Just stopped for lunch so this is solely a review of the cafe and bakery. Great selection of packaged, ready-to-eat meals. For hot food, there's pizza (which looked pretty tempting), a sub counter, and soup. I went for the sushi section, which had both the basics and some more fun things like the buffalo shrimp roll I got. The roll tasted very fresh, but wasn't rolled tightly enough, so the pieces wanted to unroll as I tried to pick them up. I recognize they're a grocery store and not a sushi bar though so I think the quality was totally reasonable - its the ingredients that matter more than the technique in this setting. Not a fan of the brand of packaged wasabi though. The seaweed salad I bought was frozen and I didn't noticed until I opened it. I was disappointed as I expected it to be fresh in this section - at the very least it should have been fully thawed before they put it with ready-to-eat food. The bakery had a great donut selection, otherwise there was less variety of things like muffins and cookies/bars that I'm used to at my home Johnson City location. Smaller and seemingly older location then the one I am used to around Allentown and organized slightly differently from the stores I am used to in PA and NJ but still a very nice location. The product selection is absolutely on par with the bigger siblings I am used and service is the same if not better. We usually like to stop by to get shopping here on our way back home from the Finger Lakes it just lacks some of the selection we like to see from a store in Easton but then again it is a different store. :) read more

I always stop here when I'm visiting family because I love Wegmans, It was the only store around when I was growing up so it brings back memories. Yesterday I stopped in to pick up cupcakes that I had ordered for my sons birthday party and was very disappointed. I was 30 minutes early to pick them up and they weren't ready, that's fine. But I was given a smart comment about it by the store clerk. The price was $50 instead of the $30 that we where quoted originally. Which also was accompanied by an attitude from the store clerk. Also, the frosting technique used on them is not visually appealing, I expected them to look nicer and I expected the color to match the colors that I requested, which they did not. This is the first time and will be the last time I will ever rely on this bakery. read more

This is a weird Wegmans for a Wegmans. I don't think it gives a great impression of the chain, and corporate should roll through and do a remodel. It's laid out strangely, with the smallest produce section I've ever seen at a Wegmans. They could use more local beers in the make your own 6-pack. the hot bar was kind of limp looking and a small selection. Still and all, it's a Wegmans, and that means it's still better than the average grocery. I'd be thrilled if there was a Wegmans this good in my town! read more

I love shopping at Wegmans! There is always plenty of parking, the lot is well lit after dark. The store is always well staffed, very clean, well lit and the options for everything you want are sometimes overwhelming. The store is beautifully laid out and every isle is clearly marked which helps if you just run in for a few things. The produce section is always filled with fresh stock. They offer everything you could possibly need or want. They also offer a great deal of produce that is ready to cook as it is washed, cut and packaged so it is ready to cook. The seafbood section always has my favorite fresh salmon, cod, live lobsters, etc. The bakery section always has my favorite marathon bread with cranberries (which is now $6.00 a loaf). Their cannoli's, cakes, cookies are all excellent. The staff is very helpful in every department. They also carry small gifts, party supplies, party wares, holiday items, ornaments, gift bags, etc. I love to shop here, however it appears they are doing away with some of my favorite brands and replacing them with their own Wegmans brand. I also am always surprised at how high the prices are and they just keep climbing. read more

Luv their 1-of-a-kind soda machine too, which allows you to mix & match a duplicitous number of drinks. I couldn't find any other grocery store in Corning, so I stumbled upon here. I was staying in the hotel, so I didn't buy anything that required further preparation. I did try their sushi, which was fantastic, and the fish was fresh. The execution and taste was also on point, which is hard to come by for a grocery store. The hot bar was also fantastic, if you had to ask me what is the best restaurant in town, I'd have to say Wegmans' food court. There are so many options, pasta, asian, subs, sandwiches, soup, salad, fruits. The price point here seems more on the higher side but then again, this is Wegman's not walmart. This is so not your standard grocery store. This is a grocery store, gourmet shop, coffee shop, bakery shop, sushi joint, pizzeria, salad/buffet bar, and cafe all rolled into one. During my short stay in Corning, I ate every meal here. The sashimi slices were fresh, my kids devoured the pizza slices, the salad bar had great variety, the ready to heat up Parmesan chicken wasn't bad, the chocolate chip cookies had big chunks of chocolate, just the way I like them. The seating area is plentiful with a big flat screen tv where we were able to catch Star Wars on one of their movie nights. After our meal there, I grabbed an iced matcha from the coffee bar and a box of yasso bars from the freezer section. They even have kids book shelf with crayons, coloring sheets, and books. Their bathroom is so baby/kid friendly. It had a built in steps for the kids to reach the sinks and the diapers were stocked from size 1-6. I've never seen a public bathroom with free supply of diapers before. On our way leaving Corning, I grabbed a large sub, which can easily out subway out of business. Wegman! - 2stars. I made a special stop at Wegmans coffee shop for Black Forest Mocha. Girl said " we don't have that anymore" mind you I just had it there less than a month ago. Then she said we can make it with raspberry, but not the cherry. I said fine, but please put an extra shot of espresso in it. Mind you I was charged for it.....it tasted like warm milk with a hint of raspberry. ABSOLUTELY no mocha or extra shot of espresso that I paid over $6 for. Very disappointed !! Is there a better grocery store/supermarket in the world? Simple answer: No way Jose. I hate to even call Wegmans simply a "grocery store" because it's really a wonderland of products and services. Growing up with a Wegmans nearby spoiled me rotten for any other grocery store. It would probably be easier to list what Wegmans doesn't have because this place is jam packed with goodness. The Market Cafe features sushi, salad bar, hot bar, chinese, pizza, subs, pasta, soups, coffee and a Fish Fry on Friday. They have a large floral department and pharmacy. The bakery bakes fresh bread, bagels, donuts and other items fresh each day. They make the best cakes you've ever seen from a "grocery store". Their Nature's Market includes tons of natural products, not only food, but non-food items like cleaning products, cosmetics, pet items, etc. This started out as ONE aisle, and now has it's own section. This includes the largest selection of gluten free items I've found outside of Whole Foods. Wegmans has even started producing their own brand of gluten free baking mixes and pasta that are affordable and tasty. Fresh lobsters in a tank among other fresh fish and meats. Their beer selection is out of this world. You could spend all day in the bulk candy section. They also have a full section of gift items and cards. Honestly, if you get a chance to go to a Wegmans, do it, even though you'll be ruined on your "normal" grocery story forever. read more

The Market Cafe has everything from sushi, salad bar with all kinds of sides, Chinese, pizza, subs, paninis(only for a few hours at lunch, pasta, soups, and a great full coffee bar with everything from drip to latte's. One note the buffet is pretty expensive you don't get good value there so be careful how much you order there! Has a great Organic section with most anything you could ask for heck my wife sent me for Kelp Seaweed last week and yes they had it! I admit it. I'm a Wegmans devotee. I've been to a Wegmans in Erie PA, one in Columbia MD and one in Crofton MD. Of course, since I'm in Corning, this is my favorite. I like that they are arranging all the stores pretty much the same, so you can easily go from one store to another and find the products in the places where you're used to them being. Over the years, they've followed trends and fine-tuned everything. Lots of cafe seating area, delicious eat-in prepared foods, the best in produce, meats, fishes. Great cheese shop, deli, bakery, sub shop, pizzas. Wegmans was the only place in town I could find a breakfast pizza for a special event. Well done--delicious. Do 95% of my shopping there, including prescriptions. Great service, the nicest employees. Wegmans is good to employees because they want them to pass on the good feeling to us, their customers. Scholarships for students, too. Monetary donations to non-profits and staff volunteers on many occasions in community projects. It's now May 2014 and Wegmans has an "app" that can be used at any of their many stores. Set up your shopping list; app gives aisle location of each item, plus price, nutrition info, etc. Estimated total price. Orders Rx online. Check Wegmans recipes (including your saved W recipes). Many other uses for the app. And, of course, Wegmans includes free, easily accessible, Wi-Fi. Just sign in and each time you enter ANY Wegmans store, you've got. No signing in each time. Everybody loves Wegmans. I would call my self a bandwagon lover as well. I didn't grow up around one so I probably don't appreciate it quite to the level of others but that doesn't mean I can't see the greatness of the place. Wonderful and amazing- like every other Wegmans ever. What prompted me to write this review is that the baby changing station was perfectly kept and stocked: they had Wegmans brand diapers sizes1-6 and wipes in the cubby holes by the changing table! We had a pants-destroying blowout last week and that made my trip sooooooo much smoother than it would have been otherwise! Aside from that- the cafe is always tasty, produce is fresh and local, and the Wegmans (generic) brand is usually the best option in terms of price, taste, and no added ingredients/colors. As the first and best grocery store in Corning, Wegmans holds a special place in my heart. It was the grocery store I grew up with, it's a wonderful place. When I was younger I refused to call it a grocery store, it wasn't then and isn't now on the same level as any of their competitors. Today there is an endless selection of fresh produce, meat, deli, fish, dairy, cheese, and now health food. Not just organic health food but the weird stuff too. As far as the service goes, if you need something ask the produce/meat/fish manger and he'll get it for you. This goes for cheese too, it's pretty incredible. As a 24 hour establishments Wegmans is hands down no competition your place to buy groceries. Wegmans has consistently been named one of the best company to work for by Fortune magazine. Last year Wegmans was 5th best, this year, 2010, it was named number three. In 2005 it was number one. read more

I was due to pick up 2 pies at the Wegmans in Corning Ny on 12/28/17 . Which I ordered 2 weeks prior . 1 was a lemon meringue.. the other pumpkin . The morning I was due to pick the pies up I got a call from their bakery . They told me they couldn't make my pumpkin pie .. it was out of season . What ?? Whenever I'm in upstate New York near the finger lakes, this is my go to grocery store. Although it is more than a supermarket that you will find in NYC because this store has a big prepared food court, which includes pizza, coffee and wine bar. This store has everything and sometimes I feel like there are too many choices. But the one thing that I always go to Wegmans for is their pretzel rolls. They are the best thing that you will ever eat! Wegmans has the best bakery but there is nothing that they don't do bad. They have the best store around. The only problem is that I wish we had a Wegmans in NYC, but then again I don't how you would fit such a big store in the city.
