"Blue and Red" Buffalo Shrimp Roll & Decor Cookie
    Dana S.

Just stopped for lunch so this is solely a review of the cafe and bakery. Great selection of packaged, ready-to-eat meals. For hot food, there's pizza (which looked pretty tempting), a sub counter, and soup. I went for the sushi section, which had both the basics and some more fun things like the buffalo shrimp roll I got. The roll tasted very fresh, but wasn't rolled tightly enough, so the pieces wanted to unroll as I tried to pick them up. I recognize they're a grocery store and not a sushi bar though so I think the quality was totally reasonable - its the ingredients that matter more than the technique in this setting. Not a fan of the brand of packaged wasabi though. The seaweed salad I bought was frozen and I didn't noticed until I opened it. I was disappointed as I expected it to be fresh in this section - at the very least it should have been fully thawed before they put it with ready-to-eat food. The bakery had a great donut selection, otherwise there was less variety of things like muffins and cookies/bars that I'm used to at my home Johnson City location. The frosted sugar cookie was a little dry for my taste but still okay.

My all time favorite grocery store! They have everything imaginable and if they don't, the staff is well equipped, friendly, and happy to help you find what you're looking for. I have been going to this wegmans for my entire life, and all of the wegmans that have been made since are even better. They always have freshly made food, baked goods, fresh flowers, and sometimes even food samplings! I would recommend this grocery store to anyone!

Clean, service is okay, some are really helpful, others not so much. Pricing is okay. Produce and seafood sections are excellent.

A shout out to Trader Joe's snacks!…read more Dried Kalamata Olives in a snack? Only Trader Joe's would offer that. Well, we love Greek olives, so we tried the Olive & Herbs Mixed Nuts: roasted cashew and pecan pieces, roasted almond slices (in the bag and on the label, but not listed in the ingredients), dried Kalamata (made with sea salt, safflower oil, EVOO), lightly coated with a powdered herb mix (oregano, sage, thyme, basil, marjoram, rosemary). The nuts taste fresh, and shine through the herbs. Note: This is Not a trail mix. Be prepared for a real kick of Kalamata flavor! A number of us felt the olive flavor was too strong. For me, it was heavenly intensity. It does make for a snack to savor, more than one to dive into. And please consider if a Greek olive flavor will go with your beverage. Vodka? Sure. Gin? Maybe. I might try mezcal before tequila. I dont care what the "dirty" recipes say, I veto vermouth. Hmm. Moonshine or Everclear? Who says this can't be fun? This is an unusual snack due to a delightful pungency that is intensified by drying the Kalamata olives. Only Trader Joe's can be wrong And right in the same snack.

They sell groceries, cheeses, meats, snacks, bread, coffee, and awesome swag, all from local farms, and restaurants, and businesses in the area. Plus the owners are at cash register with their little baby, happy to help guide you to their favorites. They grew up in Burdett and can give some great advice on where the cool hangout spots are. This is also the spot if you want to have an evening in or pack a picnic to take to the lake stuffed with amazing goodness from the local farms I am a "Part-time" local and today was my first day popping in. I wanted to stay in tonight but still have a delicious local meal. I bought a bag of Polenta from Farmer Ground. (Trumansburg) Chèvre garlic and pepper from Lively run goat dairy. (Interlaken) Chilled Mediterranean quinoa salad (Stonecat Cafe in Hector NY) and frozen Garlic bratwurst (packed by Timberland Meats (Dundee) farm fresh asparagus, and chocolate milk from (Sunset view creamery) They have great shaded parking, and I was able to pull in on a nice windy day and leave my dog in the car with the windows down. I ran into a couple of other locals that I knew and struck up a pleasant conversation. They have picnic table out front, so you can buy your farmdelicious foods and eat them out side and enjoy the day. Locals and tourists alike, we're hanging out at the picnic tables, having fun. Their decor is so cute. Perfect country store vibe, with a granola and wine twist. It's nice to see a small family business connecting locals farms and community through the food they carry. Today was an extra bonus day, because Nickels BBQ food truck was parked in lot, their BB sauce is also sold inside Burdett exchange, if you want your own bottled sauce. After I cashed out with ny groceries. I popped over to them for a brisket sandwich, coleslaw, and fries. If you're lucky enough to see them there when you pop over, highly recommend giving them a try, delicious and I will review them separately. This place is downtown burdett 3 simple streets from Route 414 and is a must try, and grab some gifts for your friends while you're there. Now my biggest decision today is what wine to pair with my dinner in tonight. Lol

We both had a cup of Potato and Ham soup, and split a BLT. It was delicious, very fresh. Not skimpy on the bacon...at all. The sandwich was perfectly distributed. Much larger than I anticipated. Made with their local bacon and tomatoes. Loved the atmosphere, the cafe had a cozy vibe. We were seated next to the gas fireplace. We had enough privacy to talk, noise level was normal. Order your food at the counter, collect your condiments, napkins, and Salt pepper shakers at long counter. Then sit down and enjoy yourself, until they bring it out. Service was very quick. After we cleaned up our plates and table. They have a place for you to put your dirty dishes and cups, along with trash, and recycling. Then we went into the bulk grocery part to look around. We both ended up buying sweet treats for later. I bought a cherry fry pie. It was super fresh and tasty. I enjoyed it with my evening herbal tea. I also bought some rice and a few other staples. I will definitely be back for a 2nd trip. They have a lot going on. The place was super clean. Items easy to find. It's not all bulk, they have their items from small to bulk, so if you are in a 1 or 2 person household, do not let the bulk in their name scare you off. It's worth a trip, for some organic homemade items.
