This Popeyes is located inside a truck stop which was so convenient for us. It has a sitting area that is clean and comfortable to sit in. We got the frozen lemonade since the soda machine was down and loved how that tasted. There was a wait for our food but it came out fresh and the cashier was so friendly. This was also the first time that we didn't have to ask for anything the cashier put napkins and the sauce I wanted in the bag along with the utensils that probably was what I loved most about this Popeyes!!!! read more

I did an online mobile pickup order, and confirmed what I had ordered and paid for. However, the order I was given was missing the 6-piece chicken tenders, and one of the 6-piece wings was made with Parmesan sauce instead of ghost pepper sauce as shown on the order. This is the second time I have had missing and incorrect items in my pick up orders from this location. Shame on me for not opening everything to see what was there or not there, but I was in a hurry. The restaurant was not busy at all at the time, so no excuses for that! I recommend going to a different location, such as on East Washington Ave. Otherwise, make sure you check all aspects of your order before leaving. read more

This review is solely based on this specific establishment. Heads up that this is connected to a truck stop / gas station so it was easy to spot. With that said, on the day we went, we had to wait behind 5 other truckers to get our order and we did a mobile order. There was only one person working in the front. It was a Friday afternoon, wouldn't you expect more employees? It took about 10-15 minutes to get our order so it wasn't horrible. The chicken at this location though was rather dry. I don't know if they gave us old chicken but it wasn't moist like other locations we've been to. The chicken sandwich was excellent as usual. The bun was super soft. They put a good amount of spicy sauce on it so it didn't overpower the chicken and didn't drip on my lap. If this wasn't the closest Popeyes location, I would go elsewhere. I took stars off because being a truck stop, I would expect service would be more efficient. Also the chicken was the driest chicken I've had from any Popeyes location I've ever ate at. read more

I like Popeye's food. The location, not so much. It's in a truck stop...and for the longest time, it was the only Popeye's on the east side, so we were kind of stuck. It smells like old fryer oil. When you walk in. I've never seen the same person working there twice. Their employee turnover must be horrendous. The dining area is rarely "clean." It's not filthy, but it's not clean, either. This place has been packed the last 2 days! Great food and great service! Staff Shorthanded at the front of the house but staff has a great attitude about it considering so Shorthanded. The guy working front counter today , I don't know what they pay u but it definately is NOT enough! He makes sure orders are correct and has a great attitude. Well, now I understand, if you have one location of a chain you need to AVOID. First of all, their prices are DOUBLE the other Popeyes in town. Our entire order, a non excessive amount of food for 2 people, and no drinks, came to well over $20. I watched them charge the customer in front of me $0.70 to go from a medium to a large soda. On the printed menu right in front of us, the upcharge was $0.10. He argued for a while, then gave up. I asked for dark meat for my 2 piece, they gave me two tiny legs. No thighs. There ended up being only 4 tenders in the 5 piece tender. We also ordered a large fry, they gave us a small. We asked for sweet heat sauce, hot sauce, and honey. They only gave us two of the sauces, no hot sauce, no honey. When I asked them to correct the order they threw a few packets of hot sauce in our bag, and waived us away. These Popeye's Chicken Sandwiches are amazing! I like the spicy better than the original personally. The chicken breast is plump and juicy, amazing crispy batter, great seasonings and on and on. They use a fresh pillow top broiche bun which is a perfect fit to the sandwich. The only difference between the two is one comes with spicy Cajun mayo the original would have the normal mayo on it. Both sandwiches have good thick pickles that come on them. It fits the sandwich perfectly.... Now I personally know what all the hype is about. This may be the best Chicken sandwich I have ever had. This place is absolutely soul sucking. Each painstaking time I come to this establishment I lose 3 years of my own life essence. No guidance, no emotion....no end. The staff act as though they are being bound here by their souls and the only way to soothe their aching, empty,hearts is to keep as many people stuffed in the tiny lobby as possible. There was a huge line when we got there, we waited for 20 minutes just to order, and the woman who took our order was very short with us, and all the other customers. We didn't bite into our food until we got home, and we didn't get the correct flavor samwhich . I should of not even ordered when I saw 2 customers asking for refunds due to long wait times. I thought maybe they would speed up after that and I would get my order faster. Boy was I wrong!!!!! The manager Jessica decided to go outside to personally say sorry to one of the customers who left (She Also decided to have a Cigarette). She then brought the customer back inside and gave the food that she just refunded to them for free( no problem with that) But somehow she thought giving them more free stuff that they didn't order would fix things.
