few blocks from where I work. Helpful staff and a large selections of comics and graphic novels. They also have some posters and various other items. I've recently starting reading comics again. Haven't since I was a child and there are more choices now. I wish they had some events such as comic book signing, meet and greet authors or illustrators, etc. If they don't have what I'm interested in stock they have been able to get it. read more

The overall store is not stuffy, and is also extremly relaxed creating a welcoming environment. The people at the front desk are fantastic, with giving me good opportunities to try new things on Saturday. read more

The store has a good selection of comics and also a good collection of dust. I don't think it's got a proper cleaning in about 2 years. They could use a dehumidifier in there so you could actually breathe better. And also the air conditioning, if they have one, could use a fresh filter. Not that many action figures but we did find some unique finds. Staff was friendly enough. read more

When I'm in Chicago, I definitely always try to stop in Graham Crackers Comics at least once. For one, it's in a perfect spot in the city, close to all the fun touristy stuff, so why not add shopping for new comics and toys into my vacation? The store is very neatly organized with new comics displayed in one area and older titles boxed and stored in others. In the back they have a section of discounted comics as well. They've got graphic novels and toys as well, which includes a pretty decent selection of Funko Pop toys. The staff is always super helpful and friendly, even if I'm just browsing and not sure if I'm going to walk out spending anything. The prices are reasonable and overall it's just a fun place to browse around at. read more

WTF?! I didn't review this place in the all the years I've strolled through it. But that's what it is. Because it's smack downtown Julie Brown it's like your on the same pace as walking outside. Brisk, tsk, yada yada bisque. This store actually has a lot of cool features like 75 cent bin formerly 50 cent. Covid even influenced the bargin bin prices of comic stores so you know times is hard and serous! Still, you might find something in those bins. There's also some collectible toys and some key issues (that Graham Cracker price doe, meaning NONSENSE), but still lots of comics and trade paperbacks. I wish there was more deals on comics you could find. Like decent prices, but at any Graham Crackers that ain't the business model. STill a decent comic store and 1 is needed at least in the area so four stars for that. Now if only they would put an arcade here and let me DJ read more

Our family popped in here because our kids love comics and we wanted to see what they had. It's a little cluttered but they have so many comics everywhere and also graphic novels. We could have stayed forever reading comics and exploring because the store is larger than it looks. Definitely will come back when we have more time. read more

I'm gonna be honest, I'm not the most knowledgeable on comics. The first time I walked in (in a long time) was to buy Daredevil#1 (2022). The man at the register was very kind and told me I was buying a good issue, staring Zdarsky is a good writer. I let him know I haven't read daredevil at all. The man immediately told me I can always ask questions when ever I come, he also told me first issues are a good jumping in point since it's the start of new stories and arcs. I've been coming in every weeks since then and he has greeted me every time I walk in, I wish I knew his name because I'd love to give him the shout out! The store is always organized and the employees never seem to be in a bad mood or make anyone feel unwelcome. I love coming to this location as I start my journey into comics, highly recommend this store! read more

Stellar selection, friendly staff, good amount of independent comics and all the other fun tidbits. The only issue I have with the place is that they showcase ultra rare comics... but with absurd values that are above and beyond their true value. It is bogus to charge full secondary value when you control all the purchasing power to get them at below MSRP, but it's a whole different level to inflate those prices more. It's awesome to see rare comics in person, but keep the prices competitive. Beyond that, awesome shop with awesome people. read more

On a recent visit, I was finished taking my pictures of The Bean and had procured my Starbucks, when, Holy Rusted Metal, Batman!, is that a comic book store? Yes, true believer, it certainly is! My favorite job EVER was working in a comic book store. Therefore, I know the goods when I see them. Decent wall of new titles - check! Nice selection of back issues - check! Great array of everything from graphic novels to toys to statues to storage supplies - check! Fan boys and girls, you've got a winner here at GCC. Having ordered a few things from these guys online I was excited to see that their store front was but a few blocks away from where I was staying while in Chicago. They don't have a huge space, however they utilize the room the have well and have an exceptionally large display of new releases. In addition to the new releases they are just like any other comic store and have back issues stored in comic boxes in another part of the store and display some higher end/graded books behind a couple of the counters that they have. Healthy supply of comic related collectibles. Lots of marvel and dc figures displayed through out the store. Staff was very friendly and I had three different people ask if they could help me with anything. One, even recognized by my non-Chicago accent that I wasn't from the area and engaged me further about where I was from and what kind of comic stores we had, etc. Good experience and will be returning next time i'm in the area. read more

This place has a surprisingly high amount of Doctor Who merchandise, to my delight. They had a lot of the older figures that I haven't seen in a long time. One box had all of the 10th Doctor's companions! The rest of the store is cool too. They have Funko Pops as well as a decent selection of manga books. Now, I'm not a comic/Anime guy but I visited this place earlier today and the first thing that came to my mind is "WOWIE!" The store isn't super huge but it's got alot of comic books, pop action figures and nic nacks mainly. They got great specials and even a section full of dollar comic books. I have been a fellow comic collector for over 36 years and 30 of those years have been with Graham Crackers Comics in Naperville and my home base, the Chicago Loop location. Convenient, friendly and always have enough books - if they are out of an issue - they will do their best on tracking you a copy! I love this comic shop!!!! Earl, Kirk and the rest of the gang are very helpful and knowledgeable. Good selection, old and new comics, toys and collectibles. Single issues and graphic novels. But we love the experience of going to the comic books store - reminds you of the days of visiting the corner comic book store. I have been coming to this comic shop for a couple years now and it's a cool little place especially, for being located downtown! With all these big stores and fancy restaurants downtown, it pretty awesome to have a little comic book shop right in the middle of it all. I don't read comics as much as I use to but, I do still like to pop in every once in a while and check out what's come out. I mostly buy graphic novels and manga when I am looking for something to read and they do have a good selection of both. Even when I was looking for something specific and they don't have it in, they were still able to order it for me. They also have a pretty good amount of back issues to check out there too. I like browsing the collectibles they sell to either purchase as gifts for other people or to buy for myself. My last visit there was to actually get my girlfriend a little gift for our date to see Alien Covenant. She is a very big fan of the Alien movies so I wanted to get her something fun for the showing! Can you say RIPLEY? I do wish they had a little bigger selection for their collectibles but, what they have is still pretty neat. The staff there is always friendly and willing to answer any of your questions. They will help try to find what you are looking for and even give recommendations on new things to read. If you are in the downtown area, you should come check them out. They even have events such as signings by comic book artists and creators from time to time. read more

I love this place! It is (by far), the BEST comic book store I have EVER been too - so far. The staff was courteous, friendly, knowledgeable, and very, VERY helpful. Being a "DAREDEVIL" fan, I purchased as many comics my wallet allowed me to. It's easy to get to and they'll even check your bag at the counter (a courtesy, but more of a shoplifting prevention if anything. They've got a HUGE selection of comics, and even more in the back. Wowzaz! What a fantastic comic book store! Caught this little gem out of the corner of my eye while eating across the street at Panera Bread. This store is well organized & categorized. They have an amazing selection of toys, comics, graphic novels, trades, knick knacks, masks, shirts, and novelties. While in there, keep an eye out for the showcase of local Chi-Town artists'/writers' works and books. (Personal favorite was the Adult Activity Book.) #SupportLocalArtists. As soon as I walked in I found a crazy selection of some missing Variants from my collection. Was super stoked to see them AND decently priced. Bring your own shopping bag because the bag tax is present in Chicago like in California. Popped in here randomly to grab some Pop Figures for a gift. When I walked in I asked where they were and a gentleman unenthusiastically pointed in a general direction. I didn't find their selection to be as good as other places, even Walgreens. They had a lot of duplicates, so I suggest not ordering so many of one at a time. I was perusing their comic books but had a hard time navigating around; some more signage would have been helpful labeling the shelves. They do have a good selection of those though, and a wide variety. However, what got to me was that I was wandering around looking for a specific figurine and not a single staff member asked me if I needed help. They didn't see too approachable so I just kept on until I found it on my own. Overall, this place has a lot of potential, just could use some reorganization help. read more

I loathe this location. The people in here are rude if they acknowledge you at all. I'm sure they get a fair share of tourists off Madison, but some of us are actually looking! Or maybe it's because I'm a girl and I don't know anything about comics, but that's a whole other argument. Your trades are usually a wreck and lacking. I would order something if I don't see it but I can't get you to acknowledge my presence. Moving on. I'll give another one of your locations my money, or a whole other LCS for that matter. Ok I didn't know comic book stores like this exeisted, I was suprissed to find out it was a chain though. i am glad it is a chain to an extent because it offers a service that doesn't seem like one. They have comics for all levels. Want to invest in a 1K plus comic they have it. Want some collectibles like you would see on "Big Bang Theory"?, they have it Want a $1 piece of comic pop culture?, they have it. Picked up advanced showing tickets for Guardians of the Universe with an additional free movie pass of our chosing, not a bad deal at all and makes me a winner with my son. Okay, okay, so I'm one of them thar tourists from back east. I can understand why the folks running the joint have a cold / distant demeanor towards me, but come on! I went in hoping to strike up some small talk concerning various comic series and all I got was a "..." I purchased two TPB's & spent a total of 10 minutes in the store. It's a rather short amount of time when compared to the half hour or so I spend in stores near where I live. On the plus side, it's well-lit, I found a hard-to-find trade, and it's not far from areas tourist scum such as myself would loiter around. On the minus side....everything else? There's a small indie section, but they're mostly stocked with books from the big two. Some trades aren't exactly in great condition. The store has the feeling of your significant other's mom staring down at you and judging you. read more

Finally walked in after 3 years of passing this every day leaving my house: what a prime location for a shop! Wall-to-wall comics! Pretty comprehensive collection and even better that the staff all seem like true comic aficionados and know their stock well. Nice displays showing the best comic novels of all time, unfortunately some are out of print but they are still honored. Helpful service and nice people. The building itself is a little worn but this is not the focus. read more
