Wasteland tattoos is fantastic! Highly professional, fair prices, clean, efficient, and precise! I…read morehighly would recommend to all of my friends. The tattoo that I requested was very simple and small, and they could not have executed this more perfectly. Furthermore, this was my first tattoo, and they put my newbie nerves at ease immediately. Pros: Price: The tattoo that I received cost $160 (pre tip). They ask for a deposit of 50% in advance, and then have you pay the rest onsite. I believe that $160 is the minimum price for any tattoo here. Tripp provided me with a quote in advance, per my request, and was very prompt and direct about the pricing as soon as I provided him with an example of what I wanted, which I really appreciated. I initially felt like this price was a bit high, however I called several highly rated tattoo parlors in the area, and this was the lowest price for my simple tattoo. So comparatively, this place checks out, price-wise! I am glad I paid to have it done at Wasteland, as the experience was incredible. Accuracy: The tattoo was executed exactly as I requested-- I couldn't have asked for it to be any more accurate, honestly. It was simple, but I think with simple designs, any flaws are even more visible, in a way? So I was very pleased with how it came out. Friendliness: I had a very pleasant experience here. Banter throughout the tattooing process, I felt like my artist and I were just friends hanging out. There were upbeat R&B oldies playing, which put me right at ease. Pain: Truly painless, to be honest. I was shocked by how little pain I experienced. Honestly, it was reminiscent of a small scratch. Also super quickly completed. Simplicity of booking: Booking this appointment was so easy. I figure that this is partly due to the simplicity of my design, however I was still surprised how quickly they got me in. I was able to secure an appointment within a week of reaching out. When I showed up, they were ready for me, and the entire experience felt very streamlined and efficient. Clean studio: The studio was clean, modern, spacey, and private. The bright colors and upbeat music put me at ease immediately. Masks were worn throughout the process. Instructions on treatment/self care of tattoo: My artist provided me with detailed instructions as to how to care for my tattoo. I asked a lot of beginner, kinda silly questions, but never felt belittled, and felt like I was being taken seriously and really cared for just in the way that my questions were addressed. The care process was honestly very easy, and within a couple of days, I felt that it was pretty much healed up! A super easy and fun process :) Cons: Truly ZERO from me! I am so pleased with my tattoo and impressed with the overall experience offered at Wasteland tattoos. I am recommending to all of my friends in the DC area! Go here! You will not be disappointed, and your expectations will surely be exceeded, as mine were.

I was referred to that site for scheduling from the tattoo parlour itself, so it wasn't like I tried to reach out to the artist on the down low or something. Also, I prefer to see a tattoo parlour in person. I want to be in the space to see the look books and see the vibes (and cleanliness) myself. They were appointment only, so I didn't get to check out the parlour yet. I think some of the artists have some beautiful art, but as a potential client who wasn't given a courtesy email from the artist, it just feels eh. I bought two large pieces from a place in NY from the owner himself, who communicated with me directly quickly and personally over 3-4 months. I just expected something similar to that. Or at least to be more prompt.

He showed me the jewelry selection they had and what could be used for initial piercing/heal time. He was honest about which things would be pricier and did steer me in the direction of just getting their standard horseshoe fit now and once it heals we can find something I really like. It was kinda cool that he didn't try to pressure me into getting something I prob would have regretted later, especially with the economy being what it is. The piercing itself was very fast! Like over in less than 5 minutes from the time we went to the back to walking out the door. He walked me through every thing. And while this is not my first piercing rodeo I did appreciate it. He is also just a very nice guy and seems like he'd be fun to just hang out with in general. Like your older siblings cool friend. Also gave me his number if I had any follow up questions since they tiny gave a phone at the shop, truly is the best piercer. 10 out of 10 would pierce again!

They told us they get tons of walk-ins in that location because of how many people are in town for business and travel. First things first: the shop itself looked super clean, super organized, and really well done. Bright, professional, tons of flash on the walls, and everything felt sanitary and put together. We each got our zodiac symbols to represent our friendship. My artist was Sam Layzelle, and he was great. Easy to talk to, professional, confident. The tattoo was small (inside of my ankle so it definitely was not painless), and it only took about 10 minutes. He worked quickly and cleanly, and it was over super quick. Both artists were chatting with us while working, and my friend and I were getting tattooed at the same time, which made it even more fun. Sam mentioned he travels to Scranton, PA for the tattoo convention there, so we ended up talking about Pennsylvania and where we're from. It felt relaxed and personal instead of rushed. Each tattoo was $140 plus tip. If you're in Adams Morgan and feeling brave (or just a little impulsive), I'd absolutely recommend stopping in.

The waiting room and reception area is dark and moody, while the studio is bright and roomy. There was music playing but tons of great artists at work, and it felt like a quirky brain trust in the best way. Working with Malvi was a dream. We communicated online beforehand and she is super professional and sweet. She gave me a price estimate and really put a lot of thought into what I wanted. Once I got there, she reviewed the details and then went and drew a sketch. In just 30 minutes she had a beautiful design created! She then printed the design out in multiple sizes so I could see what size I wanted best. I loved that she came prepared with options because I always feel bad asking for more. Once it was time to start, she had several outlines ready so again I felt comfortable asking for small changes. She was really thoughtful and careful with the placement. The set up was also very clean and thoroughly prepared. Malvi was very gentle during the tattooing process and gave me lots of space to ask for breaks and stretches. It was incredible watching her tattoo- she is a master! The end result was the most gorgeous tattoo I have out of four. She was very clear with the aftercare and how to contact her about touch ups. I feel like she is here for me through the healing process. If you're considering where to get your next tattoo, Cry Baby and Malvi are excellent options!
