Total mom and pop place with professional quality! We stopped enroute from one airbnb to the next and had popovers. I had a simple popover with butter and it was just over the top delicious. My boo had a egg stuffed popover with sides and it was the perfect breakfast plate. The popovers were big and poufy and the light, but with that eggy dough inside. They were just perfect. I couldn't help but also try a brownie ball and a cookie and I was again overwhelmed with perfection. Just delicious, just what we needed to get back on the road again. They also served Coffee by Design a local favorite and had clean bathrooms and dining area. Parking was easy on the street and the service was super friendly. The big windows in the front made it bright and sunny from the outside gloom. I hope they continue to do well and I hoe to come back sometime for more popovers. read more

I love PoponOvers!! I moved to Pittsfield from Portland, so I have really unfairly high standards for bakeries / restaurants - I was greatly spoiled by Portland lol. I went here on a Saturday morning and received truly great food and great service! The staff were kind and attentive. I had a tropical fruit smoothie which was delicious, a few baked goods to go, and a sandwich with fried pickles. Every single item was top notch! Also the prices are very reasonable! I will definitely be becoming a regular. If you find yourself in the area, definitely stop by, it's truly a cozy, great place! read more

I called & placed a takeout order for dinner as we're staying in the area. I did visit last year & tried other items than what I ordered this time around. This time, I ordered a chicken tender basket with 2 difference sauces, a buffalo chicken wrap (no tomato), 2 cookies and a pecan sticky bun. The prices are very reasonable & I enjoyed the atmosphere. When I called to place my order, the individual I spoke with was very friendly. Unfortunately, upon my partner getting back to our location after picking up, neither sauce I ordered was included and my partners wrap had tomato in it. The chicken tenders, fries, and onion rings were tasty & cooked well. The portions were mainly decent, I would say the buffalo chicken wrap needs a bit more chicken as it didn't really have much. Both myself & my partner found the sticky bun to be incredibly dry & the peanut butter cookie seemed dry as well. I'd definitely give this place a try if you're in the area as maybe they were just having a bad day. read more

This place is FANTASTIC!!! Stopped on our way back to MA from Acadia and it's an easy on and off from the highway. The menu is amazing, the service is friendly and helpful, and the food is great! They have a case of delicious looking pastries--we got the Whoopie pie which was just as good as it looked. The coffee was also great. We got a popover sandwich and a wrap and both came with delicious homemade chips. 10/10 recommend for anyone looking for good fresh food. read more

Great local cafe offering fresh foods and bakery. The cafe has a great atmosphere where all locals know each other by name. This is exactly what I often refer to a local business that offers its local and beyond fresh quality ingredients with friendly charming service. There's nothing not to like about this place. I chose a single burger. Thepatty was cooked perfectly and juicy. I am often not a burger person but will have one occasionally. Hubby had a cranberry chicken tarragon which is like a cranberry chicken salad but oh so much better. Had a bite to try and it was perfectly seasoned with tender chunks of chicken all wrapped in a soft pita like bread. The sticky bun was equally good. I had a cup of joe to go with it and it was a great tasting "bold" blend yet not too dark of a roast. Breakfast is also served here or you can just come and get s muffin and coffee/tea/latte/ bubble tea etc. ( see menu) Overall we will definitively come back to support another awesome local business. read more

Awesome spot! Only a few minutes detour from the highway, but in retrospect, I would have driven an extra hour to eat here. We went here for takeout the first time tonight. I spent $45 and we probably won't be back. Haddock was chewy, except some parts that were too tough to eat, minimal fries and the chicken tenders were the size of chicken nuggets. My son said his burger was really good though. This is my new favorite place to eat in the area. All of the food I've tried so far has been absolutely delicious. The staff are extremely friendly & the atmosphere is equally warm & inviting. Highly recommend the chicken tenders (made with real chicken) & the Pittsfield philly cheese steak. Upgrade to bacon cheese fries, they are the bomb! Wow, what an awesome place and so close to home. The food was great, and interesting. They had some basics, which are good for the kids, but additionally some really delicious more unique offerings. Probably the best scallops I've had in a very, very long time. So many gluten free options if that is your need-- the baked goods, buns, even the breading for all the fried foods. There were 4 of us sharing and everything we tried was not just good, but amazing. Friendly and helpful staff. Gifford's ice cream on site doesn't hurt, either!!! We stopped here on our way to Acadia. We were just looking for a quick bite and to be on our way. Boy were we surprised. This place was great! The menu is creative and the preparation was very well executed. The blackened haddock burrito had the perfect amount of seasoning and was big enough for two. We didn't realize that when ordering so I had to eat just the filling from the second half. It was too good to leave! After a great meal we couldn't resist a treat from the bakery case. Those too were excellent. It was probably the best macaroon I have ever had. My husbands "everything" cookie was so good he saved half for later. read more

Two stars only because their food isn't as awful as their service. My fiancé, who is 6 feet tall, and I stood in line for 10 minutes before being acknowledged even though there were three women just hanging around behind the counter. Surely they saw his giant head even if they didn't see me? There was a motherly type and two younger women, one with a big hair and one who wore glasses. After placing our order we sat and waited and waited and waited... Finally after another 10+ minutes, the motherly type asked if we were waiting for something even though about 5 minutes earlier, I already told her I was waiting for a take out order. She went to check on our order, which no surprise, was ready in the back. She apologized and said the owner was away and things were crazy. It was 5pm when we arrived and nowhere near busy. I can't imagine what it would be like when it is busy. Why on earth did they have 3 people behind the counter when the motherly woman was the only one who seemed to be working the entire 20+ minutes we were there? PopOnOver? No thanks. read more
