I have to say that I wasn't expecting too much when coming here in terms of the food. I was disappointed. Pros: + The decor was nice and they had a dart board game as well as other games like most shops. + It's in Pullman which makes it the only place for boba if you're in the Moscow-Pullman area. Cons: - Drink and boba was disappointing. I ordered a rose milk tea, and all I tasted was milk. boba didn't taste fresh when i had it. -Popcorn chicken was the softest popcorn chicken i've ever had. although the spice was fine, the texture at which they served me the chicken made it the worst i've ever had. -Being from California, I wouldn't have paid as much as I did for what I had here knowing what I know now. i've experienced better at the bottom of the barrel places out there. Been here five times and out of those five times they've never given me my food in a timely manner. Last time, I came in they forgot about my order. The time before that they forgot the noodles in my chicken katsu. However, their drinks are good, I would recommend their Hongkong milk tea. read more

Love love the bubble tea here! Been patronizing this place ever since they opened. Have to say today though, for $12.45 I received the smallest, tiniest serving of Yakisoba ever! And my fried tofu was literally burnt. Sad to say ... I'm a middle-aged Asian woman so I know my fried tofu. Plus I've had good good food here before. Came here twice now and both visits were great! The first time was great, the only thing that could of made the experience better is if the ac wasnt broke(fixed now). Second time I went with my gf, got the taro smoothie and she got the rose petal. My taro wasn't as sweet as I'm used to and asked if I could replace it with a milk tea. They were more than happy to replace my drink. We also found out they use real petals and real taro root. Great plus! Great tea, great environment and great customer service! I really only ever got the Spicy Chicken because it was very cheap and always delicious. Recently, I went in the store and saw the full menu and man was it very well priced and legit. My fiance and I are always big fans of bubble tea and Popo really hits the mark! Their drinks are tasty and 8/10 times they will get your order right! From time to time they will add in additional ingredients, but what can you do! Sometimes it's loud in their location and miscommunication happens. I really enjoy coming here! The environment is great and it's a good place to hang out. I am particularly fond of the thai iced tea and jasmine bubble tea. I have had some of their food it's pretty good as well. However, despite many reviews suggesting the popcorn chicken I cannot recommend it outright. When I ordered it the taste of white pepper was completely overwhelming. That's all I could smell and taste!! Immediately boxed it up to give to a friend since I couldn't eat it at all. Perhaps I got a bad batch, but I'm going to avoid it from now on just in case. For those who dislike white pepper, or are fairly neutral on it, these might be a bad choice for you. read more

Now let me tell ya'll somethin. I'm from Seattle and this place right here gave me some life. If ya'll been to Seattle, ya'll would know that Oasis and Ambrosia are the bubbletea spots and coming to this place out here in Pullman was a hit for me and brings back some good ass memories back in the city. It can be so hard to find bubble tea made with soy milk and Popo can do it! I love the matcha or the jasmine smoothie with boba. Not only do I have super fast service when I'm there, they have a drive through! I haven't gotten food there yet, but the boba has me coming back too often! We were excited to come eat here and try the food. The attendant asked how spicy we wanted our hot pot and we both answered 5. We only got one hot pot instead of two. When the person brought out the food I asked if there was another one coming and he said yes and then only brought out an extra plate. There is no pricing for hot pot listed so it was not obvious we only paid for one. There was no attendant present because everyone was just looking at their phone around the corner while the customers waited. It made it difficult to resolve our mistake. With Asian cuisine options being limited in Pullman, we decided to give Popo a shot. Please note this review is for their entrees and not their bubble tea, however. We ordered the beef fried rice and the beef yakisoba. Both dishes had their share of problems: Beef fried rice: 1) The fried rice was evidently too wet to be stir fried properly. The result was very broken grains and a mushy texture. 2) The MSG was overwhelming. Keep in mind we're accustomed to MSG given our experience with Asian restaurants. This rice went way beyond decent levels. (And no, it wasn't just sodium...it was meaty flavoring that didn't belong.) 3) The beef was excruciatingly tough to chew. Perhaps the cut of beef was poor, but the way it was sliced didn't help either. Finer slices would go a long way here. 4) Where were the fresh ingredients? The veggies consisted of peas, carrots, corn, and onions. This is fine except the carrots had the distinct freezer burn taste from having sat around too long. At least toss in some green onions to cover up unattractive flavors (rather than add more MSG) and to enhance authenticity. Beef yakisoba: 1) Sugar, sugar everywhere! There might've been MSG in this dish but we couldn't tell with how sweet the sauce was. We had to take a bite of white rice for each bite of noodle to thin out the sugar content. I guess this would be good for people who want to carbo-load before a marathon? 2) Minor gripe: A little too much sauce. Noodles were quite wet so it lost the stir fry texture and exaggerated the sweetness of the dish. Overall, I would've given the food just 1 star but I added one more for customer service. Water was served promptly and we were given more rice when I explained about the sweetness problem of the yakisoba. I understand this is primarily a drink and fast food establishment, but if you're trying to expand to entrees, there's a LOT of work to be done. read more

NO NON DAIRY ALTERNATIVES. Not only was the cashier incredibly unhelpful and unable to understand me, she was unknowledgeable about the store or options available. She didn't understand the word "alternative" and didn't seem to remember they used to stock coconut milk as an option. Very disappointed they don't anymore. Popo Management: get with the program and offer non-dairy alternatives and staff friendly employees. You are alienating your customer base and you just lost me as a customer. read more

Both times I went to popo ended up with me having severe migraines. I keep a careful food log of what I eat every day so I know what causes them and guess what was on the two days where I got a migraine? Popo, I've never gotten migraines from bubble tea before so im convinced artificial sweeteners are being used in their drinks. If you're sensitive to artifical sweeteners like I am I suggest not going to Popo. read more
