The establishment has a nice mixture of cozy and airy, which was perfect for a lazy(ish) Sunday. I hate to use this word, but I'll use it anyway (because I can't think of a better descriptor): the service here is "super" friendly, and very knowledgeable, particularly regarding the ales on tap. The barkeep gave us a few sample pours without waiting for us to ask, which we greatly appreciated. Because of that, we were more than happy with the pints we ordered. Moving on to the food: the roasts were delicious, in particular the pork loin, which was moist and flavorful. I enjoyed my roast beef as well. The Yorkshire pudding was wonderful and I might have been just as happy eating that alone for my meal, to be honest. The pub is in walking distance of the touristy areas of Greenwich, so it's easy enough to put some good food in your belly and continue on to your sightseeing, afterward.

You walk up to the counter for service, and the team behind the counter whips up your food right then. People in the queue with me were advising me on my choices because you could get the sticky toffee pudding with ice cream or custard. They all recommended custard since obviously they could tell by the way I was acting, I've never had it before. The pie and mash come with either liquor or gravy and again people were advising us to try the gravy. We were not steered wrong. The lamb pie was excellent. I don't know how they keep these crusts from getting soggy because the pies are already made but somehow they do and it was really tasty. The sticky toffee pudding was a little sweet for me and actually I think I would've liked it better with ice cream. I think it might've cut the sweetness a little bit but all in all it was an excellent experience. The weight staff were helpful and efficient. So this place is not a white tablecloth place. It is just a little hole in the wall bar, but it was exactly what we were looking for.

As this year V-Day happened to fall on a Sunday, I was struggling to bookna large table, despite starting to call around a full month before the event. I called almost every restaurant in the O2 and received a shower of nopes. Finally, the man I talked to on the phone at the Harvester said it wouldn't be a problem, so I booked the table for 6pm. The Wednesday before our planned outing I called them again to confirm the table. The man I spoke to seemed rushed, but he confirmed my booking, so I figured all was good to go. However, when I arrived on Sunday, a little early to get organised before everyone showed up, they had no record of a large booking. The restaurant was incredibly busy and there was a long queue outside... Great! I spoke to the manager and she looked through their booking system to see if it was put on the wrong day, but couldn't find anything either. She took down the details of when I made my calls so she could inquire with her staff and asked us to wait a little so she could make enough room for our large group. Despite it being one of their busiest day, she made it happen! Within fifteen minutes we had a large table for those of us who had shown up early, ten minutes after that we had further tables nearby to accommodate the rest of our group. I was very impressed with how well the manager handled the situation, so extra stars for that! The food was unremarkable but enjoyable, regular pub-style fare. Unfortunately they were out of a few items, but seeing as it was Sunday evening on a super busy weekend, I can't fault them for that. All in all we were quite content with our meal here.

Do not come here if you are vegetarian…read more Went here for a Christmas meal with friends and ordered the vegetarian option of batterered halloumi. When it arrived it looked suspiciously similar to the cod batter so I asked if it was cooked in the same fryer (being allergic to fish I didn't want to take the risk), and found out from a very annoyed manager that all the chips and fried foods EVEN VEGETARIAN are cooked with the fish! The disgruntled manager took back the food and had the chef cook everything in the "gluten free" fryer which apparently didn't have fish in it. After leaving the restaurant pissed at the way I was treated, I was also sick because clearly this magical gluten free fryer isn't so fish free after all. This is therefor making the "vegetarian" options invalid and almost causing people with fish allergies to have a reaction. Apparently all the harvesters are the same according to the manager, so they lie to their customers about the food (is that legal?!), and they definitely aren't happy when you call them out on it.

You've been to a couple riverside pubs in the area only to find them all teeming with yuppie-types,…read moremonopolising every last bit of glorious patio space on what is perhaps the last sunny day of a summer that's done its best to cling on desperately to sunshine and mild temperatures. You just want to enjoy it, I know. I know. So when you can't even get a space INSIDE one of the aforementioned riverside pubs, and you didn't really want to eat oysters on your Sunday pub outing anyway - you rich a-holes - you head a little farther south. A little farther into the Isle of Dogs. Farther into the unknown. But then you can happen upon the Pepper Saint Ontiod, and it will be a happy day that you do. So the building appears to have been brought to life in Thatcherite Britain, like many of the buildings on the dreary Isle of Dogs, but its austere and utilitarian architecture belies the Pepper Saint's idiosyncratic personality. The mismatched furnishings and accessories from various decades and eras creates a pub pastiche that endears rather than cloys. And on sunny days, you'll find an armchair or two outside on the concourse overlooking the dock - along with some dedicated outdoor furniture of course. The food here is consistently inexpensive and invariably satisfying. Gastropub fare, this is not. But stop by for a light pub lunch or a proper Sunday roast, and you're sure to leave satiated. Add to this a better-than-average variety of drinks on tap along with a wine menu and high-quality spirits alongside neighbourly good service behind the bar, and you can't ask for much more in a pub. Oh, but /THERE'S MORE/ you also get a pool table and table football upstairs (along with more comfortable furniture sprawling the impressive floor space) and a totally hip soundtrack rocking the indie disco with tracks from the Jackson 5 to Portishead to Two Door Cinema Club. I'd say this pub belongs in a place like fashionable East London rather than the Docklands, but then - if it were - I'd never want to go. You see, I'd probably never get a chance to sit on one of the Chesterfields, filled as they'd surely be with moustachioed 20-somethings wearing low-cut vests, leering at me smugly from their ever-present positions on them.
