They started out great and everything that was included in the service sounded really good. The first guy that came by was great and even discounted the initial quote given. Once the service started, it seemed ok. The young man that did the weekly service was here about an hour every time. Then I started noticing that on one side of the pool, where the sun doesn't hit much, had some green spots. I asked him about it and he said it was because the pool used up a lot of chlorine, then he later sent me a text saying it was something else. We recently moved in to the house so I didn't know much about the pool. I did notice that the water level was pretty high, but figured the pool "experts" would say something if something was wrong. One day I was checking out the auto fill valve and noticed it was on, no mater what I did to the float, the valve still had water coming out of it. I also noticed that the pool and the cleaner were on different schedules. I asked our service guy, through text, to please check both of those issues. The evening after he came, on a Wednesday, I asked him about it and he said he had forgotten. He said he would stop by in a couple days, he never showed up. That Sunday, I came out to the jacuzzi more than half empty and the pool over flowing. I sent pictures to the supervisor and our regular guy a text and never heard back from either one. I ended up turning the entire system off until our next service day. I was having to do some of the work myself. When I called to cancel the service, all of a sudden the supervisor sends me a text asking what he could do to keep my business. I said I was already looking for someone else and the was the last time we ever communicated. read more

Initially the service was good, as of recently the route techs spend about 10-15 minutes at our property each visit and attempt to attach a cheap automatic vacuum. This causes a need to prime the system every week after their visit due to the vacuum not remaining properly attached once the system has finished for the day. Which also leaves the skimmer off and water standing on the surface of the pool. By mid week our pool is not clean enough for use. 2nd to last visit (which are on Mondays) was done and once again the auto vacuum was left attached and the pump needed to be primed due to the system not functioning correctly. When I went out on Wednesday to remove the vacuum & prime the system I found maggots in our jacuzzi. The following Monday when the tech arrived I went out to ask some questions about our services and explain my concerns for the automatic vacuum. The tech was condescending, rude and defensive with his answers. When I asked if the phone call he was on the for the entire conversation was business related he responded with "I don't see why that matters" & "it's my manager do you want to talk to him". I said no but he asked again which I then replied with yes, he gestured his phone toward me so I then reached for it, only for him to say to me "don't touch my phone" he then placed the call on speaker so I could converse with the person on the other end. At this point I asked the tech to leave and for the "manager" on the phone to please call my husband or I to discuss this matter and arrange for another tech to come out. I called poolgenx about an hour after the tech left because his "manager" never called us. The person who answered at poolgenx took my information and told me that a manager who oversees our account would contact me, which has not happened. May be time for a new pool maintenance company as I will now be cleaning my own pool this week. read more

My pool has a severe algae problem due to a large tree right next to it from my neighbor's backyard and Angel would do everything to make sure that the pool stays sparkle cleaned! There is something SERIOUSLY WRONG WITH THIS COMPANY. I own my home and sent a request for an estimate on Yelp to about 6 companies. PoolgenX was the first to reply. They offered a free estimate and a 1pm appointment for yesterday 3/14. I confirmed it. I drove 1.5 hours from downtown LA to corona to meet them. I was there at 12:58. By 1:03 nobody showed so I messaged the company. They said the tech was there at 12:45 and rang the bell and left because nobody answered!!! WTF?? NOBODY THOUGHT TO CALL ME?? HE WAS 15 MINUTES EARLY AND DIDN'T WAIT UNTIL THE APPOINTMENT TIME?? Who does that?? I messaged back that I'm here and drove 1.5 hours to be here ON TIME. The owner messaged me back saying they won't work with me because "you have contacted us before using two separate Yelp accounts." WTF?? I wrote back that I have only had one yelp account and she said this address has two accounts. I've rented this house out to 4 families in the past. So what? If that is such a problem why did they set up an appointment with me in the first place and supposedly sent a tech out (15 minutes before the appointment time and he left before the appt time without calling me??). THE OWNER NEVER APOLOGIZED FOR HER MISTAKES AND INSISTED ON LAME EXCUSES FOR NOT WANTING TO DO BUSINESS WITH ME! BASED ON THIS, IM WARNING EVERYONE TO STAY AWAY!! read more

As new home owners of a pool, we decided to call a few pool guys about monthly cleaning service. Andreas was available to swing by at moments notice and expressed a sincere and deep apology when he thought he was late yet according to my clock he was on time. Nonetheless Andreas walked us through all our pool equipment and was more than willing to answer any questions we had. He didn't come off as a typical salesman trying to persuade you to hire him. He had an easy and honest approach, something I love and respond best to. He even left me his cell # to call or text if I had any issues or questions. His price is fair and competitive considering what's included. Hi, I spoke with pool cleaners over the phone and in person getting quotes and I decided on a local "pick-up truck guy" that got pretty good word-of-mouth reviews. I just wanted to stop looking, so I settled. Well, after a little over 3 weeks, I got tired of seeing this film on the top of the water in addition to floates (bugs and small particles stuck on the wall along the waterline). ARGH! By the time I met Andreas I was meh. But....for....Andreas, a Ninja with PoolGenX! He was so pleasant and respectful. He skimmed the pool as we talked about their services, which was rather nice of him (I had been skimming while we talked and he was kind enough to take over). I decided to give Andreas a try and boy am I happy I did. I like that we have the same guy from week to week. They do an excellent job and my pool glimmers and glistens after each cleaning which lasts for days. Once skimmed, the water is still bright. PoolGenX has a system of recording the chemical levels and other stats of my pool and the card is left by the pool pump. It serves as a log in case someone has to cover Andreas. Also the record is for my information to keep up with things. It also serves as confirmation of the cleaning in case you know do not see him coming/going (although you'll know he has been there by the cleanness of your pool).
