If you're reading this, then you've most likely survived the "apocalypse." Well done.
I am happy to say that, although I liked this place when it was it was take-away only, I rather love it now that we're allowed to come in and stay awhile. The interior is cozy and quaint; it doesn't hold an enormous amount of people, but I've never seen it completely full, either, so chances are you'd be able to snag a seat here, no problem. They also have a few tables and chairs outside, if that's your preference.
During the lockdown, I fell in love with their toasties, (the avocado and halloumi toastie is amazeballs), but now that their full menu is back on, I had to rave some more about the sheer deliciousness of it all. While a bit more expensive than the smaller toasties, some of their more decadent options are definitely worth the price. My top 2 (thus far), are the Capuchin and Grivet. The Capuchin is a hefty portion of sweet potato hash topped with a perfectly-balanced mix of chorizo, seedless jalapeños, pomegranate seeds, a poached egg, and a side of sweet chili chutney. It may sound weird, but trust me it works. Crispy, sweet, salty, spicy... a symphony of flavors in your mouth. The Grivet is a smaller- yet no less filling- dish in the form of a breakfast sandwich filled with a generous serving of thick-cut bacon, poached egg, sweet chili chutney, finished with a slathering of creamy avocado, all wedged in between a soft brioche bun. It's a breakfast of champions, any time of the day.
The rest of their menu still includes the old favorites, like pancakes & waffles, smoothies & cold-pressed juices, full breakfast plates, toasties, and of course, coffee & tea. And really, the service couldn't be better. It's the perfect neighborhood joint. read more
