You will not find better pastries many other places, and they are made with a lot of love and passion.

I've never been treated so rude in my life. I will never return to this local bakery. Clearly not how Maine should be!

My daughter was so surprised at the bill that she couldn't eat. I told her she had better eat her $30 omelette or she was walking home... If money is no object for you I'm sure you will be fine here. I'm on budget and this place exceeded my means.

This is a great stop a for mid morning coffee and muffin, lunch and I have taken home their meat lasagne for cooking at home. All are excellent. I believe their claim to fame is breakfast but I am not a breakfast eater. The inside seating area is small and you may find people in line hovering over your table if the place is busy. There are a few outdoor tables during the summer. The time from ordering to eating is often long if you are having a sandwich or something that requires cooking but it will be delicious. Pricing is expensive but quality is high. I've had mixed experiences on service. Sometimes super friendly, sometimes I feel like I am bothering them by being there and ordering lunch. Lunch items vary and are not posted online, you have to visit to see the offerings. Would go more often if we could see menu online and call in our order. Overall a great place tucked away in Belfast.

Reasonably priced, small breakfast menu. Not a ton to offer in terms of pastries, but everything looked great. A freezer stocked with homemade dinner pies; Adorable Maine-centric gifts and art; An interesting collection of wines for sale... I believe it was the proprietor, who was the sole person behind the counter when we went. He was very friendly. Temper your expectations, because it is not a big French bakery, or an artisan bread or full diner breakfast kind of place. But it is quirky, satisfying, and does what it does really well.

I stopped in for a quick breakfast sandwich and pastry to-go. There weren't a ton of options for sweets, but I did stop by in November. I'm appreciative that it was even open, as most local spots close in the "off" season. The breakfast sandwich was so unique! There were scallions cooked into the fried eggs, which was a super interesting, flavorful touch. My pastry was a maple oatmeal cookie sandwich. Holy. Moly. This was insanely good! I'd stop again to try some other pastries.

The storefront is adorable with its red barn color and Victorian vibe, and inside you'll find cozy seating areas both indoors and outdoors, perfect for lingering a bit after shopping. The staff here are beyond friendly and helpful. In fact, this is the very place where the "blueberry pie survey" happened. We asked the lady behind the register where to find the best blueberry pie, and she started to ask customers who came by who they recommended. They directed us to Moody's Diner. Locals and staff alike are quick to share stories and recommendations, which makes it feel like you're part of the community even if you're just passing through. The store itself is full of surprises. They've got a wood-burning pizza oven (yes, in a general store, how cool is that?), hot lattes, teas, and other comforting drinks, because nothing beats sipping a latte in a Victorian-style shop while digging into a fresh out of the wood burning oven gooey cheesy slice of pizza. Add in their great selection of beer and wine, plus Maine classics like whoopie pies and Moxie soda, and you've got something for everyone. A local gentleman even gave me the full history of Moxie, and that kind of friendliness is exactly what makes this place so special. Outside, you'll find pretty flowers and herbs adding to the charm. Owen's is quaint, welcoming, and one of those stops that makes a Maine trip extra memorable. Definitely worth a visit or 5! I'll most def be going back!
