First time here and wasn't disappointed. Excellent food and very friendly. Must try the crepes.

If you want good authentic bubble tea this is definitely not the place. Tea quality is low. The staff does not know what flavor their special named ones are. And there is two types of bubble. A very very very overly chewy tapioca balls (I mean seriously spend 10 minutes chewing and you still won't be done). The other option is the bursting balls. Hope you are willing to gamble tho because there is nothing to tell you which one comes with which flavor. Honestly the drink was so disgusting I threw it away, which I hate doing. I went somewhere else and got something consumable. And sadly the cupcake couldn't even save them. As the cupcake was super dry. Would of been better off buying a cupcake from Walmart read more

Stopped for a coffee, and saw this chocolate cupcake I had to have, called a "Mr. Big Stuff" I think. Unfortunately, it wasn't as amazing as it looked. The whole thing was light and fluffy, even the frosting. Maybe a healthy version of what I was looking for, lol. read more

Delightful bakery and breakfast location in the Gaffer District of Corning. I enjoyed a yummy fig & apple crepe that was on point for a cool fall morning. Coffee was freshly brewed and flavorful as well. read more

Very cute but underwhelming. Baked goods are tasty, I didn't try any of the hot items. We were hoping for good coffee drinks and hot chocolate. Unfortunately they only have the typical flavored coffees and teas, no espresso drinks. No hot chocolate until winter. read more

This small shop on market st is new and my first visit her me and my girlfriend had the cookies and creme cupcakes & butterscotch almond cake! The cupcake was nothing special I will put it at average but the butterscotch almond cake was really good it was moist and warm and had greet flavor. I will update the review when I go back and try some of the food! read more

Cute bakery with some outside sidewalk seating. Service was quick and friendly. The crepes were filling and tasty. We had the fig bourbon crepe and the ham, turkey, apple and cheddar crepe. My spouse wasn't a fan of the apple compote on the second crepe but I liked it. No complaints but no "wow" factor either - I'd go back if I was in the area and wanted a quick meal. read more

Cute cafe, with the sweetest staff working! But my friend and I weren't thrilled with the experience. I ordered the fig and bourbon crepe with a black tea. Both were lukewarm and lacked powerful flavor. My friend ordered the ham and cheese crepe with a fruit salad. Her food was also lukewarm, and she noted the fruit salad was not fresh. The baked goods available in the display case, though pretty, also did not appear freshly made. On a positive note, they did have a large menu with lunch options available! Great Food, Bad Service. We ordered two bubble teas and a lavender lemonade. The lady handed our order the the people behind us. The people behind us said that it wasn't theirs, SO THE LADY THREW THEM OUT. She made a new batch and saw a another costumer and Left our drinks on the counter where she was making them to go talk about a book. Within seconds our drinks were swarmed with flies and we waited ten minutes before she went back to them to make them. She handed us already warm bubble tea and lavender lemonade. Just had lunch there. They have wraps, quiche, and different kinds of grilled cheese. My husband had a beef wrap of some sort which he liked, and I had the "French Connection" (go Sabres!) grilled cheese. We both had cupcakes for dessert. (Dec. 19th, 2013) Dropped in for the first time as I was looking for a place that had soup on this cold winter day. Tried the Curry Tomato Soup and Stuffed Bell Pepper Soup - they offered me samples of both because I couldn't choose! They were both delicious!! The Stuffed Bell Pepper Soup was very hearty with a good amount of beef and packed with flavor from the peppers and seasonings. My only complaint is that the soups weren't hot enough. read more

Our experience here was very disappointing. We were passing by the town and stopped by to eat. The staff didn't seem to know anything about their menu when asked questions. We had to clean our own table before sitting because it was dirty. When we finally received our order after a long wait, It was missing 3 items and the food was cold. When we went up to the staff to inquire; they were very nonchalant and dismissive about it. Even asking for an extra napkin was like pulling teeth. The food was not good. I would not recommend this place. Corning has better places to eat. read more

This is probably my favourite hangout in the whole of Corning. I come here with my baby in a stroller and it's a really comfortable spot to while away the afternoon. The veggie quiches a bit bland for my tastebud but I love the carrot cake and scones. Update: The place has changed hands since my last review. I still like it but probably not as much as the 4 stars I gave 3 years ago. One, I had a stomach upset after eating one of their scones. This is probably a one-off but it became a psychological barrier for me to recommend this place unreservedly. Second, if you're looking for any cake that doesn't have chocolate in it, you're probably not going to have much options. read more

I had contacted Poppleton Bakery to make cheesecakes or some other dessert for my wedding. I first contacted them by email and received a response stating they would be willing to fulfill the orders and to give them a call. I called AT LEAST four times and each time I was told "the head baker is not available, they'll call you later today." The next time I called I explained that I keep getting told that they'd call back and the person I spoke to said "they'll call you within the hour." Hours went by. Days went by. As you can probably see where this is going, I NEVER received a call back. I wasted a bunch of time trying to get them to cater the desserts for my wedding and ended up with nothing. read more

This is an amazing gem in Corning. The staff is very courteous and attentive here. And the food and beverages (bubble tea!!) are incredible. Whether you have a sweet tooth and need some of the best cupcakes on the planet, or a delicious sandwich for lunch, I doubt you could be disappointed. I wish I lived nearby, because I would be visiting often. Poppleton's was a definite highlight of my visit to Corning, and I look forward to returning again. read more

I've been here twice and I hope to go back many more times! This place has a full lunch and breakfast menu in addition to the pastries. I've had a sandwich and a crepe; both were good. The food on the menu is all elevated versions of standard fare. Good if your an adult who likes trying gourmet food, but not so great if you have a kid with you. Luckily they will make custom, off-menu items, so my daughter got her standard sandwich and thought it was great. For dessert, I've had an espresso brownie and a cupcake. The cupcake was yummy, but that brownie was a little piece of heaven! As for the bubble tea..it's $4 and I didn't like it due to the fact that the "bubbles" were very chewy. Nice to try something different, but this just didn't work for me. Service was good both times and the decor is very cute. In conclusion, YOU MUST TRY THE ESPRESSO BROWNIES!!!! Overall, an average visit. Both coffee containers were out after ordering coffee at 10am. I got my food right away, but they forgot my sister's crepe. The cashier didn't ask us about sides (it was our first time here, so we didn't even know to ask until our crepes were brought out). My sister loved her bacon, egg and cheese crepe, but I had the same thing and thought my eggs were over done. To their credit, they did offer us a free cupcake for the delay. I was told to go here for breakfast, it received RAVE reviews from some people we were with, who had visited here before. Well, I had a croissant. It was pretty stale and hard. Someone else in our group had a cheese and egg sandwich. It was ok. I wouldn't rave about this bakery, I am not sure if the croissants were house made but I am guessing not, they tasted like they were either old and stale, or bought from a big chain store. I doubt I would return, there were other places I would try instead. read more

Good little spot for a quick morning breakfast. I had an omelette which was the PERFECT size. Too often omelette are huge and end up being like a full lunch. Wife had a breakfast bacon egg and cheese on a bagel which was also good. Coffee was fresh and tasty. Price was pretty good as well. A good choice for breakfast if you are in the area. I went here for the first time yesterday afternoon and it was only okay. It's super cute, inside and out. We ordered a slice of cake, three cupcakes, and coffee. The coffee from the self-serve coffee station was not hot and I had to ask them to microwave it for me - cold coffee when it's supposed to be hot is sorta one of my pet peeves. The cake and the cupcakes looked beautiful, but the taste just wasn't there. The icing was kinda gross, and the cake and cupcakes were dry and crumbly and didn't taste like much. Excellent spinach crepe and my men loved the Diner breakfast! Lots of yummy sweets coming out of the oven. We loved the wonky plates :)!! Plenty of bevvie choices too. Server was very friendly and accommodating. We'll definitely visit again next time we pass thru Corning. read more

One of my favorite places to eat on Market St. The staff are cheerful and responsive, the interior is very pleasant, and the food is always exceptional. We had breakfast at Poppleton Pastries during our stay in Corning. The shop is bright and charming, black and white with apple green accents and touches of red. The food is great, possibly because they "believe in butter" (channeling Julia Child). We had a grilled brie cheese sandwich with homemade fig preserve (delis!), coconut pineapple scones, yogurt parfait with fresh fruit, and one of the best cups of coffee we've had in a while. They also offer homemade soups, quiches, different sandwiches, fantastic cakes (carrot , wine), hot chocolate, warm cider and so much more. Service was friendly and professional and pricing was fair for what we got. Our one regret: we wished we had lunch there the day before as well. We went to another well-reviewed place that had fabulous atmosphere but mediocre food. read more

Poppleton is hands down one of the best little finds on Market Street. The staff is always friendly & attentive. There's never been a day when I don't see a smile in that place. We visited Corning with a large group (25 people) and stopped at Poppleton for lunch. They had fantastic service and fantastic food! Our group was served quickly and the diverse menu worked for everyone. The owner went out of her way to make us comfortable. I highly recommend the tomato curry soup of they are serving it! Very nice, great breakfast, excellent coffee, wonderful scones. The service was prompt and friendly. They had a nice counter in front facing the street with numerous power outlets, great for recharging your phone or tablet, very thoughtful. read more
