Adam loves dessert, especially cupcakes, so it was a no brainier that I found somewhere to get dessert for our anniversary weekend. It was kind of like eating your wedding cake for your anniversary. I picked here because it was pretty close to the museum and had such great reviews. It I located right on the main street of their village and it can make you feel like you walked into the life of Rory and Lorelai Gilmore. The shop it self is super cute and decorated perfectly. The store front changes often to reflect the season and holiday's. They have a pretty sizable menu for such a cute little place. They other some simple lunch choices like sandwiches but their main thing is dessert- and boy do they know how to do dessert. Adam and I had such a hard time picking our something so we wound up each getting a cupcake and drink to consume there and some goodies to take home. Their cupcakes were perfect. They were light, fluffy, and moist. Their frosting was also fabulous. Frosting can go wrong very quickly. A lot of companies use far too much sugar and the frosting becomes very heavy. This frosting was on point of just the perfect amount of sugar so it was easy to lick it all right off the cupcake. Pretty much the only downfall I can think of it parking. It is street parking and it can be hard to find a spot. Also, the ability to parallel park is a plus. Overall, I would highly suggest it here and I ready have to a couple of family members who came for the museum. The variety is amazing and the flavor a are ever better! read more

I came to this cute bakery just after noon on a weekday in between visiting the Rockwell museum and the Corning Glass Museum. I'd seen the positive Yelp reviews and received it as a suggestion from the young lady at the Rockwell visitor desk. This is a counter service bakery & cafe. There was a line when I got here. It was a bit slow with one person taking orders. There's a handful of tables and short counter seating looking out the front window. I noticed the sweet smell of baked goods when I walked in. I ordered the recommended BLT Turkey & Cheese crepe with the warm cheesy casserole side. The crepe is large, larger than a sandwich. There is a lot of dill sauce on top but it isn't overwhelming. The crepe has good flavor and it is filled well. The thinly sliced lettuce and diced tomato help lighten each bite. The casserole is on the smaller size which perfectly suits the size of the crepe. It's very cheesy with the potatoes adding more of a texture than a flavor. I would recommend this spot for a filling lunch while exploring Corning. read more

Ordered a turkey BLT as a crepe with a side of potato casserole at exactly 9:39 a.m. After waiting 30 minutes, I received a stone-cold crepe that seemed to be prepackaged instead of made fresh like typical crepe places. Meanwhile, the "potato casserole" looked suspiciously like a scoop from a crockpot. To top it all off, this masterpiece was served on flimsy paper plates, the kind you find at family potlucks. Not exactly the "artisan cafe" experience I had in mind. And let's not forget the kitchen ambiance: constant door slams and beeps from what was clearly microwaves. When the forgot our bacon, we watched through the kitchen opening the bacon being reheated in the microwave. The baked items in the case looked good and seemed fresh. There was a constant line for cookies, etc. Final verdict? Left disappointed about my breakfast. Would go back and try the baked goods. Hopefully, they will be a better option. read more

The food was great, but I'm frusterated bc the website link doesn't work and I can't exactly remember what we ate 4 days ago. I'll do my best from memory: Fig Bourbon Crepe = Sliced apple melted brie with our fig & bourbon Compote made with Walnuts, cinnamon and nutmeg. The crepe itself was thin and fluffy, the apple butter was simply divine (smooth, rich, and tasty). Melted brie is always a winner in my book. BLT Turkey and Cheese Sandwich Lunch = Bacon, Lettuce, tomato, turkey, cheddar, basil mayo. The bacon was thick and well cooked, the turkey was moist and flavorful. Nothing to complain about here. We were headed to a nearby restaurant after a day at the Corning Museum, and just happened to park in front of this bakery...and we had been looking for a bakery to pick up some dessert for the next day...and they were still open...and still had a nice assortment of treats at 5PM! What luck! We bought a chocolate ganache brownie, chocolate chip peanut butter brownie and a 7 layer bar. We cut each into thirds so we could each try them all. They were all delicious! I think the service could have been better, like a greeting upon entry or at least saying I'll be with you in a second. My first breakfast of my Corning weekend was not one to disappoint. I ordered a ham, egg, and cheese crepe that was very tasty. I also got a carrot cake cup cake that was super tasty! The iced coffee wasn't great, kind of old tasting but whatever no big deal there. Prices were good and the staff was very friendly and great as well. My girlfriend also tried their bourbon crepe and caramel fudge brownie which were sooo very tasty! The place itself was super cute with a good deal of seating and some outdoor tables as well. Poppleton! What a cute name for a bakery! We were fairly excited about this place due to the reviews here. We went after a visit to the corning museum of glass. It was the first time in a year my husband and I didn't do take away. I ordered their soup and quiche combo for 8 dollars and my husband ordered a savory crepe! I will say that their curried tomato soup was very tasty! It's vegan and gluten free! The quiche was tasty but it was not that warm, and not reheated well in my opinion. My husband enjoyed his crepe. I would say the food was average. I think the key at this place is really in their baked goods - the cake pops were moist, and tasty! Things I didn't like: they didn't appear to clean tables in between customers (or at least right after) - we were there for maybe 30-40 mins. The food was not warm enough for me. They also ran out of bubbles (they serve bubble tea starting at 11 AM and we got there at 1) - I suspect maybe traffic there was higher than usual. I'd be willing to try this place again on a day it isn't as busy to see if their service differs (the staff was actually pretty awesome despite the setbacks mentioned above)! read more

Was looking forward to this place when I landed in Elmira, based on the gluten free comments. To say I was disappointed would be an understatement. I asked about the quiche, according to the reviews you have to ask which ones for the day are GF, the two girls who worked there told me they would have to make a phone call bc they have no clue. I ordered a buckwheat GF crepe, the fig and bourbon, two of my favorite flavors, it certainly missed the mark The crepe was basically folded in half like a quesadilla and the cheese ( Brie) was not melted. Flavor was not what I would expect. I also ordered a green hot tea, it had the oddest fake flavor to it, unsure how? Green tea is just basic. I heard others ordering the bubble tea, another girl order coffee, which you grab on your own. Her face was not delighted with the flavor of coffee. I think this place could be good with some proper training, I do sympathize w the labor shortages. Their menu is quite large, many options for food. I can say we were highly disappointed with this place. I saw it had decent reviews so maybe they changed some thing recently? The reason I am even giving 2 stars has nothing to do with the quality of food, but because the staff was incredibly friendly. We got an assortment of grilled sandwiches and croissants. They were served on paper plates and looked about as sad as it could get. Low quality bread, no flavor and honestly kind of just thrown together. As a cafe there were few tea options and the choice my wife made was heated up in a microwave. What a pleasant spot for a quick bite! The interior is really cute, with lots of interesting decoration by the window which you get to look at if you sit at the counter. I had a quinoa crêpe which comes with spinach and peppers in side and a big dollop of peanut sauce. I loved the thick peanut sauce, and the crepe itself was stuffed very generously, kind of shaped like a burrito. Super flavourful! Got the fruit salad as a side, which tasted very fresh. Was visiting Corning for a short time and I loved visiting Market street. We were in search of breakfast and this was the closest to our hotel. It's a casual place with street parking. Bakery items were really good but our eggs were okay. Think they do better with cakes, desserts, and bakery items rather than scrambled eggs and grits. I want a place that serves GF crepes to succeed. But we were pretty disappointed. The buckwheat crepes themselves were fine, but the way they put together the filling sucked. First of all they gave me tomatoes when I asked for none. I can live with picking them out, but they didn't even melt the cheese in one of them, it was just cold shredded cheese. It honestly kind-of seemed like they just make a bunch of crepes at once, reheat them, and then throw on ingredients. They don't feel cohesive at all like they do at a real creperie. read more
