I stopped in for breakfast while visiting the area and was sadly left a bit disappointed. It was busy with a long line on a Sunday morning but service went by quickly. I had an everything bagel with the chive and onion cream cheese. While I enjoyed the flavors, the bagel barely had any cream cheese on it so I was disappointed

BB&B is a charming, low-key café located in Corning's Market Street district, directly across the street from the Palace Theatre. Here you can find fresh, pillowy-soft bagels in over a dozen flavors. While the salmon cream cheese on my sesame bagel was a hair too sweet for my taste, it was sooooo yummy! The café is a popular choice for folks of all ages, and is a good spot for parents of young children looking to stop in for a bite. There are a couple of outdoor tables, and street parking is plentiful. Also, note that the shop is closed Wednesdays. Don't miss out on a lovely way to start (or continue) your day during your next visit to Corning!

My friend and I decided to stop by Babes, Bagels, and Beans after the gym to grab something quick to eat. Initially, we had stopped by late morning on a Saturday. Naturally, the place was very busy with a line almost out the door. After waiting in line for about 10 minutes, we decided we didn't have the time to wait to order and then wait for our food. No fault of the restaurant's, obviously, we just had planned on something quick. We came back the following Monday at around 10 AM to get food and work in their cafe for a few hours. It was still a little busy (it was a holiday, so fewer people were at work), but we were able to order quickly and grab a table to wait for our food and start on a little bit of work. I ordered one of their bagel of the month specials, which was a marble rye bagel sandwich with egg, swiss cheese, bacon, avocado, and veggie cream cheese. They were out of the marble rye bagel, so I opted for an onion bagel instead. My friend ordered a bacon, egg, and cheese with chive n onion cream cheese on a sesame bagel. She had wanted to try their asiago n artichoke spread, but they were out at the time. She also ordered a small cup of green tea. We only ended up waiting about 20-30 minutes for the food to be ready, which didn't seem bad considering the number of people and how there weren't very many people behind the counter making the food. However, during our wait, we were able to watch as food orders were being prepared, and we were a little disappointed to see that the bagels weren't made fresh in-house and were instead shipped in bags from NYC. I guess this is what they meant when they said "NYC" bagels. The brand was "New Yorker Bagels". I don't know why, but we had assumed they were making NYC-style bagels fresh in-house and were excited about the fact. Nevertheless, the bagels were still good (we're not necessarily bagel snobs lol). But we had just come back from a trip to NYC the weekend prior, so we were still riding that high (you really can't beat an actual NYC bagel fresh from the source). Other small things to note: The sandwiches didn't come cut in half, which I personally believe they should. We ended up cutting them with a plastic butter knife. Not a huge deal, I know, but just something to note. My friends tea was just a tea bag from Wegmans. I know tea isn't their specialty, but if they're boasting "finest locally roasted beans" for their coffee, they could probably put a little more care into tea selection too. But maybe not, because it is a coffee shop after all. I'd be curious to see what their matcha is like... They have free wifi upon request, which was nice. The bathrooms are clean. They have outdoor seating along the street, if you'd like. They have a really expansive and fun menu. Especially their flavored coffee/espresso, which we didn't end up trying, but I'd be open to trying for future visits. The staff were all friendly. The one who took our order was sweet and patient when we had to adjust our orders based on what was still available.

Stopped by before heading to the Corning Museum. Had a bagel with bacon, egg and cheese and the Babes Special. Both hit the spot and were really good and reasonably priced. The bagels they use were awesome and the staff friendly!

TLDR; okay food, poor service. We visited Babes Bagels & Beans at around 11AM on a Saturday where there weren't many people there. There were maybe 3 or 4 other people in line other than us. To be fair, after we ordered, it did get a bit busy with, say, 5 more people in line. We ordered an egg&cheese bagel and a lox cream cheese without onions and added avocado. The lady taking our order wasn't rude or anything, but just seemed to be unbothered and maybe not in the best mood. I get it, it might be one of those days, no complaints there. It took about 10-12 minutes to get our food. Unfortunately the egg bagel had bacon, which we didn't ask for, and the lox bagel had onion and no avocado. We decided to not bring it to their attention because they were getting busy. They seemed to be overwhelmed with the orders. Unfortunately that they didn't bother to check the actual order and not pay attention to our requests. The bagel itself is not made in store, and bought elsewhere. Didn't mind it, the bagels were tasty. However, the egg and bacon were dry. The lox bagel didn't meet expectations and noted the missing Ava ode, there was something left to be desired. The place itself is a cute little shop, not many seats. All things considered, they need to up their service and attention to orders.

Tossed is located on Market Street which can be busy during lunch & dinner. They offer Vegan and Vegetarian as well. We arrived just after noon so most of the tables were taken. We managed to snag a table though and ordered. My guy had the gluten free cheeseburger bowl which was delicious! Came with a bowl of Romaine, burger, red onion, cheese, and ripe tomatoes and a tangy sauce Looked so good I had to have a bite and it was Great! I had the Trio of Isles which included 2 homemade Spanakopita. I could tell immediately because of the pastry wasn't the usual store bought puff pastry. And, it was so flavorful with garlic, spices and Pine nuts. The hummus was good and the pita points were toasted and warm when served. The falafel was okay and one was filling with homemade Tzatziki sauce. I managed to eat both falafels. I would definitely come again and just get the Spanakopita-it was Amazing. They do a lot of Take Out. Some of their salads were huge (definitely two meals worth - lunch & dinner) and several patrons were taking what they couldn't finish home for dinner.

I usually get Cate's Buhda Bowl but recently branched out and got the tofu veggie wrap, chock full of goodness and protein. Both are really flavorful and nourishing, generous too. There is another thing that keeps me coming back. Tossed is clearly family-run, and I know that a father-daughter team seem to be mostly in charge. Once, they got my order wrong, and I waited longer than usual for the correction to appear. Not only did they credit my order but I think the person who made the error was in tears. I just love these people, they are so sweet!

I'd seen the positive Yelp reviews and received it as a suggestion from the young lady at the Rockwell visitor desk. This is a counter service bakery & cafe. There was a line when I got here. It was a bit slow with one person taking orders. There's a handful of tables and short counter seating looking out the front window. I noticed the sweet smell of baked goods when I walked in. I ordered the recommended BLT Turkey & Cheese crepe with the warm cheesy casserole side. The crepe is large, larger than a sandwich. There is a lot of dill sauce on top but it isn't overwhelming. The crepe has good flavor and it is filled well. The thinly sliced lettuce and diced tomato help lighten each bite. The casserole is on the smaller size which perfectly suits the size of the crepe. It's very cheesy with the potatoes adding more of a texture than a flavor. I would recommend this spot for a filling lunch while exploring Corning.

Meanwhile, the "potato casserole" looked suspiciously like a scoop from a crockpot. To top it all off, this masterpiece was served on flimsy paper plates, the kind you find at family potlucks. Not exactly the "artisan cafe" experience I had in mind. And let's not forget the kitchen ambiance: constant door slams and beeps from what was clearly microwaves. When the forgot our bacon, we watched through the kitchen opening the bacon being reheated in the microwave. The baked items in the case looked good and seemed fresh. There was a constant line for cookies, etc. Final verdict? Left disappointed about my breakfast. Would go back and try the baked goods. Hopefully, they will be a better option.

The pressed sandwiches we got were pretty slim on fillings and quite soggy. We went during lunch on a Monday but they were out of tons of menu items, having not restocked from the weekend yet. We tried to order one sandwich on gluten free bread and one on ciabatta. They were out of ciabatta so they offered sourdough instead. Then the food comes, and it turns out they didn't have sourdough either. So instead of telling me what they do have and letting me choose, they just made it on rye bread, and offered to remake it before even setting it down. I don't like rye so I did ask for a remake, and I don't understand why they didn't just ask in the first place. Unfortunately, they also made the "gluten free" sandwich on rye bread which was discovered after my gluten-intolerant mom had eaten a bite. The whole experience was a confusing mess. They refunded our sandwiches and we ate somewhere else. My mom got a raspberry smoothie which she said was good and I got an iced coffee which was not good, I left that behind too. It's never a good sign when you somewhere for lunch and coffee and end up needing to go somewhere else for lunch and coffee after! I would maybe come back to try a smoothie here but I would get it to-go and skip all the food. A 1 star experience but adding 1 star because my mom really liked the smoothie, and the staff were accommodating by offering remakes and refunds, remaining polite even though none of us were having a good time
