Butcher-shop quality meets pit-master soul! Rating:…read more If you are anywhere near Sayre (or even just passing through on Route 220), do your stomach a favor and pull over. This isn't just "good for Pennsylvania" BBQ--this is legitimate, high-quality smokehouse craft. The Food: Coming from a butcher shop background, these guys clearly know their meat. * The Brisket: I'm picky about brisket, but theirs was rendered perfectly with a beautiful smoke ring. No knife needed. * Pulled Pork: Super juicy. I highly recommend getting it with the Southern Sweet sauce. * The Sides: Don't sleep on the Salt Potatoes (a local staple) or the Sweet Potato Biscuits. The biscuits are a total sleeper hit--slightly sweet, fluffy, and perfect for mopping up extra sauce. The Vibe: It's a classic, no-frills BBQ joint. It's clean, the staff is incredibly "small-town friendly," and you can tell it's a local favorite by how busy the takeout counter stays. There's a nice outdoor area if you want to eat in the fresh air, which is a big plus during the summer. The "Be Aware": They are closed on Sundays and Mondays, so don't make the mistake of driving out here on a weekend whim without checking the calendar! Also, the Burnt Ends sell out fast--if they have them when you walk in, buy them immediately. Verdict: Huge portions, fair prices, and meat that actually tastes like it spent time in a smoker. I'll definitely be back for a full rack of ribs next time.

I went to cans and clams fun time great music and clams and food was good. I went to a wedding.. june 30 a very hot day. We were taking pictures at 4pm outside but first we went inside to register our etc. Come after the outdoor vows part we went back inside to cool off but there wasnt any cooling off. No ac was working although the waitresses said well its hot outside it takes time to get it cool. If I was the business owner and knew people were coming as early as 4pm I would have started that up at noon or earlier. By dinner time people were very hot complaining where is the AC??we suffered in heat for 4 hours. Well.. it wasn't working. We as guests knew this at 4pm. People came from out of town and the elderly as well for this wedding. Who wants to dance in heat and have a stroke. The waitresses said they had no stand up fans like one would think in a catering business just in case for this very reason. it's nice to have stand up fans as they have bands weddings and in case this should happen. They did not have any such thing. wow. I mean their in business. People did leave early and no one wanted to dance but those who did dint do it for long.Towards the end the ac was fixed but a little to late after the fact people left and was discouraged to have a good time. The food was great. The waitresses and bartender persevered in heat and they were attentive. I only hope they give a creditor refunded money to the couple wh0 paid for this hall.
