My husband and I recently dined at the Denver pop-up and would definitely recommend this to anyone wanting to 1) eat really delicious, high-quality, professional-chef-prepared plates with fresh ingredients; 2) have a unique dining experience out of the norm; 3) have the option to infuse with cannabis (or not) ... Regarding the cannabis infusion: It was super easy for each of us to choose our own adventure, as one of us prefers to consumer more than the other. ;) We had a blast and would do it again, maybe with a group of friends too. Loved the cannabis pairing, since it's up to you how much to infuse, or whether to not partake at all - the food alone is absolutely worth writing home about! Chef Chris provides a fine dining experience in a relaxed atmosphere that left us excited to return. Every dish had incredible flavor, beautiful presentation and showcased his talents. Chef Chris is amazing and one-of-a-kind. I love how he is a "scientist turned Chef." I've had the chance to attend a few of his dinners (one when he was with LittleMeats LA) and I've been so impressed each time. No two dishes have ever been the same. The dishes are so unique and flavorful, I've never eaten so slowly to appreciate flavors and textures before! Cannabis infusion is *optional* and he doesn't pressure you to try it, but the amounts are small and apparently good for a light buzz if that's what you're interested in (also it's flavorless). It's so fun meeting new people over a nice meal. Chef Chris will answer any of your questions and I love how he explains exactly what's in each dish before we eat it. A truly amazing experience that makes you appreciate fine dining on another level!! I highly recommend going to one of his dinners or speaking with him about catering an event. We had some food allergies at the table, and he was super accommodating. I am confident that you will be impressed and want more! To say this was an experience, would not even come close to articulating my journey to discovering how Cannabis, Art, and Food could intertwine. PopCultivate gave me a completely different impression of the 420 movement and simply put - I loved every bit of it. From the decadent multi-course meal that Chris and his team meticulously constructed to the collaboration of the artists who are creating right in front of you (while you are dining) this experience should not be overlooked as a gimmick but as your first introduction to an emerging Los Angeles culture. such a disappointing experience... let me preface by saying that i've been to several pop up dinners (wolvesmouth, monkey town, little meats, etc); i'll say this event was my least favorite dinner out of all the underground dinners i've been to. while i understand how hard it is to operate a such event (putting together dinner, logistics, staffing, etc.) and appreciate how friendly and welcoming the entire staff were; however, it was disappointing that their 'art performances' was no where to be found and no mention of why there was no art portion of the night by the organizer, until we kindly asked at the end of the night, weren't there suppose to be art performances? we are aware that people cancel at the last minute and that's out of the organizer's control; however, it is still the organizer's responsibility to come up with solutions as some of us (like me) only signed up for the dinner b/c it includes art performances and not just dinner. oorrrrr, at least the organizer should have acknowledged the fact that there won't be any performances in the beginning of the dinner and perhaps, come up with a backup plan? sure, many diners came for the cannabis infused meal, but some of us paid $77 for the whole experience, dinner plus art. honestly, i would not have signed up for this dinner if this was just a communal dinner. to be honest, for what i paid, i'd rather dine at reg restaurant, sit at a private table, next to my friends, and order what i want to eat. another thing that irked me was at 9:30 pm they couldn't clean off the table fast enough, the staff came twice to clear up the dessert bowls that some of the folks at our table were still eating from. the website clearly states the event is from 7:30 to 10:30 pm; dinner until 9:30. again, i completely understand that the staff want to clean up and go home, but they could have been more gracious about it; basically at 9:30 we were politely asked to leave. pls don't put something you won't deliver on the website - don't list the event as 7:30-10:30; just put until 9:30 if that is the case; i promise you, people will be fine, and they know what they are getting into when they sign up! perhaps most of the folks were too 'baked' after the dinner and didn't really care, but some of us were completely sober and super disappointed with the overall experience. read more
