Onion and cheese jalapeño focaccia

First time visitation , bread specialty store with tons of of variation . Got two kinds of focaccia onion and jalapeño cheese. It is ok for my taste , very greasy and it is a little tough to chew . People don't have strong teeth might need to watch out for it .

Set up at Trumansburg Farmer's Market

Excellent bread, got the rye with currants and cranberries. Sad that we only bought one loaf and didn't try more.

Cornell has the most beautiful, or gorges campus ( Ithaca is gorges)... built over a few gorges with safety nets and bars to prevent the stress of academic life from making drastic decisions ( sad but true). Each quad is unity and has its own feel, and there are several newer buildings, not all consistent with the original beautiful architecture. No visit here would be complete without visits to Uris Library's President AD White Library, McGraw Tower, the terrace overlooking campus and Cayuga Lake from Willard Straight Hall, Sage Chapel, the Law School's Annabel Taylor Hall, Beebe Lake, Lynah Rink... you get it. It's beautiful, gorgeous as they say in Ithaca they have such a variety of programs they offer. The campus is beautiful. It's up all these cascading hills with waterfalls breaking through the campus in two spots. There's a combination of modern buildings with Panik views. Collegetown has some great restaurants actually some of the better restaurants in the city of Ithaca are in Collegetown they like make your own bento and some hot pot places and a variety of other cuisines, but cool old architecture, vine covered buildings there's so much to experience in and learn at Cornell. Rachel our server was great at getting the girls real coloring books and a big assortment of crayons. Somebody is really thinking about the little kids. Huge selection of New York beers, wines, and ciders. I tasted the girl's cheese pizza. This is not your average cheese pizza. I truly wish I had taken the time to analyze the complexity of the sauce, because I would love to make something half as nice. Omah (the grandmother, my wife) had fried ravioli. The shells were nice, golden and crunchy. But the cheese filling was some magical mixture of mozz and ricotta that dazzled my tongue. I had the NY Burger. Background: I am not a New Yorker. I was raised in the deep South, and up to now had questioned the value of anything "New York." (Excepting my grandchildren and their mom, of course.) I expect pretentious and parochial, over-priced and lacking value. The burger I had at New York Kitchen was the best I've ever had. I'm 72. I'm a meat eater. I've eaten thousands and thousands of burgers. Hands down this was the best, ever. The meat itself was super tasty and juicy, perfectly cooked to my specification. The brioche roll was perfect. The Bibb lettuce and tomato perfect, too. The sauce? Magic and mystifying. I didn't expect a lot going in to the restaurant, because the architecture is striking. (In my experience, focus on environment takes focus off the food. New York Kitchen breaks all of my rules. I am so happy to have been there. Thanks to my son and his family!

The ambience and gardens outside were also wonderful and wish we came a bit earlier to enjoy the lake views. Check-in is easy and classroom is right when you come in. The stations were well laid out with everything you needed. Our Chef Eli was very entertaining and we learnt some new knife cutting skills. The menu for us was German Oktoberfest themed with pork schnitzel, homemade spaetzle, and a harvest sauté vegetables. We throughly enjoyed the experience and class also came with 2 drinks and the meal you cooked together to enjoy. It was nice to support this wonderful 501c3 organization but do think the tickets are quite pricey for what you get.
