I feel a duty to inform the public about this place. To put it plainly - please be aware before you order these pastries. Sampling will put you HIGHLY at risk of addiction. Since discovering Poore Man Bakery I've been coming once if not twice some weeks...and they're open half the week.

Lemon meringue kougn aman, veg sando, turmeric scroll and the berry croissant

I highly recommend checking out this bakery if you have the chance! The team is so kind and the pastries are incredible. Each week they switch out the flavor of croissants (and more) and each week I find myself with a new favorite. Inside there's a little space to sit down and it's cozy, or you can also bring your treats to the beach, only a short walk away. They're only in Pacifica for a little while longer so go while you can :)

Pastry box! You can't buy just one :) (you totally can, but they're so good I always buy more than one.)

The best French pastries in the Bay, hands down! This place is an absolute gem. The turmeric scroll is next level: perfectly fluffy, subtly spiced, and melt-in-your-mouth delicious. It's one of those pastries that'll have you hooked for life. All their pastries are delicious, and you can't just have one! (Hence why I always leave with a box.) Totally worth the drive (or walk, if you're lucky enough to live nearby). The quality, creativity, and care they put into everything is unmatched. My tip: check out their Instagram before you go, they post their weekly offerings and there's always something new, seasonal, and exciting to try. :)

Their baguettes were great and their Irish Soda Bread was surprisingly delicious! I saw this place pop up on Check Please Bay Area and decided to give this place a shot while I was around in the Pacifica Area. I was genuinely surprised it was located in an old outlet/plaza and felt slightly out of place vs all the other older shops but after stopping by here, I can definitely say it was like a gem in the rough that was well worth the visit. The wait time here was a bit long at around 10 in the morning but oddly the line died down quite quickly at around 11 onwards, so it seems like the wait time can fluctuate throughout the day. Decided to order a few sweet pastries, pizza, and baguettes and after trying a bit of each one, they were all great in quality and freshly made. It was also my first time trying an Irish Soda bread and I have to say it was like a very dense pound cake with dried fruit inside and thoroughly enjoyed it! All the staff here were very friendly and felt very welcoming to enjoy a brief stay here for my baked goods and coffee (coffee was also great quality too). If I'm ever back in Pacifica for whatever reason, I can definitely see myself making a bit of a drive to stop by here for more. Check Please Bay Area wasn't wrong and I'll also give my recommendation as well for others to give this place a shot too.

One, the customer in front of us took a long time deciding what to order and we missed the weekend brunch menu by 8 minutes. Two, the cashier gave us the wrong number card so the staff couldn't find us to deliver our food. And three, though this was a cafe style place, customer service was subpar. We decided to give it another try because there must be a reason why this place was always busy. Came a bit early this time. The line was long but was moving fairly fast. There is QR code for the menu so I'd say check it out while you wait in line for at least 20 minutes! It will help to expedite your ordering process once you get to the cashier. There's a good amount of seatings both indoors and outdoors. A good spot to leisurely enjoy your meal if you're not pressed for time. I have had the Vietnamese iced coffee which was very good. This time around had the Cubano (their specialty latte) which was smooth, balanced, and so good! I was able to order the Irish breakfast this time that was only offered on their weekend brunch menu and only until 2pm. We waited a while for our food. And when we finally did, it was not even warm. This was a bit disappointing! The saving grace were the roasted potatoes and sautéed mushrooms that came with my breakfast dish. They were very good. The side salad that accompanied the Lorraine quiche was also very good. I would come back to this cafe definitely for the Cubano, the Ube cream puff, and maybe try some other pastries. As for the breakfast... 67

I wanted everything on their menu, but only allowed a sausage roll and a minced beef pie. They had other savory pies like chicken pot pie, mushroom and Swiss, and breakfast pies. You honestly can't go wrong with any of them. If they happened to have the sausage rolls, get them. But if I'm in line behind you and you take the last sausage roll, I will fight you for it. The spicy one was to die for. It's not too spicy, it's like those spicy Italian sausage. Very flaky, not too heavy, but they don't skimp out on the meat, so you will be full. I absolutely loved the fennel seeds in the sausage! I just don't know how to be full, so i tried their pie too. While the minced beef pie was good, it wasn't as great as the sausage roll. This is a piece I am willing to trek all the way down the 1 for.

Limited selection close to opening on a Sunday, which feels odd considering you would expect that to be a busier day/time for them, but the west coast, and a small coastal town specifically, moves slow. Overall, when there is a good selection of sweets, savories, and sausage roll, this is an awesome spot. Coffee is ok, depends on the barista that day. They have acai as an option as well if pie isn't your thing, the granola tastes homemade. View and vibe inside can't be beat.

Food & drinks are pretty good, they've raised their prices since changing ownership, which is a bummer, but hey I get it. Prices are rising all over the place. Keep up the awesome work & retain your awesome staff, specifically Christopher. He has a very uplifting presence in your cafe & is sure to bring in repeat customers with his charisma & acute memory for details. It's a cozy little spot with beautiful artwork of the coast painted by Pam Anderberg around the place. It has a beautiful natural lighting via the sky light & the outside bike parking area is nice! They always have water for the refills when I would swing by here on bicycle rides. Sometimes parking is tight, as in not a lot of availablilty of spots. But even then it's worth the short walk. It looked like there was just one person handling both the cashier and drink orders, but he managed everything really smoothly. I ordered a matcha latte with oat milk and honey and when he finished it, he realized he accidentally made it with vanilla syrup instead. Without hesitation, he remade it right away and even offered me the first one for free, which I thought was really kind and showed great customer service. The matcha itself was decent but it wasn't nothing mind blowing but definitely good enough to enjoy and sip on. It had a nice balance and wasn't overly sweet, which I appreciated. What really stood out more than anything was the service. The guy was friendly, professional, and genuinely attentive, which made the experience better overall. If you're looking for a quick matcha fix in a convenient location with solid service, this is a good spot to check out!

While waiting to order (since the staff was busy preparing drinks), another customer walked in and asked if the falafel bagel was available which the staff said yes to. The customer then patiently waited behind us. We were told to wait since they would be done with the drinks soon. A few minutes later, another staff member asked the other customer what he wanted in his falafel bagel and proceeded to make it. We said that we hadn't placed our order yet and the staff making the drinks said "It takes longer to make and he's a regular customer." Oh. That's how it is here. After we finally ordered and got our bagels (since we wanted to still enjoy our breakfast), we were again disappointed. The everything bagel was flat, small and kind of doughy. (Perhaps not fully cooked?) The egg and cheese with cream cheese was added sloppily. Disappointing since we have just moved here and want to support small businesses. We'll just have to take our business elsewhere.

It's really one of the only Chinese style bakeries around the area so this is the one I typically would go to. The baked goods are decent. The service is OK the staff there collect your money and get you on your way so really nothing to complain about there. The bake shop and ambience is that of a typical Chinese style bakery you walk in and you grab your tray along with the tongs and you pick out the specific pastries that you want, and you put it on the plate and give it to the staff person at the front near the counter. That's also where you can get your egg tarts and other type of goods such as the more fresh pastries with meat in inside like a cha siew bao. If you pay with cash is cheaper as I believe they charge a surcharge when you pay with credit card. Parking is easy because it is just part of the big plaza area with plenty of parking.
