The colorful exterior should be enough to draw you into this establishment but if pink and green turns you off like 1999, you'll have to give it a pass and go inside anyway. Inside, they have an exquisite selection of dishes available for purchase but look highly breakable so those with children should proceed carefully. If you go left you'll get to see what Tom's is most famous for, the coffee! You can select the coffee yourself through the plastic canisters or select a bag at the top if you can't find your flavor or are in a hurry. Some unique coffee flavors that they carry here are coffee cake and snicker doodle! I have yet to find those flavors anywhere else! Besides coffee, you are able to buy a variety of sauces from some of the local restaurants in the area. Not sure what they taste like? No worries! You are able to sample the sauces free of charge to determine which one suits your fancy. They also have a good variety of fudge, candy, and salsa available as well as a whole other section of the store dedicated to random household decorative items, "gifts" is what it probably should be called. In short, Toms is an excellent little shop in Binghamton that is a great source for any local or visitor to pick up some great coffee...or if you want some free sauce sampling.

The lady running the cash register was more focused on drink making then taking our order which mind you, is fair since it seemed like she was the only one making drinks too. However, she went so slow to make other drinks since she started to chat up a regular. Again, not the worst thing but you should still move a little quicker for a morning coffee shop. When we placed our order, we had to wait awhile since the chatting continued and honestly, I had no idea why it would take so long to pull one or two shots of espresso and froth milk but ten plus minutes later and damn. The latte was utter undrinkable. The milk tasted off and it was barely frothed. It had the flavor of a wet dishcloth that sat around for too long. The espresso had no flavor either and it was just hot water. The nitro cold brew tasted a bit better but honestly, I've had better on tap. I give it a two stars because the decor was cute. I heard a dog bark around where the food items were which was off putting to me so I refrained from ordering food so I cannot comment on that. I mean unless you're a local, you probably can skip out of this place if you want a decent drink.

Browsing their inventory - it's extensive and generally well organized - is kind of entering a time warp. You won't find that much fiction published in, say, the past 20 or more years. But going back further is where they have their depth. Want, for example, to fill out your Erskine Caldwell first edition collection? They've got you covered. It's actually a little uncanny. They also have a whole menu of seasonal drinks (about 10), including chai and matcha lattes, which is so fun. Roasted Coffee Bar also sells local products, including candles, honey, earrings, and of course, coffee beans/ground coffee. Finally, instead of calling my name or drink, the barista, clearly a fellow fan, just yelled, "Who's got a Harry Potter mug?" Love the staff, decor, and ambience, which was otherwise quiet. I look forward to returning if I'm ever in town again.
