Sharon is awesome! I came here last year to get my second nose piercing and I love it! Made an appt to get an industrial piercing. She looked at my ear and told me I didn't have the anatomy for it. But that we could do an alternative option, scheduled an appt. I was nervous! I had 9 piercings prior but still nervous. Shared that piercing takes a while to heal on me so she gave me advice on it. The piercing itself was quick and 2/10 painful, nothing too bad. I asked for a stress ball and her husband gave me one. It helped lol. But when I got there I talked to Shannon--who stayed late for this--and she was totally straight up about what piercings I had the anatomy for and didn't, as well as what piercings where safe and would last. I was ready to get inked right then, but they had other plans. I had a $300 gift card. They said to give them the gift card as a deposit. When I went back, the price now had jumped to about $1750! The tattoo I have is not a cartoon and if you had read the review I wrote, you would have seen I wanted realism.    This is what I got.  Furthermore,  I never explained the whole story behind the tattoo.  So Tenchu is the only thing you have to go on.  The character name is the only thing the game and tattoo have in common. Number three: Your words of calling me a liar will not go uncheck.  I was here at this tattoo three different times.  The first meeting with the manager who looked like a biker.  The second time for the tattoo. The third time for the coloring.    I am happy you don't get board at doing the same tattoos over and over again. I really wanted a helix piercing, so I looked up reviews on different tattoo/piercing shops around this area and happened upon Pop's. I don't have a car so it was about a 20 min walk to get there from the closest metro stop (Forest Glen) but it was a straight shot and not difficult to find. The shop had a clean environment and overall was an easy/enjoyable experience. They give you some salt to mix with water after getting the piercing with instructions on how to take care of your new piercing. He put a lot of work, dedication, and effort into this piece. If you want to get a fresh design, then Sol's your guy. I was a little hesitant about coming because of the reviews and the exterior, but I'm definitely glad I came! I came as a walk-in for a double helix and from what I can tell, the tattoo artists are also the piercers so they pretty much have a piercer available at all times (which is great because I called 3 other shops and their piercers only worked weekends, but I could be wrong so don't quote me). The exterior seemed a little sketchy to me, but the interior was very nice and clean. I read all the old reviews and I guess personnel must've changed because I had great customer service. The receptionist was very sweet and so were the other artists. My piercer was Chuck. He was great, very kind, helpful, and made sure I got exactly what I wanted in terms of positioning of the piercings. Pricing was amazing! I expected to pay about $80-$100 max but it ended up being less than that b/c they gave me a discount since I was getting 2 done so it was only $60 so that made me extremely happy Overall, I had a great experience and will definitely come back again read more

I waited from 12:30-1:40 to get my piercing done 12/16/22. Now I knew that I was early by coming at 12:30 I was told to come at 1 but Shannon was late that's not the problem I was doing a walk in I didn't have an appointment. No one noticed I was there until about 12:45 no one was at the receptionist desk.When the guy did come out he let me know that Shannon would be a couple minutes late. A couple minutes turned into 25. My problem is that once Shannon came in she immediately went to the girl who came in 30 minutes after me to have her sign in and apologize about the long wait and hope that she wasnt waiting long. When it came to me it was just oh I assume you're looking for me?!? I asked are you Shannon and she said yes and I just smiled and nodded. Any who Once I was in the back I told Shannon my concerns about my last piercing (done out of town) which was noticeably crooked (tongue ring). She said she would make sure it wasnt and that it shouldn't come out that way if it's done right. I trusted that Shannon wouldn't disappoint me due to the wonderful reviews she has. But long and behold she definitely gave me yet another VERY crooked piercing and then lied to my face and said oh it just looks crooked because of the swelling. (Yes I did let her know that I knew) (Although I was upset and worried I kept my composure because I refuse to act out in an establishment. Now I see why they make you pay upfront) No Shannon it's crooked and you didn't use the correct bar and because it is swollen and crooked it won't heal right I will have to remove it. Something else I noticed was that Shannon has extremely shaking hands doing my piercing. Once I got back on my side of town I stopped by a piercing shop that I frequent ( they didn't have the correct bars at the time so they couldn't do it but they've done all my other new piercings PERFECT) they told me basically it was done wrong and yes it is very crooked and the wrong bar was used it should be longer for swelling. Waste of time,I never received an apology and waste of money. I even gave her a tip but that was because I had to pay upfront and she has good reviews. This is just my experience and I won't let anyone downplay what I went through. No I would not give a recommendation but if you want to take a chance I say hey go for it. Always read ALL reviews good and bad not everyone is making things up. So here I am again because I see that because I wouldn't allow Chad the owner to do my piercing over or take my review down now I am made out to be the bad guy. Still never received an apology but I see he ran back to yelp because i refused another service. Make it make sense please And why would someone ask SEVERAL times if I liked the piercing if nothing was wrong? If you look on the camera downstairs by the door (if there is one) I took out my phone and kept looking at my crooked piercing and decided to go on about my day and just remove it. I only asked for a refund because Chad asked how to make the situation better when he texted me after reading my review. Also if it was done correctly why did Chad ask to redo it or do my next two for free or a small tattoo? That doesn't make sense if it was done correctly now does it? But anything to keep the customers coming right? I asked for a refund but all Chad was worried about was my review and taking it down. Within the past week or so, I have been looking to get a new tattoo, my 4th, and wanted it to be something really special, as although I plan on getting a lot of work done one day, I simply don't have the cash rn to afford to do anything huge like a sleeve. I was checking out shops and came across Pops as it is close to my college, and was able to get in as a walk in the same day. Sol was my artist, and he was just finishing up a client when I arrived. I had decided on doing an atomic bomb tattoo, like an old warhead, on my upper belly/ribcage area, and we quickly came up with a design that I liked, as it was modeled after the fat man bomb from WW2. The tattoo turned out amazing, and we both loved how it looked. Hopefully I can come back soon, as id like to add an explosion behind the warhead. I came here one weekend night after work to get a forward helix piercing and a regular helix piercing. The location of the shop was in the cut, when I arrived downstairs, a nice lady named Monica let me in. I filled out the paperwork, paid and waited for her while she set up. Unfortunately, she couldn't do the forward as I think she was still in training so I was fine with a double cartilage. The piercings were virtually painless and it's been over two weeks and they barely hurt, no crust or anything gross. This might be the first time I've had piercings done that have never acted up! I'm guessing it's a combination of technique and maybe earring material but it's amazing. I'd definitely come back here again for piercings. read more

First off, I want to show SOME of the attention I have received on social media, over 10.5k views and counting with those agreeing that this is not what I had asked for, and even hoping I did not pay. You said to let the public decide your quality of your work, and they have decided it was amateur work. i've been waiting for my 18th to come because I was excited for my tattoo. I had made a design and put a lot of thought as to how I will permanently mark my body. I called the shop to set an appointment up, the person who answered had told me she was more than capable of doing it it. I sent her my design and told her she's more than welcome to add her own artistic value to it making it more beautiful. At the shop, she had printed out my exact design and said she was just going to use what I sent her which was perfectly okay with me. She asked me if i was okay with using pink blue and purple in the background and again I was perfectly okay with it. Since this was my first tattoo, I was very nervous during the process, but her small comments "It looks just like pixie dust!" and another artist coming in to say how cute the pastel colors were calmed me since it was sounding exactly like what I was hoping for. When it was done and I took a look at it, I was put into shock. I noticed the colors weren't blended the way I wanted, but didn't have the heart to ask about it in the moment. I was hoping to myself that it could just be swelling, and it'll look how I envisioned it would be later on. The more I looked at it at home, I realized it was just a chunk of color, no swirl like in my design. It was not pastel. My parents were absolutely shocked when they took a look at it which made me realize it wasn't just me. I ended up crying since this is nothing I wanted. It looks like a drawing my 8 year old sister did. But because it's my 18th, I put on the dress I had ordered months prior for this day, it had a cutout on the chest perfect to see a tattoo, but sadly it wasn't the one I pictured on my chest. I still put makeup on and took pictures. I did say thank you to someone commenting how they liked my tat since i was self conscious, even deleted a comment poking fun at how horrible it looked. I was embarrassed and trying to convince myself it was cute. The more I looked at it, the more flaws I saw. My parents were saddened for me and tried to reason with the owner over the phone. I was next to them as it was happening, my mother was not bashing the artist work, only said its not what we requested. She got defensive once we realized the owner had no intention on hearing out our complaint by starting his response with "You said your piece now i'm going to say mine" and "Your daughter got exactly what she wanted" Also said, "There is nothing wrong with ** work" My mother cut him off once he tried to further justify the situation by stating I allegedly asked for the colors to be darker. As I said earlier, it was supposed to be pastel. Pastel colors aren't dark. I am now booking an appointment with someone else to try to fix my collarbone. Response: I did not "recruit" anyone to hate. Everyone is entitled to their own opinion. If they didn't think it was bad, they would've said that. Also the person on the phone said to go ahead and post it. Why is it an issue now? It's unfortunate there's an offer to "touch up" my tat now after I took it to social media. I won't let you guys touch me again. It's sad you haven't tried to rectify the situation, you've had my personal information to do so. I went to tattoo paradise today where they pretty much told me this is unfixable. I will now be getting a coverup and another tattoo of the design I originally gave from artists who are transparent with their abilities. The artist there himself was flabbergasted and said "Oh shit" when he saw what was on me. It's a bad tattoo. I'm sorry if you felt as if you both were verbally attacked and as if you're the victims from the permanent fuck up on my chest. read more

Stopped in for a jewelry change because my nose piercing I got done in another state was starting to reject. The shop is clean, and everyone was really polite and friendly. Chuck was my piercer and was really good about explaining what was going on and taking out the jewelry as gently as possible. I ended up having to come back in for a re-pierce since the swelling was bad, and Chuck called to follow up in between which was nice. The reason I gave this any stars is because the place is really nice and clean. The staff was incredibly sweet and it was a very quick and easy process. I got a belly piercing for $40. He used clean needles, made sure it was in the place I wanted it and then he pierced me. He gave me some sea salt and really no other information. I had to ask a lot of questions which is fine, but I still felt kinda uninformed. It's been almost two weeks later and the top ball falls off, so I go to piercing Pagoda to get a new one. The lady looks at my piercing and says he technically pierced me with an earring. The bar isn't long enough and I couldn't have been cleaning it properly. She offered to change it for me and it was extremely painful because a real sized bellybutton ring is thicker than the earring he used. She also said it looked like it was beginning to get infected because I can't clean it properly. Would not go here for a belly piercing. Everyone is really nice though. read more

So. Let me tell you guys about this amazing ass place with great interior designing and even better a group of skillful, kind and professional artists that actually give a damn about their clients and what they are doing. I've been here 3 times! First to get my belly pierced and it was awesome I had no issues and may I mention that I had a hernia repairment surgery which left me with a big scar and a little bit of belly skin to pierce but guess what my piercer made it possible and I had no complications with the piercing whatsoever. The second time I came here I grabbed my buddy and I was like hey we should totally go get random tattoos on our knees and he was like hell yeah. So I got a egg on my left knee and in return he got a jar of peanut butter on his knee. It went by really fast and wasn't even painful ( I have a high pain tolerance.) The third time I returned I decided to get my septum pierced which went by so quick and it was painful for about 1 second and it was also pierced by the same person and once again no complications whatsoever. I also brought my friend to get her nipples pierced and chuck did a wonderful damn job and allowed us to be there for her as emotional support, she had her nipples pierced before (By a different establishment) and had built up scar tissue however chuck did it with the swiftness of flash and before we knew it was all done. I chose this place because it also has great sterilizing equipment, so it's clean and awesome with good vibes. Hopefully my review helps with you getting some work done! read more

Scheduled an appointment for the same day with Pop's Tattoo. The store is clean and they were right on time, no wait at all. Chuck did my septum piercing for me, he was patient and thoroughly went over everything to expect during and after the piercing multiple times during my visit. The piercing itself was super painless and quick--Chuck did a great job and is definitely my new go-to piercer in the DC area.
