Change is constant, right? My insurance provider decided to…read morechange from VSP to EyeMed which meant I needed to find a new provider. I had cataract surgery last March which corrected my distance vision. The downside is that I now require readers. In addition, for my part-time job, I work on a computer in a public place so I need bi-focals. Unfortunately, I lost one of the lenses and the frames are damaged. It took 2 weeks to get an appointment. I was there early for my time. I filled out some paperwork and was ready to go when Dr Brook Vastis called me in. We talked about my transition to her practice and my vision needs. Mainly to get an exam to provide to my PCP, replacement bi-focal lenses and frames. The office environment is professional and functional. The Reception process was smooth and easy. While I was waiting I noticed there were two ladies that were talking to patients about their frame selections. They have a lot of premium choices, Maui Jim, Lilly Pulitzer, State Optical, Barton Perreira, Lafont of Paris,Ernia O of Barcelona, Silhouette, Ovo Optics, Modo, Morel and Kate Spade to name a few. I met with a lady named Jessie to talk about selecting frames and lenses and completing my order. She was very professional, friendly and helpful. I was pleased my insurance covered a large percentage of the overall costs. While changing medical providers can sometimes be anxious and stressful, this was not one of them.

They are amazing and have been every visit that I've ever had. It doesn't matter whether it's the…read moreexam looking at glasses for making an appointment... The staff are always so helpful. I was one this first patients. When my insurance changed he was not in network. After 2 years I went back. Hands down one of the best doctors I've ever had. They are ahead of the curve with technology and he always knows the newest multifocal contacts that are coming out, etc. I highly highly recommend Optique

This office is a fucking scam. If you or your kids are looking for a new eye doctor, look…read moreelsewhere. I moved to this area 18mo ago and havent seen an eye doctor in almost 3 years. Figured I would go here as I looked up IN NETWORK providers in my area. None of what this place does is transparent. I asked for a simple updated Rx for my glasses and contacts. They scammed me into taking pupil dilation (which i told them I didnt want) only to turn around and make up some fake story about how I "might" have Astigmatism. Only to put me in trial contacts fit for Astigmatism and THEY HURT MY EYES. Clearly meaning I do not have astigmatism. LIES LIES and more LIES. So what should have been a $15 visit ended up being a $140 visit because they decided to code the charges as if I have astigmatism so they could say "look we put him in the fancy contact lenses, he just didnt like them." Oh and to top it all off, the script they gave me when I left was incomplete so when i went to order contacts at Costco a week later, they wouldnt complete the order because there was missing information. And doctors wonder why no one trusts them anymore after Covid...this is why!! Read the room Doc, maybe try giving a shit about your patients for once and not treating people like cattle you shuffle through your door so you can buy another beach house.

I would give a negative 1000if possible. My glasses delaminated in month 18. Warranty is only…read morestandard 12 months. They told me to get lost. This is only the 2nd sad panda I have given on yelp. Never going there again. And they just snapped in half. :-(

From the receptionist at check-in to the end of the visit it was all amazing! Dr. Au was extremely nice, funny and informative. We went through the motions of eye tests, etc. But he explained things to me in such detail. It was really appreciated. After I sat with Dr. Au I went to pick out my glasses with Melony and she was such a delight. So sweet, kind and funny! This whole team is just top notch , truly. I spent almost 2 hours in this appointment and left feeling so excited about my first pair of glasses ever. They really made me so comfortable and informed. I CANNOT recommend this office enough!!

Another eye doctor that I later saw in Charlotte failed to diagnose it, and when I brought up the earlier diagnosis, dismissed my concerns. Dr. David Au correctly diagnosed my astigmatism - there was a noticeable difference between the normal and astigmatism lens - and I'm glad to be finally able to get the lens I need. Dr. Au answered all my questions and showed me a protocol for referring contact lens prescriptions - quite refreshing compared to other eye docs I've seen that were less transparent and steered me towards one particular brand (that I wonder if they were receiving some form of kickbacks on). Thank you Dr. Au for being an kind, thorough, and ethical doctor. I will be a regular here.

The earliest appointment available was approximately six weeks away, and my parents had to drive an hour to get there. The appointment was scheduled for 11:30 a.m. I arrived at 11:23 a.m. and informed the front desk that my mother was still on her way and would likely arrive about 10 minutes late. I also explained that, because of her disability, she needed additional time to walk from the parking area and take the elevator to the second floor. I specifically asked whether she could still be seen, and I was told that as long as she arrived by 11:45 a.m., it would not be a problem. The staff provided me with a tablet to begin completing her paperwork. While I was finishing it, my mother arrived. I briefly stepped outside to direct her where to go and left the tablet on the table. When I returned, the staff had already taken the tablet and informed me that the doctor would not see her, despite the fact that it was only 11:44 a.m. and she was literally walking into the office. After I explained the situation, one staff member indicated they would try to work her into the schedule, while another said the doctor had refused and that we would need to reschedule. We then spent another 10-15 minutes discussing the issue, during which time the appointment could likely have already begun. What is most frustrating is that I was initially told she would be seen if she arrived by 11:45 a.m., yet that commitment was not honored. Had I been told from the beginning that there was absolutely no flexibility, I could have made other arrangements or sought care elsewhere. My mother has a serious eye condition and now faces further delays in receiving treatment. Given her disability, age, and the effort required to attend the appointment, I expected a greater degree of understanding and accommodation. Unfortunately, our experience left us feeling that her circumstances were not taken into consideration.

There have been repeated miscommunications between optical and the front desk, with staff trying to resolve everything without involving the doctors. During the consultation, the staff ran a plethora of test on my eyes to get a baseline and determine my eligibility. After, Dr. Nunnery came in and informed me which options I had for vision correction. I was still very much nervous, mostly due to my own fears, so I decided to give it a week or so to think about. I ended calling back and booking the appointment for PRK. I went in about a month later for the surgery. Due to some technical difficulties, the staff ask me to return the next day for the surgery. I went back the next day, and they performed the procedure. The team went above and beyond to ease my nerves. The surgery was only about 20 minutes in total and as I rose from the chair, my vision was almost perfect. The couple days after PRK are miserable as the healing process begins, but I was supplied with plenty of prescriptions, gear, and guidance to ease the process. There also were a few checkups during this period to ensure the process is going smoothly. It's about a month after my surgery and I am so happy with the decision. My vision is great, and the cost of about $6000 was worth every dollar. Dr. Nunnery is a professional in his craft and is a personable individual throughout the entire process. The rest of the staff is just as kind and ensured I had as seamless an experience possible.
