Really enjoyed the ambiance--a real neighborhood place that has lots of TVs, friendly staff and solid, cheap food and drink options. They have one pound burgers! I was super hungry the day I went in and it hit the spot. Great, local beef, fresh ingredients and a great price! I had a few beers and a burger for a great, cheap price. Check this place out to watch a game or fill up on a giant burger.

Stopped in on Tuesday for Taco Tuesday with co-worker. We each got the Taco Salad, one chicken and one ground beef....very good and generous portions! Service was also great.

Huge burgers!! Flavorful and delicious. The environment isn't much but the food hits the spot! Friendly service and regulars make this place a great go to spot for a 1lb burger!!

Great 'out of the way' neighborhood bar with food. Great on Sundays for Bloody Marys and an inlet or eggs Benedict.

Clockwise from 12:00 - biscuits & gravy; hashbrowns; open-face muffin sandwich; & Bloody Mary with chaser. Soooo good, all of it!

We've been here several times, only inside for 4 now since it is often too busy to find parking. It is worth the effort. We've had awesome burgers (they are enormous!) & breakfast/brunch and it has become our new favorite place. As The Husband says: good food & drink at reasonable prices. Most recently we had biscuits & sausage gravy; hashbrowns with cheddar cheese & grilled onions; open-face muffin sandwich w/sausage (3!), egg & cheddar cheese; AND a very tasty Bloody Mary with chaser. Soooo good, all of it! The portions are generous, so we made another full meal from leftovers. BTW: this was $21.06 before tip! It's a fun neighborhood bar & grill just a bit outside of the city. TVs with daily sports events are always on, easy seat-yourself at the bar or high-top tables with footrests for us shorties. Waitress served, the wait staff are friendly & very nice. Only downside is cash only, so plan ahead. Again, worth the effort!

One of the few places you can find Old Style.

This has become a regular spot in our rotation, so I thought it time for an updated rating. My original review still stands true as for the general ambiance, friendly staff, and inexpensive prices. I was very wrong about what I thought I'd enjoy and not on the menu. THE BURGERS. I like my burgers well done and thus favor a thin patty because contrary to popular belief, not every person who likes their meat cooked through wants it burnt or dry. The cook at Eagle Crest is a master of the grill and she has cooked me a perfect, juicy, well-done burger every single time. The patties are a pound and the cheeseburgers are simple: bun, meat, cheese. Ketchup, mustard, and steak sauce are all available on each table, and all taste great with this beefy masterpiece. I can usually finish half. Three quarters if I'm ravenous. I've never been able to finish my plate. The good news is the burger reheats pretty well for lunch the next day. The BLT. This is a dive bar so it's not gonna be fancy, but let's be real: BLTs usually are best on white bread with iceberg lettuce and a ripe tomato. This is a delicious sandwich, but be forewarned: you will feel the need to preemptively dial 911 about halfway through as you realize there's likely an entire package of bacon on your sandwich. Probably best for sharing. Before I took a chance on the burger this was my go-to and I felt guilty eating just half of it. Go run a marathon then treat yourself to this salty, crunchy beast. The tacos. As I mentioned in my first review I love pretty much any form of taco, from fancy fusion to the ground beef ones my mom made while I was growing up in the midwest. The taco offerings at Eagle Crest were sadly just not my jam. One taco is enough - like everything on the menu they are hilariously huge. The overall flavor, though, was just cheapo Sysco blandness to the max. Everyone else in our group of eight enjoyed whatever variation they got (different fillings, taco salad, etc.) but I wouldn't order from the Taco Tuesday menu again personally. My boyfriend is a huge fan of the prime rib special, and we usually split the cheesy hash browns that come with his meal. They are also delicious, a giant portion, and very, very rich. Since you'll probably be driving to get there, enjoy a $1 Shirley Temple that's bigger than your head. Long story short: clog your arteries and wash it down with inexpensive beer in a friendly setting.

I came here with a couple of family members around noon on a Sunday. The parking lot is a cluster bc, apparently, if there aren't lines painted everyone forgets how to park. We came in the back door, which I'm not certain is an entrance, to see how busy it was. It had the typical decor/set up; decent sized bar with 10-12 tables. The staff was incredibly busy but still found time to greet us and assure us a table would be ready soon. Once a table opened up it was cleaned and our drink orders were taken, almost immediately. The bloodies were standard w slightly upgraded relish and my screwdriver was stout. All of us ordered something different for breakfast and were very pleased. Big portions for a small price. Service was fast, friendly and delicious. I hear their burgers are amazing. As we were leaving we had at least three people say 'thank you, goodbye'. Very impressed with this place!!

Ice cold beer stacked up

Quick lunch and beer. Jalapeño pepper jack burger was delicious. Massive burger (1 pound). Beer was ice cold. Cash only ATM on site. Friendly bartender

I can finally say that I've been to the elusive Eagle's Crest in the sticks of northeast Madison. Two days later, I am still struggling to digest the burger I consumed on Sunday morning. They don't even glamorize this real-deal burger with 16oz beef, 8 strips bacon and a think layer of melty cheese for $8. I can't even see how they make money. Is it the best burger in Madison? I don't think so. It's not very well seasoned and the massive amount of meat is hard to handle. Is it an adventure in fun townie bar that has good cocktails? Yes.

Big bloody at eagle crest.

Very nice interior! Busy as can be with a dart league, 20-somethings, and business people. The manager, Chad, quickly walked up to us and gave up his booth so that all seven of us could sit together. He ended up helping me find something to eat, even with significant dietary restrictions. Gluten is not one of them, but they have several gluten-free options! The food was delicious with really good portions. All of us really liked our food choices and were super glad we decided to give it a try! Rustic ambiance with a mix of high and low table seating as well as a good amount of space to belly up to the bar. Service was excellent. The servers worked great as a team and our order was taken promptly, food came out steaming hot, tables were bussed quickly. Great teamwork. I had to have the smash burger as it seems to be a signature item. It was so good! Two huge patties. I got mine with bacon, lettuce, tomato, and sauted onions. Fresh. Delicious. Love the little crisp on the smash burger. So good. My side was a salad but I may have stolen a fry just for a taste test and they had my approval. I can't believe we almost drove away. Do not do that. Go in. Enjoy the experience.

Lots of friendly regulars with enough new people coming through to keep it interesting. The drink specials are great as well, and change enough to keep things interesting. The kitchen pushes out consistent quality and flavors that are amazing. Not greasy bar food, but legitimate quality meals from quality cooks that are proud of their work. The owners (Dave and his wife) are extremely attentive and pay attention to the type of place they want the bar to be. They have a very refreshing "No BS" attitude and don't put up with idiots that try to tarnish the vibe or cause trouble. They are frequent visitors to the place, and make it a point to actually meet their customers. The bartenders are extremely friendly and attentive, and quick to squash any temper flareups and repeat offenders are banned. Your glass is rarely empty, and are quick to learn to enjoy hearing a respectful and non-pressuring "you want one more?". Every year they have a "customer appreciation day" with free food and drinks for a number of hours, and all tip proceeds go right to the staff. The place is standing room only, and everyone on the payroll attends and works. It is a great way to say thank you to the customers, and the employees get a very well deserved "bonus" of sorts. I mean, who even does that kind of thing for their employees and customers anymore?!?!? Couple tips: If you are coming for Friday fish, plan some time because the place is packed early and through the evening. The servers do amazingly with the rush, but its a popular place. Also, they have draws every Monday, huge monthly draws where the prize is often north of $1000, meat raffles the like that also bring large crowds, so plan on extra time if you are visiting during those events.

Not sure why this place has a high rating for their fish fry. Very average at best. Felt like the…read morefish (perch) sat in a pan and steamed too long and lost its crispness. I'd heard mixed reviews from various people who had gone right when they opened, and I was very happy with the place. We were celebrating my pup's 12th birthday, and the bartender offered him a "Pup-tini." Wow, how sweet and it was the cutest, most thoughtful pup treat I've seen in quite some time. The bartender was super nice and accommodating for my un-Wisconsin request of a classic old fashioned served up. And omg it was delicious -- it's hit or miss at cocktail bars how it ends up, and this is officially one of my favorites. While tiny, the inside is really cutely decorated and has these amazing lush emerald green chairs. They're so comfortable! I'm already planning to come back here with some friends. It's size means it probably will be packed at peak drinking times, but I came on a weekday afternoon close to when they opened. There were still a decent amount of people here, but there was a nice outdoor patio type space as well. Consider this one of my new favorite places in Madison. Highly recommend.

I ordered the "Yes you can buy me love" which was Espolon Tequila, Strawberry, Lime Juice, Triple Sec, Coconut Milk, Mint, Sugar Rim. It was really good. I also tried my husband's "Stuck in a Snowbank" which was state line coffee liqueur, bourbon cream, frangelico, cold brew. It basically tasted like a coffee that was a little sweeter. All the cocktails were great. Again I'm so glad we stumbled across this stop because even the bar goers were super nice.
