A shout out to Trader Joe's snacks! Dried Kalamata Olives in a snack? Only Trader Joe's would offer that. Well, we love Greek olives, so we tried the Olive & Herbs Mixed Nuts: roasted cashew and pecan pieces, roasted almond slices (in the bag and on the label, but not listed in the ingredients), dried Kalamata (made with sea salt, safflower oil, EVOO), lightly coated with a powdered herb mix (oregano, sage, thyme, basil, marjoram, rosemary). The nuts taste fresh, and shine through the herbs. Note: This is Not a trail mix. Be prepared for a real kick of Kalamata flavor! A number of us felt the olive flavor was too strong. For me, it was heavenly intensity. It does make for a snack to savor, more than one to dive into. And please consider if a Greek olive flavor will go with your beverage. Vodka? Sure. Gin? Maybe. I might try mezcal before tequila. I dont care what the "dirty" recipes say, I veto vermouth. Hmm. Moonshine or Everclear? Who says this can't be fun? I was glad to snag multiple O&H Kringle for the holiday season without any problem! The bread selection is also a notable draw. Personally I view Trader Joe's as being a staple to any community. When I go to Trader Joe's I can always expect quality products and a relaxed atmosphere. When I go grocery shopping here, I don't feel rushed. I can take my time to look at the fruits and vegetables. I describe the encounters with Trader Joe staff as being very helpful. The team members come across as being attentive and respectful. When we check out our products, the cashiers take the initiative to talk to us. At which point, I feel more comfortable about my purchase. Of course, I go food shopping with Joseph. He buys groceries as he cooks at home. I like the location as it allows customers to shop at other stores such as TJ Maxx, Ulta Beauty or Old Navy. A solid place for grocery shopping. read more

This store was fully stocked. The staff were all friendly. One employee who was giving out samples shared some recommendations for nature hikes in the area. Another employee saw that the orange the customer picked didn't look so great, offered to get another one. When the customer said not to worry, the cashier gave them the orange for free! Such consideration and kindness. I found some delicious cheeses and all the new products. The store was very clean and there was a calm vibe. It was the best Trader Joe's shopping experience I've ever had. read more

Nice clean Trader Joe's with a good selection of the many classic TJ favorites. A pleasant surprise was that the parking lot was felt pretty spacious as compared to the infamous TJ style lots. Staff was friendly and efficient at getting us checked out. The produce was fresh, and we found everything we were looking for, and more. It's always fun to browse and see what kind of new and seasonal items appear. I definitely recommend checking out the card selection too. It's nice to have a Trader Joe's option Ithaca for when I'm around town. I don't do all my grocery shopping here, but it's a nice complement to my regular grocery getting experiences. I can find unique items that I know will appease my random cravings... they even have cha siu bao in the frozen food section. While they're not exactly like the cha siu bao (manapua) that I had while traveling around Hawaii (which usually contain the Cantonese red pork), it's nice to have a quick option (side note: I've purchased these from the frozen food section of local Asian markets up to this point, but many are pork buns with oyster sauce or other options that don't always taste that great). It doesn't hurt that Trader Joe's has seasonal items that are really interesting too (see? https://www.buzzfeed.com/hannahloewentheil/new-trader-joes-december-2021). I def picked up some of the recently released Truffle Cream Filled Gnocchi when I was sauntering through the frozen food section the other day. Mind you, it's not just frozen foods that I'm buying here... the various trail mixes, cheeses, pre-made sandwiches or salads, and so much more... I appreciate the options they provide. TJs is an institution in the NW- one of the stores I miss the most being a transplant. The store is small and carries mostly their own branded products. If you are having/going to a party this is a great spot. Some of my favorite items here are flowers, cheese, gifts, mixed nuts, beer & desserts. They carry seasonal items like wreaths. Most recently I bought gifts here for my daughters teachers- felted wool trivets and olive wood spoons along with mint green tea. I also picked up felted garlands for my Christmas tree. The pot stickers, frozen Mac and cheese and croissants are all freezer staples. Best of all the staff is SO kind and helpful. It really is a fun place to grocery shop. Trader Joe's is a god-send. Offered to make dinner for our hosts not realizing that one of the members of the family is vegetarian, so we hoofed it to TJ's which came to our rescue with vegetarian soup dumplings, pad see ew from Thailand, meatless bulgogi, pa jeon from Korea, green beans from France and ice cream sandwiches. We love Trader Joe's so much that we drive an hour and a half up to this location from our residence in Northern PA! We usually buy a LOT so we don't have to drive up too often and the baggers do a great job playing Tetris to make everything fit in our freezer bags. The employees are all very friendly and accommodating and the store is always heavily stocked with our favorites! We just wish there was a TJs in Binghamton, NY. read more

It's nice to have them in Ithaca at last ... They famously have good deals on a lot of items, like pre-made salads and European cheese which doesn't cost an arm & a leg ... Another famous item is the Cali dried apricots, even though old-timers can remember when they were sold in pounder bags for scarcely more than the half-pound bags cost today ... But those have been out entirely of late -- neither unsulfured or sulfured the last time I shopped there -- although I was still able to score a bag of Turkish (wonderful but in a different way!) What's going on with the mixed nuts/ trail mixes lately I wonder? ... They need to re-check the supply line/ formulae on those ... I wondered what was wrong with the taste -- & swiftly found out from the ingredients ... The first lesson anyone in the nut industry would learn on day one, is that you would never ever use rice bran oil for nuts, since it ruins the taste of the nuts ... read more
