I didn't know what to expect as I didn't take the time to check it out. When we walked into the restaurant I reality is a fast food chain. This particular restaurant is in what use to be a Hardies. It had a cool decor and we were welcomed upon entry. As we were looking o er the order board the cashier asked us if this was our first time and replied yes. He explained the spice levels and what we could substitute for sides etc. We both ordered the #3 with cheesy fries and a drink. Our meal included a chicken slider that had coleslaw and a sauce. It was more of a sandwich than slider, and another large piece of chicken that was like a half of a breast that laid on top of a piece of white bread. Dill pickle slices, a side of sauce and the cheesy fries rounded out the meal. The sandwich was delicious with the combo of coleslaw and sauce. The larger piece of chicken was surprisingly very tender and moist. The French fries were ok. If I were to go back I would skip the cheese topping. We both jumped in the ice tea as they had unsweetened, sweet, raspberry and peach. We got the sweet tea and it was pretty weak. We head south every winter and usually if I get sweet tea I will mix a little unsweetened tea into it. This sweet tea was ok with the sweetness for me but it seemed really watered down. I'm not one for fast food but I would stop back here for a piece of chicken or take out a bucket. I'm not sure how they make their chicken but it had a dry rub over a light texture, thinking the chicken may be deep fried and then Tossed in the dry rub. Our rub was medium heat. It was borderline spicy enough but next time we may try the next step in the hot spice.

First off, it is McDonald's. I go here fully expecting standard Micky D's fare with the average…read moreservice provided by the underpaid staff. We come here rarely, maybe once a month. Every time it is the exact same experience, regardless of who is actually working. The food is the food. Pretty much the same at any one of the thousands of stores across the planet. It serves it's purpose of basic sustenance if you have limited time or options. The problem here is the service. It is bad. And by that I mean really bad. The person taking your order could clearly care less that you even exist. And they cut you off or mess up the order almost every time. Then you get your order and almost every time they have it wrong. And I am not talking like missing a side or some small part of the order. This last time I went, ordered 2 burritos and a milk, and they forgot the damn burritos!! Then when you call them out on it, the manager gives 'tude like it's your fault they screwed it up. The only saving grace is the shorter somewhat older Spanish gentlemen that regularly works the second window. This guy deserves a medal. Always smiling, always happy, and asks how my day is going every time I pull up. if you go here, check your bag BEFORE driving off or someone in your car will be going hungry.

We have been constant customers of Pot Belly since it opened in the original building near East…read moreTowne. It has sinced moved to another location in the old Shopko parking lot across from East Towne Mall. The new location is smaller and not as quaint and cozy, but it serves its purpose. I always get the same thing, the Italian with everything (except tomatoes). It's always perfectly done. My husband has been more adventurous, and likes to try various other sandwiches and soups. He's particularly fond of their chili. I have no complaints at all with the food, but on my last visit I noticed something that I thought I should bring to the managers attention. The servers were all wearing plastic gloves to keep their hands off the food, very good. BUT, they were all also wearing headphones and would constantly be touching the buttons on the headphones while still wearing the gloves. Those headphones have been handled by hundreds of people I'm sure. So it sort of defeats the purpose of wearing gloves if you are still going to be touching germy items, then return directly to the food. Also, as far as those headphones go, they seem to be a rather new addition to the restaurants staff, and we both noticed a definite drop in friendliness from the staff. They seemed to be trying to do too much. Your attention should be on the one person you are serving, you shouldn't be listening and talking to someone else at the same time. Let one person handle the drive-up orders and leave the other employees to the people who actually get out of their cars and come in.

The place is enormous, or at least it feels that way. The ceiling stretches overhead, the floor goes on forever, and there's no hostess stand in sight. No one is waiting to greet you. Instead, you're left to figure out the system yourself. Fortunately, the ceiling signs seem to know where you're going. Everything about the place says Chicago hot dog emporium. It isn't fancy, and it certainly isn't trying to be. No linen napkins, no mysterious foam, no server appearing with a dramatic explanation of the appetizer. Just laminated menus, stainless steel, bright signs, yellow mustard, and the reassuring promise of a hot dog piled high with enough toppings to require a little structural engineering. At the register, the cashier looks up with the blank, mildly haunted expression of someone who has been stationed there to process transactions, not thoughts. You ask a question. They stare. Not rudely. Not helpfully. Just a long, silent look that suggests your question has been received but will not be processed at this time. Your better off just ordering your food and hoping for the best. They do serve a crispy fried chicken sandwich with a sauce so aggressively spicy it feels less like a condiment and more like a personal attack. The first bite is delicious. The second begins the paralysis of your taste buds. By the third, you're realizing that requesting the sauce on the side was a good move. In hindsight, I probably should have done my homework and ordered the hot dog--the thing this place is actually famous for. Instead, I saw "spicy chicken sandwich" and made the classic mistake of assuming I knew better than a restaurant built around one very specific food.

Let down with this location.
