I have given this place THREE separate opportunities to be what it has the potential to be. I saw…read morethat a consignment shop was coming to Endicott and they would also be selling local artisans' goods...this looked like a WONDERFUL addition to the usually dying town. Each and every time I have gone in, the woman who owns it makes a great big deal about how she "does not hover" as you shop. That is correct. However, she proceeds to shout across the entire length of the shop to stalk from afar and provide an unnecessary commentary about every.single.item you look at, touch or walk past. This is annoying enough but it came to a head when I saw a BEAUTIFUL purse in the front window. I came in, with every intention to buy it, right there, on the spot. As I reached in and picked it up, she had an absolute CONIPTION that that was a window display and NO ONE but her is to touch it. Display, my backside, it's a hodge podge of crap in a window. I was so shocked that I gave it to her...as I could not seem to have the competence to put it back where I found it. I looked at the front display as she harped her mantra of not hovering, whilst in the same breath commented on EVERYTHING and I said I was running late and had to leave immediately. I will NOT be returning nor can I recommend that anyone else waste her time as she trolls her potential customers, looking like Marjorie the trash heap (i.e. Fraggle Rock) and sounding/acting like the Junk Lady from Labyrinth. She currently has a sign in the window that states that they cannot receive any more consignment items...because she can't sell any. Between her poor attitude and high prices, I don't see her staying around much longer...thankfully.

DO NOT SELL YOUR USED BABY GEAR HERE. Extremely deceptive and dishonest. I dropped off a Momma Roo…read morewhich is a top of the line baby swing. They lied, repeatedly, when they told me the retail cost. This company bases their buy prices off of lowest retail price. Being in a financial bind, I accepted the offer even though I had doubts. They quoted a much lower price than what I expected. When I did check the price, I realized they made a mistake (perhaps) and went back into the store to discuss the issue. Upon entering the store, I explained it might be a mistake and was told there was nothing to be done. One of the girls kept insisting the price was for $170 for the swing. That price is for a refurbished swing. There is a lower price point swing by the same manufacturer that sells for $160. Refurbished swings that are the same model as mine sell for $170 while brand new swings sell for $220. They offered to return the swing back to me but I refused as I'm in a financial bind at the moment. They didn't care enough to do proper diligence when purchasing my items. That means they won't treat you right either. When I called them out on it, they went above and beyond to embarrass me and make it seem like I was in the wrong. It was humiliating. At one point, one of the clerks said there was staining on the web belt (it's not gross just minor) and stated she wouldn't sell it for more than $80. They even went as far as to show pricing (for a refurbished swing) at $170. I tried to point out that it was refurbished but the girl wouldn't even go to the online store page so I could show her. So not only did they take advantage of me, they tried to save face in front of their customers by making me look like I was a deranged woman. Do not sell your baby gear here. It was a terrible experience.

Ive never had a good experience there but this last one was the worst. I drive 45 minutes to get to…read moreany location but this time we headed towards vestal and thought we should go there. I had a lot of toys and as soon as I walked in the girls were all rude. Immediately ran over and said buying was over at 4. My issue is their Facebook still says buying monday through Saturday is until 6. Had they changed the times on their Facebook I wouldnt have wasted my time Or I would have planned to go earlier. After I showed them their mistake with my phone they just looked at me like I was crazy and wouldnt help me. maybe train your employees on what customer service is and also update your online hours on all social platforms! Will definitely be taking my service to the Syracuse one, better customer service and wayyyy bigger and cleaner!

I've had good experiences at this Thrifty Shopper store in Endwell, in the past…read more I've also donated a fair amount of items to their store, in hopes someone can use the items and not pay a high price. However, a recent experience is frustrating and dampens my review. I bought a used DVD from the store for $3.23. I brought home the DVD and tried playing it and all I would get was a "disc error" on my DVD player. No matter what I did, it simply would Not load the video. I took a closer look, with a magnifying glass and discovered tiny little "holes" poked in the surface of the DVD media disc. This is the reason why I kept getting a "disc error"! So I went to the store and spoke to a lady at the counter. I told her what the problem was, took out the disc from the container and let her look at it. She confirmed what I saw on the disc..tiny holes scattered all over the disc. Then I asked for a refund because that particular Title was not duplicated in the large "shelves" of used DVDs. She asked another lady if I could be refunded my $3.23. That lady said no and said "We don't give refunds, just exchanges". I said that it can't be exchanged because there isn't another copy of that Title on the shelves. I know because I spent 40 minutes looking for the one that I did find. Anyway, she wouldn't give me a refund. I told her that the DVD was no good and the store should throw it in the garbage, and NOT PUT IT BACK ON THE Shelves where I got it from in the first place! My point is, how do any of the customers that buy used DVDs in that store know whether ANY of the DVDs on those shelves are no good and have simply been put back on the shelve after someone like me has returned it?? I understand the refund policy, BUT now I Don't Trust Thrifty Shopper anymore! I will not go in there anymore and I will not donate anything to them any longer. I'm done with Thrifty Shopper! Let the Buyer Beware (caveat emptor).

For having such a large location, the selection in the men's section is bone dry. They do have a large selection of household items and other hard goods.
