Overpriced ! Horrible experience with 10 Minute Locksmith LLC. I called ahead to have a mailbox lock changed and was given a price range of $90-$150 to change the lock . When the technician arrived, he initially quoted $150 and mentioned it could increase slightly depending on the type of lock once opened. I thought it was strange that he had to open the box 1st to see what kind of lock is needed since mailbox locks are pretty standard. He said the new price was $185. When it came time to pay, the final bill was suddenly $335. He charged $150 just to unlock the mailbox and an additional $185 to install the new lock. This breakdown was never clearly explained upfront, and it felt very misleading. At that point, I had no choice but to pay because my old lock had already been removed and I needed access to my mailbox. I felt pressured into paying a price I did not agree to and was not properly informed about. I would not recommend this company based on my experience. Took more than 10 minutes to get to me...more like an hour but to be expected in Tampa traffic around rush hour. DANIEL was super kind and helpful and sent the time to program my Chevy cruze FOB after my whole set of keys were flushed down the toilet at the Burger King...yeah. He then took the time to come to my house and replace the deadbolt and lock on my door as requested because, yeah...all keys gone. I can't decide whether to address the unprofessionalism of the staff, calling us names when we held the tech accountable for knowingly breaking the lock body and working on it for 6 hours and then refusing to fix it when we realized they broke the entire lock and were just attempting to cover it up. They refused to correct their mistake and said it was no longer their problem, after they were paid. The person alleging to be the manager, was very disrespectful ad well and dismissive. I called the company this morning and they honored their slogan to beat the lowest competitor price and they did so by $10. A few moments later a nice technician named Moe called me and said he'd be there in 38 minutes I was thrilled. 50 minutes came 60 minutes came I called Moe and he said bewilderedly the company had canceled him and said they were sending someone closer and that they would call me. They had not done either. I called the company and a nice lady I think called Tanya said that it was a mistake and she would have management call me in 10 minutes. 40 minutes came 50 minutes came no one called so I called back this time a gentleman named Ash assured me that it was a mistake and management would call me well here it is over 2 hours later and management has not called me! I have never ordered a locksmith so I have no idea why the people would treat me like this and just leave me sitting and hanging unable to drive my car unable to do anything. Issue #1 (TLDR: very sketchy payment system, I'm considering canceling my card, did I get scammed?) It was $100 - Technician asked how I would like to pay and I say card. He says they really prefer cash. I tell him I don't have $100 cash (who carries that much cash in 2024?) and he sighs, pulls out what appears to be his personal cell phone, opens his camera app, and tells me he needs to take a picture of my credit card and driver's license. I ask if I can cover CVV and he says no. I tell him I'm uncomfortable with him just having a picture of all my cc info on his phone and ask if there's another way to pay. He tells me he "promises to delete it when it's all done". I reiterate I'd really prefer something more secure and he sighs and says he can contact the office and have them call me. Office calls me and says I should be receiving a text about payment. I get a text (from a regular 10 digit phone number, not an automated system) that says "Hello this is the locksmith please send the pictures here thanks". I send a picture, but I cover CCV, and when he says he can't see it I just give it to him over the phone. Never worked with a business who insisted they just have a picture of all your cc info, did I just get scammed? Issue #2 (TLDR: Was told 25 minutes, took 75 minutes, called both technician and office several times in the interim and they both kept giving me inaccurate ETAs) Said they were 25 minutes away. After about 40 minutes I try to call the technician - I try twice, no answer. Around the 45 minute mark, I call the office and ask if they know his status. They say there was traffic but that he's less than 15 minutes away. I ask if the 15 minute estimation is accounting for traffic and he says yes and he promises it will be less than 15 minutes. It was 30 more minutes. I called the technician after about 20 minutes and he promised he was two minutes away, when it was closer to 10 before he arrived. It's a business where they drive from customer to customer, I can't imagine they don't use a navigation system and I can't imagine a navigation system that doesn't account for traffic and/or that is 50 minutes off on ETA. Overall experience was icky. I felt lied to and I'm concerned for the safety of my credit card information. read more

TLDR: Sketchy and price skyrocketed When I called on the phone, I was told a new car key would be $90-100. After my technician (Muhammad) arrived almost 30 minutes late in an unmarked van. He asked me to put my information on the receipt which is when I noticed the price was $350! When I confronted him about it he admitted he was not given a price from his boss/the people who took my call (who's number was 813-796-5155 but I can't find this number on Google since). He showed me his invoice (for my key) and I saw a similar customer had paid $100 for their key plus $75 for the mobile visit, but my technician refused to honor either this price or the price I was quoted. I admit I did agree for the service, I was exhausted from the heat and wanted to be done with him and the situation as soon as possible. My husband ended up speaking to him (over the phone) and Muhammad got visibly angry and would take breaks working on my key (after the conversation with my husband) to yell loudly at someone on his phone. In the end I was given a key that was at best a valet key (my original key could lock/unlock the car and had a panic button, this one has no buttons, and I doubt the microchip I asked for). No part of this experience was worth the $350 I was pressured into spending. My advice for anyone is DO NOT support this business. read more

Horrible experience. Called ahead to get pricing for a lockout. Initially wouldn't give pricing but then asked for a range and was told $70-$100. Price was $140. I was told the locksmith was "very close". Was called and told 30 minutes, but didn't show up for 1 hour. On arrival, unsuccessful in picking a basic deadbolt and had to drill through it, destroying the lock completely. Didn't even bother to try and pick bottom lock and instead used a device to force the door open and cracked the doorframe. Wish I could give them zero stars. I had a smart lock that was jamming and needed a small realignment. Tech chiseled out a huge amount of the door frame, destroying it and didn't put the strike back on. I now have to pay my handyman to fix the doorframe. when I reached out they asked for photos and video which I provided. as well as a screenshot from the lock app showing it still jamming after their visit. Rep on the phone told me there was nothing wrong withthe frame and they need to chisel that much. I could park a Carin the hole now. lol. He was rude and threatening and when I said I would dispute it as well as file complaints with the BBB and Attornet y general he threatened me with court. Great customer service. He then called me a liar even though I provided documentation. I told him to bring me to court and I would provide all the proof there. There is not only a lot of damage the problem they were called about was not fixed. Stay away from this company. Don't do business with someone who doesn't stand behind their services. They never told me how much it was going to cost to open my very simple door knob lock. He opened it in seconds and charged me $220.00. I chose to dispute it with my cc company. This company made up a fake receipt that said it was a "high security smart lock" and forged my signature on the fake receipt. I have the original receipt which says "house lock" with my REAL signature on it. Unfortunately my cc company chose to pay them anyway. Worst business we have ever dealt with. Said they would be there at 7pm to get a new car key made. Showed up at 11pm only to tell us they didn't have the right parts. Said they would be back in the morning. Told us they were five minutes away for hours, only to show up at 4pm after we called them demanding they show up. Showed up and the key didn't work and not only that but it proceeded to break the car. It then had to be towed to the dealership. Total cost to fix their mistake is $3,000. I needed a locksmith to get keys out of my car. It was my first time calling for service from "10 minute locksmith." It took 3 minutes to place an order. In 20 minutes, I was greeted by a representative from their group. In 12 minutes, I was able to get back into my car, pay the representative, and get back to my life. And it only cost $90. That is a much more reasonable price than other locksmiths I have encountered. Plus, I was able to resume my normal daily activity, instead of being bothered by having left my keys in the car for hours. read more

I had an emergency situation where I lost my vehicles keys at home. I know I should've had a back up set, my bad for that. I got such a great deal on my 2018 Nissan armada that I took the deal and ran. Never got another set made, which was my own fault. The technician was fairly prompt, did a good job, and as expected, it was pricey. I get that. He gave me the wrong key fab that doesn't function properly and doesn't have the remote start function. I can start the car, thankfully. But that's it. I let the company know, and they had to order the part. Two weeks ago now. I've called multiple times, they haven't reached out to me at all. I paid$550 for a key fab that doesn't work properly. They've been lackadaisical, rude on the phone and inconvenienced by me inquiring about what they should be providing to me since I paid for it. The technician that I had was awesome, his name was Chris and from the beginning he was very truthful and told me up front what it would cost, etc. However, the company itself is the reason why I am reviewing this as a negative experience. Not only did it take approximately 40 minutes to come to my location, I called this company instead of Pop-A-Lock because of a 20% coupon that I found online that I planned on using. Chris didn't have any issues with me using the coupon, but when he called to ask if it is okay, they told him that I had to call in advance the office and let them know about the coupon? The most bogus excuse I have ever heard, not to mention that it did not mention any of that anywhere on the website.
