My "midcoast toast" (french toast)m, a huge slab of bread served with sliced almonds and berries was delicious; the others of our party enjoyed their biscuit sandwiches and spinach pie. I saw a bowlful of roasted brussels sprouts and tried them -- they were tasty but I found it off-putting that they were served stone cold right out of the refrigerated case. Delicious food but very expensive. It's a very small place with very little seating and the staff seemed a bit stressed for a small weekend rush. I'm talking probably 15 people in the entire place, seated just chatting and waiting for their orders. The cook seemed extremely short tempered with customers as well and the wait time was very long. It is a small place so it does take a minute to get your food so have a pastry while you wait. Started testing the cookies and they do not disappoint. Has to get them to go as the breakfast sandwich is like no other, it is a meal. A fantastic biscuit with a huge and wonderfully tasting omelet on it. Not cheap and prices not listed but so worth it. The coffee was rich and flavorful. My wife had poached eggs on grits and said they were great. She offered my a bite but, uncharacteristically, my breakfast sandwich completely filled and sated me. Looking for a place to eat breakfast with family members who just moved to the area, we stopped in Crumbs for coffee and breakfast pastries. The woman behind the counter taking orders and serving was rude unkind and condescending. At one point she gave us a pastry off a plate someone had returned and we had to ask for a fresh one. Crumbs has been our weekly go-to breakfast place for quite a while. We love Jenny, Willie and Lena, and may love the breakfast, coffee and sweets even a bit more. The vegetarian buttermilk biscuit sandwich is my absolute favorite. The biscuits are the best I've ever had, and the omelette itself is outstanding, not to mention the huge portion! Even the eggs in the basic breakfast are remarkably well prepared. The coffee is to die for. And it takes Herculean willpower to resist the sweets, which are so beautiful and tempting in their artful arrangement on the counter. The ginger cookies are ridiculously good, as are the chocolate chip. Don't get me started on the cinnamon rolls or any number of other things! Lunch is also fantastic, with healthy, hearty options. Beyond all that, the place itself is super quaint, overlooking the harbor, with people strolling by in the park below. In the summer, people sit outside to enjoy the scene. We were treated to a great meal at Crumbs. The inside is small and cozy and the menu is very extensive. They know what they're doing by displaying all those delicious pastries right in front. We were starving so we ordered a chicken sandwich, quiche, soup, salad, lemon olive oil cake, and chai snickerdoodle. Every item was absolutely delicious and clearly made with lots of care and love. My favorite thing was the homemade potato chips, so flavorful and crunchy. The best part was that they packed us two lemon poppy scones to go for breakfast the next morning.
