It started out great and I was really looking forward to Madisons #1 fish fry. The salad was fresh and my husband beef, onions and peppers was delicious. The menu said Lake Perch it was diffenitly OCEAN Perch. It had a sad PC of bread with no butter. The apples were okay and the corn looked kind of old. Our waitress was Okay, when she asked if we needed anything I asked for more tater sauce , it was lucky it never came because I barely ate 1/2 of the fish. read more

Good food and comfortable bar atmosphere. They have a speciality sandwich made with Italian sausage that's different and very good. We generally have lunch here and have always been satisfied with the food and service. The restaurant is on the edge of town behind a strip mall and in the past was known as the "phone booth". A fun bar with music when I was much younger. Plenty of parking and a large dining room. A good lunch place. read more

Stopped in for Sunday brunch, and was impressed with my options - and I love options haha. Ordered a chicken and pork taco, had all the fixings that came with. Food was cooked nicely and had good flavor. I tried a few bites of my husband's chicken & waffles, to my surprise they were good! The waffles were homemade, and the chicken tenders were good. Also got an order of their fried pickles, which I'm very picky about...give me pickle SPEARS please, not the chinsy slices! They had the spears which are hard to come by, so I had to try! Thumbs up My husband had two bloody Mary's which he liked - he's uber picky about those too so happy he was happy. I ordered a couple mimosas which did the job. Over all the bartender/servers were very friendly and prompt, the cooks did a good job, and I'm sure we will be back another day for brunch! read more

We had the fish on Friday. So much food! Blue gill were good with a delicious batter. The apples are to die for and corn on the cob was a nice surprise. The baked cod was flaky and delicious. We both had mashed potatoes, one garlic and one cheesy. Also delicious! Great service. We recommend the Fish Fry!. We will be back. read more

Returned to Dalys after many years, unfortunately everthing was greasy. Chicken sandwich was soggy. The cod tasted not different than the blue gill. French fies were stuck together at the bottom. Corn cob was mushy and butter containers were melted which wasn't expected and it made a real mess. On the high note there was alot of food and it did smell good. read more

We were watching basketball games in Sun Prairie on a Saturday. On my Yelp app I just typed in closest pub. When we got here, the parking lot was absolutely packed. We were able to go in and find some space at the bar at a table. The waitress was attentive. They were doing some thing that they called meat raffle. I've never heard of a meat raffle. Basically everyone can buy tickets and then they auction off really nice steaks and pieces of meat as they draw tickets. The Madison Wisconsin basketball game was also on the television. This was the most fun, vibrant atmosphere that I have been in for a long time. You could tell the place was packed with locals, it was crowded, fun and happy atmosphere. Definitely noisy and fun, but we were so excited that we accidentally stumbled into this place. We got a pizza and it was awesome, the beers were cold, and the waitress kept them coming. I can't think of a better way to spend Saturday afternoon in the winter time read more

Finally returned to Daly's after not being overly impressed the first time I went a few years ago. It's improved considerably. The fish fry is top notch. The cheese curds were excellent. The menu selection is very good. It can get busy, and like most places, they're a little understaffed, so there can be a little delay, but it's nothing drastic. Just have some patience. My only beef is that it can get pricey. With an appetizer, three entrees, and two beers, you can expect a tab of at least $70, and with a tip, that's putting you in the upper echelon of what I'd care to pay for any meal. I don't blame the restaurant, though. It just feels like restaurants are doing what they have to get by and pay their staff fairly. It's just a sign of the times. read more

Came here with a friend on a Sunday afternoon. The place wasn't crowded so we sat at the bar, and the bartender was very nice and very attentive. The menu is pretty extensive and covers a wide range of food choices. I opted for a grilled chicken sandwich with french fries, and while it wasn't anything that blew my mind, it was well put together and the chicken was cooked well. I don't recall the beer selection being particularly outstanding, but I know I found something to my liking (I just honestly can't remember which!). While I wouldn't make a special trip to go back, I would have no problem going again. Having read a few Yelper's screaming about the made-from-scratch food, I might be tempted to make a special trip back. A sandwich is a sandwich, so I can't say I noticed the homemade-ness of it, but it's truly a thing, something more hefty of an entree might make it worthwhile. read more

We love Daly's. If they were in Verona, we would be regulars. But we frequently make the drive out to Sun Prairie for their food. They make a great brandy old fashioned sweet. Decent bar food. I've been here a few times for their BLTs and a Bloody Mary. The bloody Marie's aren't great, but the BLTs are packed with bacon. They also come with seasoned fries that remind me of Arby's curly fries. I've also taken my girls here as it's a bar and grill, but leans more to the bar side. They also usually get the BLTs. We've gotten brunch here a few times and it's decent. Nothing spectacular, but it's good food for a fairly cheap brunch. Service is good, last trip my eggs were underdone and the server knew I wasn't satisfied even though I said it's fine. I was just not gonna eat them. The eggs had runny whites. She had the eggs remade and also removed my breakfast from the bill. My daughters had BLT (of course) and the other had the biscuits and gravy. They weren't what I expected, but she enjoyed them. read more

I use to love this place. Came in 2 times a year and the bartender knew my order. New bartender spend most of her time in the back room. Price has gone up and the medium rare fillet is now medium well. Of course with out Monday night football it will never be the same on the summertime. read more

Got the citrus bbq pulled pork sandwich with sweet potato fries. Everything on the plate was homemade, fresh, and delicious. Came early on a Wednesday and only the bartender was serving the whole restaurant and he was still very attentive, courteous, and friendly (also very knowledgeable). I highly recommend this place if you are looking for a quick delicious bite in the area. read more

We just stopped in for apps and drinks. Being Easter, it was an impromptu ' no-cook kind of evening. Our server was great and pretty on top of any of our needs (extra napkins water or and drink refills). It was quite busy but the service did not suffer for it. read more

I've lived in Sun Prairie for 9 years now, driven by this place on 151 a bunch of times and wrote it off as just another bar and grill. That was a mistake. AC went out in my condo on Friday and with some hot days coming up I got a room at the Super 8 across the street and their website lists Dalys's under food options. Checked out the website and watched the video and was intrigued by the all made from scratch food. Walked over for dinner and was the best thing to happen to me on this terrible weekend, haha. Ordered a filet with garlic mash and veggies. Also had an old fashioned and a dram of Auchentoshan, which you just don't find everywhere. The food was excellent, cooked perfectly and just really tasted great. Get the horseradish sauce if you order the filet, excellent! Cocktail was great and bartender has some skills with the flare! The bartender, Joe, was amazing and made the whole bar feel like a communal place. I've honestly never experienced a bartender so good at making a place feel welcoming and friendly. I will 100% be back, just an excellent experience and I'm only sorry I waited so long to try it. read more

I think the employees must have written the 5 star reviews because I don't know how you could construe this establishment into a 5 star experience. I will say the staff tried really hard, but everything just went to the left. They don't have a printed beer menu. The waitress had it written down on a piece of paper but was reluctant to leave it on our table for everyone in our 8 top party to peruse. So I took a picture of it on my phone to pass it around. We asked questions about some of the entrees and the waitress said she would check with the cook, but seemingly forgot when she came back to our table and asked if we had any questions about the menu. The menu is your typical bar and grill, American offerings; burgers, sandwiches, and wings. I ordered the wings and cheese curds. You get one choice of sauce with the wings, no exceptions. I went with the spicy Asian. The cheese curds were the star of the show here. Covered in a light, flaky breading, the yellow cheese curds striiiiiiinged for dayz! The cheese still somehow managed to keep form and stick to the coating, even after pulling the pieces apart. The wings had a nice crispy shell, the meat was tender but the flavor did not come through from the inside. The "spicy" Asian sauce was your standard sweet and sour sauce from a bottle. As for the service, that's when it was painful to watch. The food seemed to take longer than expected, which could meant it's a good sign because everything was being made with precision. However, this was not the case. A friend ordered the jerk chicken sandwich with no cheese. They first brought out the wrong sandwich. Then when brought out the correct sandwich, it had cheese on it. Two companion ordered the pulled pork sandwich. One said her sandwich was acceptable but the other one's sandwich came with dry and stale bread, the shredded pork was dry and didn't contain enough BBQ sauce. Another member of the group wanted to substitute the coleslaw with fresh vegetables, the order came with both but forgot her side of fries, thinking she wanted to substitute the fries with coleslaw. During this entire dining experience, the waitress and perhaps the owner kept apologizing about the hiccups. Another weird part of the dinner was the silent 70s/80s music video playing on the TVs, with still pictures of the staff sprinkled throughout the loop. read more

We are living in difficult times. But, there is no excuse to serve a $10.50 BLT with extremely limp, fully wilted lettuce and crunchy unripe tomatoes. We were even lucky enough to get the inedible part of the tomato where the stem attaches. Not one but two sandwiches were served in this condition. Some of the other food was ok, thus 2 stars. Our server Alicia was extremely attentive to all of our needs. We were a party of eight. Alicia made sure she brought pitchers of water. The food came out in a reasonable time for the amount of people that were at the table. When the food came out there was only one issue (reasons for the four stars) with the cook of the steak. I love the bar has TouchTunes and they don't restrict the types of music you are able to listen to. I was in charge of picking a place for my coworkers to go and everyone was thoroughly pleased. read more

I'm going to give the total experience 3 stars--the food a 3.5 (fish fry Friday), the service a 3. The restaurant was crowded and everyone seemed to be having a great time. My husband & one other in our party liked their perch a lot. The two of us who had typical fried cod had just that--average quality & taste. I'm not a big seafood eater but a great fish fry I can do. The corn mentioned in other posts was all around soggy & overcooked. The baked apples were an added touch but mine were a bit rubbery. Everyone's bread & potato sides were good. The server did not know the wines & even after coming back from asking mixed it up & forgot them. She apologized and admitted she wasn't much of a wine person...ah, ok. I ordered a gin & tonic instead. Oh, but after the guys ordered drinks & I decided not on wine we were told it was $5 old fashions night. The guys changed their orders to that. Could have lead with that. I know it's not her fault but I feel like others said in reviews that the list of beers and wines should be available when we are seated. The server was nice and checked on us enough. She forgot a few things at first but did eventually bring them. So, average service; not bad; not great. As we left the restaurant we ran into relatives who go there lots and love the Sea bass & the shrimp. We will go back again and would recommend the restaurant to others. Maybe a chat with a bartender ahead of time would be more fruitful next time. And I think I'd like to try a different night too since I'm not much of a fish eater. read more

We've been coming here for a year or so. Each time the service and food has been great but yesterday it was above and beyond. There's a favorite menu item that they were out of and I was going to order something else but they said they could put it together if they could have a bit of time. Very much appreciated. Daly's is the best scratch kitchen this side of downtown Madison, and the Fried mushrooms are national award worthy. The Cobb salad is a treat worth eating with whole slices of avocado, and the Fish fry and Filthy Old Fashioneds are worth the wait read more

Daly's Bar and Grill is in the same place that JB's Italian Grille used to be in Sun Prairie. Since the new owner took over, the menu and decor has changed. My husband and I visited on a Friday night about a week after they re-opened. There were still a few kinks to be worked out, but overall, we were very happy with our experience! The hostess forgot to tell us about the specials, so my husband missed out on the Friday nigh fish, but that was ok because his Pork Belly Mac & Cheese was very tasty. I had a pretty safe buffalo chicken wrap with sweet potato fries. I was definitely satisfied with my meal, but it wasn't anything too exciting. We also had an order of fried pickles, which were in spears instead of chips like they were supposed to be and came with regular ranch instead of the chipotle ranch like they were supposed to, they were as delicious as fried-anything can be! I'm excited to go back in a few weeks after the staff gets used to the new owner/menu and give it another try! read more

Diamond in the rough! Don't let looks deceive you. Stopped in on a Friday night with mom and boyfriend when the restaurant didn't appear to be that busy -- we were a bit worried (typically like to wait) -- but oh my god, you should definitely come here for an awesomeeeeee Friday night fish fry. There are so many fish choices -- all prepared differently and well. Homemade salad dressings, homemade tartar, and all around fabulous fish. Yum. Portions are so generous. Service was great and the owner came to our table not once but twice in the evening to make sure everything was to our liking. When he saw I couldn't finish the first plate of my all you can eat finish, he only charged me for the 3 piece cod dinner. Thank you! Stop in for friendly service and a fabulous meal. :) read more

Normally excellent service but tonight was way below their normal. Ordered cod dinner with baked potato and came with fries. The server never checked back at all until she delivered the bill. The Reubens my wife ordered was very good but the kids clearing tables took her plate before she was finished. She is disabled and didn't see him take it. read more

Service was very good especially considering the ratio of servers to customers. Pizza was decent for a bar, but the Alfredo my kids got was disappointing (meat was the best part they said). I know it's crazy to get Alfredo at a bar, but they love that dish so you can't talk them out of it. Anyway my biggest issue was the price - I spent way too much on that food. If you're going to the bar- that would probably be fun..the food is just too costly for what it is. read more
