My boyfriend and I came to breakfast on a Saturday morning around 11:30 AM. The variety of dishes that they had on the menu was great, the prices were good, they even have no-carb breakfast, which was impressed. I took off one star, because when we came in it was very confusing to which door we're supposed to go into. We walked into where the big sign was but we were rudely greeted and Reprimanded that we came into the wrong door. The restaurant has also a furniture store, and arts and craft store. Lots to see. I had the French toast which was so so I thought the waitresses curt interaction with me was due to me asking too many questions or the busy morning. however, after reading the review below, I now realize this is a problem the restaurant needs to fix. my first (and last) time eating at this establishment and i was quite disappointed. there was an elderly man, seemed to be a veteran, and was trying to ask three waitresses a question. two were quite older ladies with glasses, one with a dark red bob and the other curly black short hair, and another woman that seemed to be in her 30s-40s. the waitresses customer service was quite disturbing and upset myself and the tables around me. this elderly man expressed he was just confused and the younger waitress said "i'm done explaining this get out, just leave" and the older woman were just as rude. it took everything in me to not post this interaction on the internet and say something. this was such a disgusting and unnecessary issue that the staff handled poorly. i hope action gets taken immediately. read more

My husband and I ate here last week. We had the crab cakes and lobster bisque and it was amazing. Excellent food and good service. We definitely will be back. I was there for Saturday for lunch. Great and fast service. The pulled pork sandwich was great. The cole slaw had just the right mix of creamy and tangy. This review is in regards to the restaurant part of it. I've been here a few times and the food was alright, but for some reason I was expecting more out of a place like this. For breakfast the coffee was decent. The pancakes had a good flavor but they were on the tough side. The scrambled eggs weren't fluffy at all and the bacon was average. the toast was fine and the home fries were seasoned perfectly but I didn't think they were crisp enough. the breakfast prices were on par with an average diner. the lunch/dinner prices on the other hand were too much in my opinion. 5 Pierogies with a side of veggies for $10? RIPOFF. I know they're homemade, but other places in the area also do homemade ones that are better quality for less money. the quality was ok but they weren't too far off from mrs T's, and the onions that they served with them needed to be cooked longer. I also tried the half order of chicken and biscuits. these came with a side of mashed potatoes and gravy and I actually liked the flavor of this meal, but at over $8 for a half of a biscuit topped with gravy and some chicken in it again I felt ripped off, there needed to be more meat in on the plate. The place looks nice but the dining area is a bit on the small side. The service has been pretty good though each time I went. The location is a bit out of the way for me, I wanted to try it a few times but I probably won't be back. Our Country Hearts is a gift store, a furniture store, AND a small restaurant. Sound odd? Yeah, it sorta is. The furniture sales staff seem to double as hosts/reservation takers - but it all seems to run quite smoothly. At the very least, the furniture store (which also currently hosts the entrance to the restaurant part) provides a very comfy/spacious place to wait for your table. (We waited 10-15 minutes at around 10:30 am - a peak Sunday breakfast time. Breakfast menu runs till 11:45 on Sundays.) Food? Mmmm. We were personally impressed. Simple and comforting and very hearty portions. Think Belgian waffles, a large selection of omelets, pancakes, eggs, meats, etc. The obligatory buttered toast with jam on the side. Home fries that had just a touch of spice - they weren't either raw or mushy - just perfect little fried nuggets of potato yumminess. The decor is casual - country kitchen chic. Lots of tchotchkes (for sale, natch) on the wall. Diner attire ranged from John Deere hats and hoodies to pressed church suits. Service was very attentive. Our server never let my coffee mug get fully empty, nor did she forget to bring syrup, ketchup, etc., nor did she rush us out of our table. Prices are very reasonable - cheaper than IHOP for better quality food. $5.50 for a large omelet stuffed with veggies and cheese, $5.00 or so for three plate-sized pancakes, $1.75 for an extra side of bacon, $1-2 for beverages. On labor day we came in with a group of people for lunch. From the moment we walked in the door we felt uncomfortable. The staff seemed very annoyed that we came in at 1:30 and they were suppose to close at 3 for the holiday. We waited for 45 minutes just to be told we couldn't sit together so we sat at 2 different tables. I come from a family who owns a restaurant (3rd generation family owned) trust me when I tell you I could have figured out a way to sit 11 people at a table. We were treated very poorly by hostess and wait staff when we voiced our concerns about not being able to sit together. There was eye rolling, whispering and down right poor treatment towards us. Wow, what a lovely place! I came here for lunch and had a very healthy and delicious chicken wrap. I had also tried the banana creme pie and the month before the irish chocolate pie. Oh my god were those amazing. I'll definitely be dreaming of that chocolate pie for awhile! From my understanding, they have a new featured pie every month. I can't wait to go back and try their famous chicken and biscuits. It is a really cute southern environment and really friendly wait staff. I do like this restaurant as it is close by. I prefer their breakfast and their desserts to their lunch. Service is fast and friendly. I have never been disappointed with the breakfast. Omelettes, French toast and quiche are tasty and filling. For lunch, the French dip is decent. The only time I was ever turned off by the food was when I ordered the Asian chicken salad. It is pretty much an average hot stir fry dish over lettuce. It would be better over rice. I'm not big on warm juicy lettuce. Seasonal desserts are delightful! Our Country Hearts has great quality furniture! We bought a couch a few years ago..we were able to select the material and color of the fabric, which has been very durable and easy to clean. I went to Our Country Hearts with my mom for lunch and it was amazing. I got the special of scallops in a lemon sauce and it was cooked to perfection as was my moms meal. We walked around the furniture store after and I ended up buying a mission style coffee table with storage underneath that is not only beautiful and sturdy but it's made in America! Julie was my saleswoman and she is so nice and very helpful, she showed me many options to choose from. We then went to the gift shop and I got a great table runner for the coffee table and 2 place mats. Eh, their food is blah. My pirogies were doughy. My green beans were mushy. We got carrots as a side for my one year old nephew. They served them raw! (nowhere on the menu did it say raw carrots, maybe I'm missing something but typically veggies are cooked when served as a side, but you know what they say when you assume). Yay choke hazard! Seriously who serves a one year old raw carrots? However, the kids loved the homemade kraft Mac and cheese (never mind the fact that we could have saved some money and got a $1 microwaveable Kraft cup at the dollar store). My fiancé's Rubin was mainly cabbage. They really skimped on the corned beef. And, his fries tasted like old frying oil. YUCK! The dinner rolls were bulk pre-made rolls that we could have gotten at a gas station. (Woo hoo home cooking) Even our raspberry ice tea was gross. It tasted over concentrated or something. Not sure how you mess up fountain iced tea. All in all, we were not impressed. We will only return if we want to buy some of their beautiful (but overpriced) wooden furniture. My boyfriend and I live right up the road from our country hearts and we love, love their breakfast! Usually, we have a great experience and this time it was just different. We got a server I don't remember having before, her name was Becky. She greeted us and I've never felt so rushed and cut off in my life. At first I just thought she may be busy. My boyfriend asked me if I felt rushed and told me he didn't even get to order everything he wanted, so I ordered his side of sausage through a different server because ours couldn't even stay at our table for longer than 30 seconds. Not even 2 minutes later she's out chatting it up with the tables that have families and kids at them... it just didn't sit right with me. I'm 23 years old and I have served at many places.
