We stopped into Soul Full Cup Coffee on a snowy winter morning and were immediately charmed by the atmosphere. The morning sunlight poured through the front windows in such a peaceful way that I genuinely wished I had my book or laptop and a few hours to spare. It's the kind of cozy coffee shop you want to linger in rather than grab drinks to go. We ordered a Ghirardelli mocha, a cortado (off menu!), and a spinach feta pastry. The pastry was crisp, fresh, and really yummy--exactly what you want with a hot drink. The mocha was everything I hope for in a chocolate-forward coffee drink: smooth, rich, not bitter or gritty, and absolutely perfect for a cold winter morning. The cortado was a little strong for my taste, but it was my husband's pick and he loved it--the espresso came through bold and clean, exactly how he likes it. I really appreciated that the barista made a cortado to order even though it wasn't listed on the menu. Overall, lovely drinks, delicious pastry, relaxing vibe, and friendly service. I went on a quiet Sunday morning and it was absolutely peaceful. Too quiet that not much excitement can meet visitors' expectations. Ordered a cafe latte and wanted a scone that Yelpers had talked about. But unfortunately, they didn't have it early that morning. All pastries available were either overnight stuff left in the fridge or cookies & muffins, which also seemed left for more than a day or two... what a bummer. The servers seemed tired. I got a feeling that they needed their coffee more than I did. Extra caffeine boost, please! LOL. So, unlike other early coffee shops or breakfast places, I honestly do not recommend going in the early mornings. And the latte I got was a very typical one. Very few surprises. The baristas are hard at work making all the classics including some not always found like Turkish Coffee and a Chai Charger. I've been coming here for years, and watched this place slowly slide downhill. I was hoping that the appearance of a competitor literally one block away would provide them with some motivation, but alas, nope. The pastry menu is very limited. The servers take their time, so your order never appears quickly and there are never more than two of them. There isn't much seating -- there used to be tables in the front room, but they've been removed -- too much work, I guess. Unlike the place down the street, dogs are unwelcome. Soulful cup is unfortunately not my favorite. They used to have a cute aesthetic with artwork, chairs and tables in the front, but they got rid of all of their furniture in the front. It's just standing room in the front now with a limited # of chairs and tables in the back. They also used to have a super cute logo on their souvenir coffee cups and they swapped it out for something that is pretty bland. I typically drink my americano black, but when I order from here I need to add lots of creamer and sweetener to make the coffee taste better. It tastes like they use unfiltered tap water and don't filter it before they brew the coffee. It is nice that they now offer smoothies in the summer time, and those are super tasty. Their outdoor chalkboard menu specials board frequently has drink specials with honey and oat milk in them; but when asked for either of these things (this has happened 2-3x) the barista explains they only have it premixed into those drink specials. Just plain weird to do to confuse your customers in my opinion. The baristas haven't been that friendly the last few times I've gone in either. The customer service isn't one that sends you out the door with a smile. For a small non-chain place, I would expect better service. I know many people that love this place, and I feel bad saying this - but I can buy tastier coffee pods for my nespresso espresso drinks at home for less. I wish they would step up their game- do some interior decorating, bring back the artsy vibe, and filter their water before before they brew the coffee. read more

A place to relax and recharge your whole person. I visited Soul Full Cup on a Sunday morning on an unplanned layover in Corning, NY. My sister happen to be driving through Corning on her way home from visiting family north of the Finger Lake region. Soul Full Cup was the perfect place to spend a couple hours visiting with my sister and relaxing and recharging my body after a long backpacking trip. What I liked. The ambiance, decor, variety of seating and coffee bar. All these elements made Soul Full Cup a relaxing place. It's a place where families, friends, and singles can go to reconnect over coffee and/or get some reading or studying done. The location! It has a beautiful store front and side walk seating on a Main Street that looked amazing. What can be done better. This was my first ever experience of Soul Full Cup, so I'm sure my comments here will not be well informed. Regardless, I read up on their commitment to sourcing, roasting and serving the best coffee,but the taste of the cortado and drip brew I ordered was a unpleasant. Granted, I don't think the cortado was on their menu, but the barista said she could make me one. The taste of the espresso in the cortado was a little too bitter. I don't know if that is my preference speaking or the barista over extracted the espresso when pulling the shot. The drip brew was also a little too bitter. Again, I prefer and mostly only drink light roasted coffee, but this cup seemed a little too bitter even for a medium or dark roasted coffee. It wasn't smooth. Soul Full Cup has my vote. read more

Excellent place to hang out, people-watch, and enjoy some delicious pastries. The large back room is set up to be conducive for meetings and hang-outs for students with computers, which makes it nice to spend a few hours there. The baklava is amazing (is there such thing as bad baklava?) and their tea selection is pretty good. There are also clearly-marked vegan items, which I appreciate as someone with food allergies who usually has to eat vegan. read more

I have gotten hot drinks here twice when I came to the area for work. I like to get their chai tea with a bit of espresso. I usually came around 9a/10a and it wasn't that busy but the line can suddenly get long. There was only 1 clerk behind the desk so it doesn't take much to start to see the queue build up. Yummy I really enjoyed my iced coffee on day two of my weekend in Corning. I had a delicious iced coffee with a caramel shot and it's one of the better iced coffees I've had maybe ever. The staff were super nice and friendly and prices were good as well. We also got a slice of the orange glaze bread and blueberry banana bread. A one star review would be generous here. I've never met more angry staff. I asked for two apple ciders for my kids - they only had one but refused to let me split it into 2 cups for my kids. They then charge me for two and refused to give me back the money for the one they didn't give me. I waited over 25 minutes for a bagel to be toasted and they kept saying "I'll be ready when it's ready." I asked for a refund for the apple cider and was told the manager can only do that but she is not here and you'll have to wait over 30 min. Unbelievable. Do not come here!!! read more

Coffee has been dumbed down by that nationwide chain. The quality of the coffee drinks at Soul Full was positively European. The espresso was rich and chocolately enough to drink straight up,, not just strong and bitter enough to cut through the milk. The result was sublime, cappuccino as it should be. Yumm! read more

Do not trust Yelp on business hours. It said closes at 8:00 and arrived lightly after 5 pm to find them closing. This was a Huge deal as everything else closed at 5 pm or wasn't open. Idk what it is about Corning with so many things closed on Sunday and Monday or just very odd hours of operation. But the people there were really nice. When told "only want a cup of coffee, nothing special" they stayed open. This was after watching a shop close its doors at 5 on the dot. So walking a little farther than planned wasn't a big deal because there was the generally reliable Yelp hours. High marks for employees ready to close up but took the time to take care of 1 more customer. No 5th star for effort tho. Need to get the hours of operation right. Soul Full Cup has a nice atmosphere with great coffee. However, there seems to be a lot of drama happening internally that is apparent to customers. There are many baristas who move far too slowly, work in a dirty area consistently, and express negative attitudes to loyal customers. I have been a customer for many years now and unfortunately I have seen some of the best people leave while some of the worst staff stays. I am deducting 3 stars because of obvious poor management, training and staffing that directly effects the atmosphere. read more

I've only been to Soul Full Cup a handful of times, but I have been increasingly underwhelmed after each visit. Their coffee and drinks are overpriced for the quality. Most recently, I ordered a latte - the foam went flat, and the espresso was very bitter. The pastries are the coffeehouse's redeeming quality. Every single one I've tried was incredible - fresh and delicious. Soul Full Cup boasts an inviting atmosphere, and plenty of seating (which is pretty uncommon in small shops). The service is quick, but usually pretty unfriendly. All in all, SFC is a step up from the chains that populate the Corning area, but not somewhere I've been ridiculously impressed by. I truly wish I loved it - since it's the only coffee shop in the area, I'm sure I'll be back (and hopefully, I'll find a drink that's worth the hype!). read more
