When she finally decided to assist us, her attitude was condescending and rude. What made the experience even more uncomfortable was that I felt racially profiled when I simply asked how much a slice of strawberry shortcake cost. After telling me the price, she immediately questioned whether I could afford it or if I still wanted it, which I found insulting and inappropriate. To make matters worse, the slice of cake was not worth the $9 price tag. Between the poor service, disrespectful treatment, and disappointing product, I have no intention of returning. There are plenty of bakeries that treat their customers with courtesy and respect--this is not one of them.

And I probably left ~$10 savings on the table by buying the brands I preferred. The store is never a mess and the people working here are consistently good. It feels like a "we're in this together" kind of environment where we want to buy groceries and the workers seem to want to facilitate that, and then everyone goes on with their lives. I can say for 100% certain that this is the least financially predatory supermarket I know of. Produce is the biggest example. When stuff is in season, you can tell they buy a ton of it and try to turn it over fast and cheap. Very good quality limes were $0.25 today. I don't even think bubble gum machines cost that much anymore. But I also worked in retail and can tell they do the same with dry goods as well. They look for good deals like we do, and instead of using some complex algorithm that gets their CEO an extra million, they just make sure they're making enough money, and if they are, they often give people the opportunity to buy stuff cheap. The loyalty programs at other stores will never earn my loyalty like a grocery store operating in a neighborly way will.

Owners are incredibly kind and if you eat there as often as I do, they even remember you and offer you little deals or will make you food fresh on the spot for being so loyal. Only time I've ever noticed a problem is if you're explicitly rude to them first. I work in the mall so I dine with them nearly daily, so not a problem for me. They're fast and efficient, I choose them over any other venue 90% of the time because I always know I'm getting a good meal for a good price.
