Food For Thought is a cute little cafe on Willesden High Road (it's a 3 minute walk from Willesden…read moreGreen tube station - not Dollis Hill as it says on the info at the top!) It was renovated fairly recently too, either last year or the year before, so it's really cozy and bright looking now. The owner is super friendly and chatty and is in there serving customers himself every day. It's nice to pop in for a sarnie and be recognized and have a little chat! Felix's review is wrong - it's not a veggie cafe and never has been!!!! :) I myself have eaten a yummy lemon chicken, avocado and rocket sandwich there before....Italian chicken salad...etc. They have chicken, bacon, tuna etc on the menu... Things I have eaten there more than once that I would definitely recommend are the 'Nick's Feast' jacket potato (quite a cute idea that customers can come up with their own combinations of fillings for sarnies or potatoes and get it named after them on the menu) which has LOADS of hummous, rocket, olives, sundried tomatoes, grilled aubergine and and and...I can't remember what else is on it, but it's big, filling and yummy. The salad boxes are a good deal - for £2 you get a box with a selection of salads - all the usual lettuce, tomato etc, then whatever else they have there, depending on the day - olives, grilled aubergine, sundried tomatoes, potato salad, pasta salad, hummous etc. For £3 you can also add chicken. The make a decent cup of coffee - not the best in the world, but by no means bad. The homemade lemon cake is also DELICIOUS and only £1 for a big chunk of a slice. A cheap and cheerful, clean and friendly little place that is an asset to the neighbourhood. They also do catering, here's their website for more info: www.food4thoughtlondon.co.uk

Food for Thought? More like Food to Cure the Worst Hangover Ever!…read more There's nothing better than a fry-up the morning after a heavy night out. I remember reading somewhere that some scientists discovered that fat plus protein equals great hangover cure, which explains why I was craving a full English this morning after Friday night's excesses. That's what I'll tell myself anyway... Food for Thought is a colourful little cafe with a conscience. It's biggest selling point is the use of free-range ingredients, and the wide range of healthy meals on the menu, from salad boxes to jacket potatoes. I opted for the slightly less healthy but much-needed veggie English Breakfast, which at £3.80 was very reasonably priced and came with fried egg, hash brown, veggie sausage (consisting of potatoes, carrots and other vegetables), tomatoes, mushrooms, beans and loads of buttered toast. It was pretty bog standard, but perfect for a lazy weekend breakfast. The cappuccino was good and strong, and soon whipped me out of my hungover haze. Friendly service, fresh ingredients, and good simple café food with plenty of healthy options makes Food for Thought a firm Willesden favourite.

It's nostalgic and the best sandwich shop. When I studied abroad in London back in 2006- I was so…read morelucky to live up the street and got to eat here everyday! I've come back to visit London several times since then (most recently in September) and its amazing how all the shops have changed on this block but this sandwich shop still remains! I am sooo glad it's still here! Seriously the best sandwiches, hot dishes such as Samosas- still cheap and fast service! Love that the locals come here everyday and know they can get the best sandwich or hot food from here! I'm obsessed with their simple bacon and egg sandwich (all comes on a baguette) I get it with no sauce of any kind. My second choice- chicken with corn. Simple yet so tasty. No need a million toppings-

This is the best sandwich shop in the world and I look down on anyone that disagrees. Just kidding…read more The sandwiches and employees here are pretty amazing though- as are the prices! I came here 9 years ago when I was a student and vowed to come back to try more tasty treats. I did just that and brought my husband this time! We ordered: -Tandoori sandwich (hot) -Peri Peri Chicken sandwich (hot) Both were so delicious, huge, and under 3 pounds (which is unbelievable)! I would say peri peri chicken was the tastiest. The flavor was on point and had a good kick of spice. If you want to save money and are in the area-maybe to go visit the V&A or another museum, come grab a quick meal to go here first and then have a picnic!
