    Caesar salad

Absolutely incredible Italian food. Probably #1 in New York and New Jersey. Great location in Bloomfield, lots to eat near by. The interior makes you feel like you're in Italy. Decor is rustic and cozy. They started us off with bruschetta which was delicious, garlicky and fresh. The Caesar salad was delicious, the dressing was umami with tons of crispy clean lettuce and shaved Parmesan. For the main course we ordered the fungi (assorted mushroom) and truffle pizza. All sorts of mushrooms from cremini to Woodward. The truffle sauce was to die for. The dough is beautifully made and light. The vodka pasta with chicken was amazing as well, which fresh grilled chicken. For dessert we ordered the tiramisu, which was unreal. Top to bottom, phenomenal service, incredible flavors.

The iced Tea in question. I did taste it and it was nasty. It was definitely Tea but wayyy to concentrated.

Penne Vodka was 9/10 well made. Very flavorful and was the highlight of the meal. Caeser Salad was soggy The pizza looked and tasted great but needed a little more cook time to give a nice crisp. Avoiding ordering an Iced Tea because I don't know what I received and it tasted horrible.

This place is underrated in my opinion. I'm very surprised it's not packed when I go. They're spicy vodka sauce with chicken cutlet, and fresh Parm grated on top is delicious! I believe I've been here three times and once the pasta was unsalted, which is why I knocked off a star, but overall a really solid spot and I recommend you check it out. The staff is also very friendly. The place gives very cozy vibes and is a great date night spot.

    Very good restaurant.

I was thoroughly impressed with Popolari. The restaurant is not large, but they've done a fabulous job with clever decor, eye catching wall art, exemplary service, and delicious food. I can't give enough kudos to our Server, Peter. He welcomed us with open arms and treated us like family, from start to finish. We started with the Meatballs and they were very good. They were served in a small cast iron pan and it contained enough sauce to cover all three meatballs with every forkful. The Gnocci, with pesto....I was told... was the best they've had. We shared a Margherita Pizza and it was amazing. The sauce was sweet and they graciously added a good amount of basil. Even the bill was presented in an Italian passport holder.....a nice touch. During the warm months, you'll be able to dine in their front patio or at the other outdoor area, at the rear of the restaurant. I look forward to more memorable meals at Popolari and highly recommend it to every Yelper.

One of the best Italian restaurants my friends and I have been to, and we live in nyc. First off the restaurant itself is not too large but the ambiance is dark and romantic neutral. We were seated quickly and were given bruschetta to munch on before our entrees. We got the calamari which was delicious as well as the Margherita pizza. I ordered the truffle pasta with grilled salmon, the truffle pasta was nothing short of truffle pasta and the salmon was grilled perfectly. We also got the gnocchi, carbonara and spicy rigatoni, they were all delicious and cooked perfectly. The portions were also generous. Our server Kristen was the best, super sweet and quick!! Also shoutout to the guy with the scorpion tattoo, he was very friendly! We were celebrating a friend's birthday and their celebration was absolutely exciting! Bella Ciao!

Italian restaurant with an interior design like a bar. A unique layout that is casual cool and differs from most Italian restaurants. The spicy vodka is phenomenal. Pasta was aldenre and the crispy chicken cutlet was just that, perfectly crispy. Missed a tad bit of salt but overall a great meal. Special shoutout as well to the fried burrata, as well, a special for the day that was particularly good. Service could be better though which led to 4 stars.

An amazing hidden gem, in the heart of Bloomfield, which is now serving up brunch every day! But the meatballs are by far still my favorite thing here as well as the fresh made pasta!

Love this new find in Bloomfield. Delish food in a lovely and bright setting with outdoor eating options, as well. Portions were great, pricing good. How have I not ever noticed this darling gem. BYOB is always a plus......

Popolari is my favorite Italian restaurant in the area. The food is top tier, everything that I've tried there has exceeded my expectations. The vodka pasta was my favorite, with the fried rice ball with cheese inside coming in as a close second. I have not tried the pizza yet but I'm sure I will soon, as it looks amazing. The decor is beautiful, and they have a gorgeous outdoor seating area for when the weather is nice.

So far have been here twice within a week ! Their lamb pop appetizers are so good. We ordered a personal cheese pizza & a personal Bianca (white pie). I also ordered their fried burrata. SO GOOD. It's pesto injected, and comes with two crostinis. I used the left over sauce on the plate to dip my pizza crust in! They have an exclusive drink called Egyptian Hibiscus. You must order this. By the late afternoon, it's gone! We chose their vanilla crème brûlée to end dinner. Perfect tap/crack through of the torched sugar on top. Chef's kiss. The atmosphere gives real Italy vibes (although I never been to Italy. Yet !). The decor and all. The long window opens to the outside for the brunch feel. The parking is either street parking or a small parking lot located in the rear of the businesses. It is BYOB, there is a liquor store two stores down! They also offer their own set of wines as well. Great place to bring family & friends, or even a date night!

Look how cute!! Couldn't get the fist in the pic!

Cute little Italian restaurant! The food is DELICIOUS and service impeccable! The pizza! The bread! The pasta! The seafood!! All so yummy!

Decor offers a taste of Italy and adds to the charm. Started with a few apps and a chicken parm for the table to share. The Carciofi alla Giudia, the classic Jewish-Roman deep fried artichokes were beautifully presented. A good bit firmer than you'd find in Rome but were still well enjoyed and recommended. Tonno salad with fresh seared tuna was plentiful and packed with flavor. Speaking of flavor the porchetta sandwich was rich and delicious. Really this is closer to a bbq pork than authentic porchetta but still recommended. The star of the show is the chicken parm and eggplant parm. The eggplant was delicate, thinly sliced melt in your mouth. Luckily you get a huge plate. Chicken parm is also excellent and HUGE. While there is $10 plate fee if sharing a main they are fine if you order several items and share all. Very generous with their shaved Parmesan if requested. Prices on the higher side but not all that bad considering the quantity. This feels more like the type of place you come to with a large group than as a couple. Unless of course you are very hungry. Service is excellent.

From a food perspective, our meal initiated with a basket of some of the best rolls I had ever had. They were large, fluffy, and doughy with a hint of crispiness from a light toasting. We then shared the Veal and Beef Meatball, which was gigantic but still managed to have the ideal texture. It was also beautifully seasoned and served in what the chef called his "grandma's plum tomato sauce", which was divine! The sauce was thick and hearty, so when that was paired with pecorino cheese and basil oil, it really made for a fabulous dish. I even cut off a small piece to put inside my roll with a spoonful of sauce - chef's kiss! After that, we enjoyed some of the house-made pasta dishes, tasting each in a family-style format. The Squid Ink Bucatini was tossed with scallops, shrimp, and jumbo lump crab in a seafood tomato sauce. I did not love the briny finish to the sauce or that some of the scallops were chewy. The Tagliatelle with Duck Bolognese, tomatoes, and carrots was good, but I prefer my pomodoro sauce without the addition of a "light cream". Lastly, the special Spaghetti came with lobster, crab, and peas in vodka sauce. That one was definitely my favorite. While I do not love peas, the sauce was rich and flavorful. Across these last two dishes, I thought the pasta was a tad overcooked and could have been more al dente; the bucatini consistency was more inline with my preferences. Overall, I thought the food at Laboratorio Kitchen was above average, but that the service and atmosphere helped elevate the place. I would definitely consider going back to try some of their other dishes.

We ordered some garlic knots, which were good, it just seemed a little bit pricey to charge for the marinara sauce separately, which was not really outstanding nor something special, so I would recommend you skip it. We also ordered the chicken vodka Parm pie which was very good. The chicken was very crispy and the pizza was still delicious the next day when we had the leftovers. I do wanna point out that we have been to many places that offer gluten-free options and this is the first one I've been to that does charge you extra to make a gluten-free. The calamari was by far the best. It was crispy and thick and seasoned well and the sauces were delicious. There were some fried onions in it that were flavorful too. For dinner we got the pork shank which I think was a special, the mushroom ravioli, the eggplant pasta with red sauce and the branzino special with veggies and a sauce. The mushroom ravioli tasted a little like mush to me and I was not a fan of the mushroom flavor. The eggplant pasta was delicious and it came with burrata that melted nicely into the pasta. We walked past it 3 times and when we finally left they decided to shine a light with the logo on the floor. When walking in it's more of a lounge than a true restaurant so prepare for that. You will sit right next to people which isn't my preference but it was fine. We started off with the cucumber salad which was excellent. Just wish there was more cucumber than other veggies they put in it. We then got the Cacio e Pepe Gyoza which was the star of the show. It's was unbelievably good. We followed that up with the calamari which was also extremely good and finished our apps with the Chicken Bao buns that were delicious. My friend got the carbonara dinner and honestly I don't get all the hype. Honestly I thought it did not taste good at all. I had one bite and that was enough. I wasn't sure what it exactly was that made it unappetizing but it just wasn't great for the amount of hype social media gives it. The presentation was beautiful for pictures but the taste wasn't there at all. I had the Spicy Miso Ramen which was very tasty. Only problem was it was about 110 degrees in the restaurant which made hot ramen a lot less enjoyable. The beef that they also put in it didn't taste like much just a piece a beef so that was a little underwhelming. Service was very nice, it just seemed they struggled tending to each table consistently, not sure if they were short staffed or just extremely busy because it was a Friday night. Nonetheless everyone was super friendly and tending to our needs eventually. Overall, I'd say the appetizers were the star of the show. I thought all were delicious. Entrees were a little underwhelming though my ramen was delicious, it was just extremely hot in the restaurant for some reason. Staff were good and price was what I expected. Great place to try but probably won't go back. I shouldn't leave a place sweating after a date night. I think social media hypes the place up too much but it is good just not great.
