Great service and attention to detail by my technician John from the Tampa store. Bought a new truck and it was missing a key fob so the Ford dealer had pop-a-lock come make me one. The guy communicated with me days before, got the original OEM Ford key fob for me, besides that he had to do so much computer work logging on to Ford and some other website before even downloading info from my truck to program the key fob. Unprofessional. I called Tuesday night around 11:30 pm to get a key extraction, along with a replacement key. Stephanie told me that my appointment would be the next morning at 11:30 am, Wednesday, June 2. I waited around all day. I was called by 11:28 by Angel and he told me that he was caught up at another job and he would be there ASAP. That never came. I called, left messages and no one called back. I called another locksmith company , America's locksmith. Got it taken care of within 1 hour. I just received a call back from Pop-A-Lock this morning-Thursday, June 3. Progressive Insurance Contracts with Pop-A-Lock to provide jump start assistance for motorists. Last night I needed a jump start on a vehicle I rarely drive. We were stuck at a Costco. I contacted Progressive who contacted Pop-A-Lock. Estimated time 60-75 mins. Roadside assistance called at about 50 minutes saying he received a text that payment from Progressive was declined. I told the person that it was through Progressive and not declined, nevertheless we would work out payment as I needed to get home. He said he had one customer before me. Then I verified with Progressive. It was not declined. I then contacted Pop-A-Lock and told them that Progressive confirmed the payment was not declined. So at about 80 minutes, I called the Roadside Assistance guy and texted him as well. The text came back as a link. The driver already claimed the job was completed. It was not completed. I called the driver and he said he was 15 mins away. Now we're at 90 mins and 15 mins to go (About 830pm). We waited the 15 mins more. Nobody came. We made arrangements to get home. Just for kick I called the Roadside Assistance guy and he said he was 11 minutes away. I then received texts and calls from Pop-A-Lock asking if the person had come. I stated he had not. That's when I found out he already closed the job. He said he came, gave us a jump start, and left. Complete Fraud. read more

What a joke. I requested a roadside jump service and Pop-a-lock was sent. I made the call at 10:30 pm and didn't receive service until 1:30am. Every 30 minutes someone called to promise service is on the way. I was in a deserted parking lot alone. When he did arrive. He got out of his vehicle, put his charger on my car, said start the car, asked for my license, took a picture of my plates and left. He never said who he was or what company he was from. They tried to triangulate my GPS location but that didn't work but I gave them the address where I was located so that worked out fine. The estimated time of arrival was 45 minutes and they sent several texts just updating me on the location of the technician. They ended up coming in 20 minutes! I was so surprised! The other day I locked my keys in the truck in the middle of the day it was pretty bright out and I have very dark tented windows. I called my insurance to request a lock service company and very shortly Michael Bray tech #77 in Tampa was at my location ready. It was very difficult to see because of my tinted windows and the glare of the sun, but Michael was determined and successfully popped the lock and freed my keys. He was very polite and respectful and I appreciated that. I have had other services before that made us feel like idiots for locking the keys in the car, but Michaels polite and respectful manor did not make the encounter feel as if I was wasting his time. read more

I had the most amazing experience with pop-a -lock. I locked myself out of my car at the gas station and my phone, keys, and wallet (basically my entire life) was in the car and I was panicking because I had no idea what to do. I tried calling my parents but they didn't answer and I didn't have AAA. Luckily the clerk at the station got me in touch with pop-a-lock and the time estimate was 40 minutes but they arrived in just 10 minutes!! Called around to 4 different places for an estimate to come and unlock my keys from my car. Got estimates anywhere from $50 - 95. I called Pop A Lock and they told me the prices started at $29.95 so I told them to go ahead and come out to unlock my keys. When the technician got here, he informed me the price would be $84.99. When I questioned him, he asked how I would be paying stating that the minimum price is $54.99 and that the $29.95 was just the service call. So be aware that if they give you a low quote, it very well may be false advertising. I will NEVER call this company again. read more

He was at the location within 15 minutes. And immediately charged my battery. However, to my dismay, I failed to get fuel and the engine died, which did not allow battery enough time to charge. John, the service rep. gave sensitive notice to the fact that I had my dog and my son in a disabled vehicle. He left the scene and came back with fuel as well as a 2nd jump start. However, On Star was giving him authorization problems, but he still went out of his way to help me regardless of the On Star hassles. Terrible service. I called to have my car jumped. I explained that I hadn't started my car in a few months and it would take a bit longer to charge the battery. The person who came out didn't have jumper cables and his portable charger was not charged. He was putting the clamps in the wrong areas of my battery. I tried to explain the proper placement but he was arguing with me because I am a woman. He was in a rush from the moment he arrived. He kept telling me he can't stay long. He continued to move the clamps around the battery in the wrong places. Every ten seconds after placing the clamps he was telling me to start the car. I explained that the car needed to charge longer before trying to start it. I asked him to please use his car to charge my car with my personal jumper cables. He reluctantly took my request. He was impatient and refused to let my car charge for 10 minutes. He stopped charging my car after about 6 minutes and demanded that I sign for the service that I did not successfully receive. Excellent, above and beyond, service from John, the technician from Pop-A-Lock, this morning. First, he arrived in less than 30 minutes from my call. I have an older car that needed a jump start; the battery is completely dead and needs to be replaced. John stayed and made sure I was able to move the car, just in case it died in the process. It had been parked in front of my house but needed to be moved in order to transport an elderly family member later this morning in a different car (that runs). Fortunately, I was able to move it to a different location after the jump start, but experience with this vehicle told me that it might die again before I'd be able to complete the move. John stayed to make sure I could relocate the car, and I really appreciate his concern and assistance.
