Sure, there's the standard Egg Mayo with Cress and a Pret Pickle and Smoked Salmon, but once you get past the standards, there are some really great sandwiches in that cooler. Try the Red Pepper Tapenade & Soft Cheese or the tasty Crunchy Humous Bloomer or even a Sweet Chilli Crayfish & Mango Bloomer. I really love their salads, especially the No Bread Crayfish & Avocado since I'm on a low carb eating regime. It's just.. delicious. As for the coffee, I find Pret to be better than the Starbuckses of the world. First, it's organic milk. And second, it's just better roasted. It always seems to taste better to me. Did I mention it's also inexpensive. Sandwich, drink and bag of chips (they have some very unique flavors) is under £8. There are a couple of Prets in the Canada Square shopping centre, but the ones I have patronized are all the same. Take-away only with no seating and no free wifi of their own. Which is fine because the Canada Square wifi usually works okay.

It's like someone said; 'OK, we are surrounded by rich West Londoners - how can we get them to spend the most money possible? Lets offer them an enviable lifestyle while they eat, and then they will spend their money TWO times over, rather than just once!' I was almost worried that they were going to offer me a property brochure with 202 houses for sale rather than the dessert menu. That's my only complaint. And if I were rich enough to take advantage of this shop to it's full extent, then I definitely would. Nicole Fahri's tasteful eye has cast itself over every square inch of this shop. To the front of the shop is home furnishings, laid out in a way in such a way that for a very brief moment, you could dream that this was your living room; tastefully furnished with a few quirky artefact's thrown in. I loved her miniature model French CV cars. Downstairs is mainly clothes, again, I coveted everything. Upstairs is where all the beautiful people eat. The menu is comprehensive and spans through Breakfast, Brunch, Lunch and Dinner, and comes with a well chosen wine menu. The penny pinching cynic in me was won over - especially when I realised that I can shop between courses - result!

We came on a weekend afternoon and had to wait around 30 minutes for brunch. The place was very busy and you could see the waiters rushing around to serve each table. The service was pretty minimal after we placed our orders. They leave a large bottle of water on your table so you can refill water yourself. There was a good mix of traditional brunch options and trendier, healthier options. I was craving something sweet and unhealthy so I ordered the pancakes. It came with lots of cream on top satisfied my sweet tooth. I tried my friend's sweet potato and chorizo hash, but it tasted very average. The ingredients used in their food seemed fresh. Overall, the food wasn't good enough to make me want to visit again, but it wasn't bad by any means.

I left with a chicken, roasted pepper, tomato chill sauce and cheese sandwich on Italian bread. All then toasted. More not sound like much, but it is amazing! There are loads of options here - different bread, different toppings, hot or cold, small or large. It is a small restaurant ... capable of seating atmost 10-15 people at a time. But the available menu was extensive. From pre-prepared paninis and sandwiches and baguettes to cooked on the spot items like omelettes and english breakfast, they served the entire range of breakfast foods. It would be a good place for a weekday lunch too. Two of us went for omelettes, one for an English breakfast, one for a panini and one for porridge. Together we tried almost the entire range they had to offer. I liked the breakfast, and the omelettes were very popular, both the vegetarian and the non vegetarian one. It was pretty large in size. My friend didn't enjoy the turkey panini, but he has only recently started eating meat ... so I wouldn't read too much into his review yet :) The employees were very courteous and accommodating, although the service was somewhat inefficient. They seemed lost in thought occasionally. The combined bill for the five of us came to around £27 which I thought was very reasonable. I do want to visit Pumblechooks again.

Now I'm not sure if this is a friend of the other greasy spoons Leo's I have been to but it was pretty damn good. The ketchup was vingerery, the bacon greasy (Helen's not mine) and the service was amazingly surly. Just what I like from a top notch greasy spoon.
